The mechanism of selenium(se)-induced salt tolerance was studied in moderately sensitive soybean(Glycine max L.)*** execute this view,soybean plants were imposed with salt stress(EC 6 ds m^(−1))applying *** other treatments,se(0,25,50 and 75μM Na_(2)seO_(4))was sprayed as co-application with that level of salt *** height,stem diameter,leaf area,sPAD value decreased noticeably under salt *** proline(Pro)level,together with decreased leaf relative water content(RWC)was observed in salt-affected *** stress resulted in brutal oxidative damage and increased the content of H_(2)O_(2),MDA level and electrolyte *** se spray alleviated oxidative damage through boosting up the antioxidant defense system by increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as catalase(CAT),peroxidase(POD)and glutathione reductase(GR),as well as by improving non-enzymatic antioxidants like glutathione(GsH)and GsH/glutathione disulfide(GssG).The upregulated antioxidant defense system,restored Pro and leaf RWC,higher sPAD value conferred better growth and development in se-sprayed salt-affected soybean plants which altogether put forth for the progressive yield contributing parameters and finally,seed *** different doses of se,soybean plants sprayed with 50μM Na_(2)seO_(4)showed better salt tolerance.

In the attempt to reduce surface free energy of silica to improve interaction of silica with silver, silica was doped by different amounts of low surface energy lanthanum, La_2O_3, through impregnation. The doped and undoped silica were used as supports for preparation of Na/Ag/Mo/La_2O_3-siO_2 catalysts. Catalytic performances of the catalysts were evaluated in direct epoxidation of propylene(DPO) using molecular oxygen under atmospheric pressure and without adding hydrogen. Adding 5 wt%La to the Na/Ag/Mo/siO_2 catalyst improves both the catalysts electivity in DPO and its stability over 20h of *** characterization results show that La_2O_3 species interact strongly with silver particles on the silica surface which result in significant improvement in the dispersion profile of silver and marked decrease in the size of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs). The estimated mean diameter of AgNPs is ca. 4.0 nm in Na/Ag/Mo/5 wt%La_2O_3-siO_2, which is s.aller than that(53.9 nm) found in Na/Ag/siO_2. The presence of subnanometer AgNPs on Ag/La_2O_3-siO_2 prior addition of MoO_3 and NaCl to the sample can enhance the mutual electronic synergism between Ag, MoO_3 and Na for selective production of propylene oxide.

Methane decomposition reaction has been studied at three different activation temperatures（500℃,800℃ and950℃）over mesoporous.alumina supported Ni–Fe and Mn–Fe based bimetallic *** co-impregnation of Ni on Fe/al2O3the activity of the catalyst was retained even at the high activation temperature at 950℃ and up to180 *** Ni promotion enhanced the reducibility of Fe/al2O3oxides showing higher catalytic activity with a hydrogen yield of 69%.The reactivity of bimetallic Mn and Fe over al2O3catalyst decreased at 800℃ and 950℃ activation *** studies revealed that the catalyst could be effectively recycled up to *** addition of O2（1 ml,2 ml,4 ml）in the feed enhanced substantially CH4conversion,the yield of hydrogen and the stability of the catalyst.

We demonstrated a new type of MAX phase material, chromium titanium aluminum carbide（Cr2TialC2） polymer film, to generate a passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser（EDFL）. The film thickness was measured to be around 45 μm, which was fabricated using the embedding method with polyvinyl alcohol（PVA） polymer as hoster. The saturable absorber（sA） film demonstrates a dual-wavelength passively Q-switched EDFL which operates at 1 531 nm and 1 560.19 nm, respectively. The Q-switching pulse duration could be varied from 2.46 μs to 770 ns, while the repetition rate varied from 92.76 kHz to 106.6 kHz with an increasing input pumping range from 154 mW to 300 mW. The maximum output power and pulse energy of 15.05 mW and 141.18 nJ were obtained at the maximum input power of 300 mW, respectively.

The adsorption of sulfur compounds,in commercially available LPG,has been studied using different adsorbents,namely Zeolite,Zn O and house made date pits activated carbon（DP-AC）. It was found that the three adsorbents are capable of effectively removing sulfur compounds at different feed sulfur concentrations. The effects of height to diameter aspect ratio of the adsorption column,flow rate of LPG and input sulfur concentrations have been studied. A first order kinetics model has been used to describe the adsorption,and the kinetics constant was found to increase by increasing the flow rate of LPG and decrease by increasing the amount of adsorbent used. The developed model described the system fairly well,and can be used in designing and s.aling-up of fixed-bed adsorption columns.

Three Keggin-type heteropolyanions, namely H3PMo12O40-13H2O, （NH4）3PMo12O40·4H2O and H3PW12O40·13H2O were prepared and tested in the ring-opening polymerization reaction of tetrahydrofuran. The effects of the counter-cation （H＋, NH4＋） and the peripheral atoms （Mo, W） on the polymerization were investigated. It has been found that when the protons of H3PMo12O40·13H2O were replaced by the ammonium cations the polymerization rate decreased dramatically. Whereas, when the peripheral atoms （Mo） were replaced by their homologous （W）, the polymerization rate increased twofold. As for the viscosity average molecular weight （My） of polymer products, it was found that the high molecular weight （7930） was obtained by using H3PW12O40·13H2O. The molecular weight （My） obtained by H3PMo12O40·13H2O and （NH4）H3PMo12O40·13H2O was 6470 and 6810, respectively.

High-grade pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia is a challenging diagnosis and itdoes not exhibit mass lesions. It is suspected based on changes in the mainpancreatic duct in magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography. sometimesonly an unclear duct shows in magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatographywith no focal strictures and upstream dilatation of the main pancreatic duct. serialpancreatic juice cytology is valuable in diagnosis of those patients.

The Riyadh metro project is one of the current megaprojects that aim to improve the transit systems in saudi *** consists of several metro lines with a total length of 176 km and 85 *** viaducts are considered as one of the main construction elements in the metro *** methods for viaducts construction have been used in the Riyadh metro project:precast beam,full span launching method,cast on-site,and segment method(precast segment method and BCM(balanced cantilever method)).The viaducts work consumes a large portion of a project’s time and ***,the competitive nature of the construction industry increases the need to improve the efficiency of construction ***,this paper takes the initial steps toward increasing the efficiency of viaduct construction methods through *** of construction processes provides a systematic tool that can be used for determining the resources,time,and cost of these *** simulation processes should focus on the main activities affecting this element’s execution for viaducts construction,such as segment storage,handling,transporting,and *** study highlights the viaducts construction methods and develops general discrete-event simulation models for the most commonly used viaducts construction methods in the Riyadh metro using AnyLogic simulation *** simulation models vis.alize and capture the interaction between the different activities and resources in a viaduct ***,the construction drawbacks can be ***,the simulation model can be manipulated by adding assumptions to develop more efficient construction methods in terms of time and cost in such projects.

Antibacterial and antifungal activities of different parts of Tribulus terrestris L. growing in Iraq

Antimicrobial activity of organic and aqueous extracts from fruits, leaves and roots of Tribulus terrestris L., an Iraqi medicinal plant used as urinary anti-infective in folk medicine, was examined against I l species of pathogenic and non-pathogenic microorganisms： staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, serratia marcescens, salmonella typhimurium, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans using microdilution method in 96 multiwell microtiter plates. all the extracts from the different parts of the plant showed antimicrobial activity against most tested microorganisms. The most active extract against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria was ethanol extract from the fruits with a minimal inhibitory concentration （MIC） value of 0.15 mg/ml against B. subtilis, B. cereus, P. vulgaris and C. diphtheriae. In addition, the same extract from the same plant part demonstrated the strongest antifungal activity against C. albicans with an MIC value of 0.15 mg/ml.
