Objective:To determine the involvement and the modulatory effects of IL-33 during Plasmodium berghei ANKA(PbA)***:PbA infection in male ICR mice was utilized as a model of *** circulating IL-33 levels were determined in blood plasma by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).After 24 hours post-inoculation of PbA,recombinant IL-33 and ST2,and antibodies against IL-33 and IgG treatments were administered daily for 3 *** expression and localization of IL-33 were assessed in organs generally affected by malaria via ***,histopathological examination was performed to assess the effects of the ***:The levels of systemic IL-33 were elevated at the critical phase of PbA ***,immunohistochemical analysis revealed a significant upregulation of IL-33 expression at the critical phase in the brain,lungs,and spleen of PbA-infected mice as compared to healthy *** with IL-33 protected against experimental cerebral malaria development and reduced pathological features in the brain and lungs of the PbA-infected ***:A potential critical role and involvement of IL-33 in PbA infection may hint at the resolution of immunopathological sequelae associated with malaria.

A Study of Underpinning Methods Used in the Construction Industry in Nigeria

本文的主要目的是调查研究生物柴油和常规2号柴油之间的比较,并且给出实验数据。众所周之,生物柴油及其混合物长期以来作为常规柴油的替代能源,大量的实验证明了其在效率和排放上的优势,但是在数值模拟方面没有得到足够的重视。本课题同时对生物柴油和常规柴油进行模拟,液态和蒸汽态的常规柴油道具被生物柴油取代,其结果表明生物柴油是一种非常有前途的柴油燃料。GT-power软件作为分析工具用于分析生物柴油的诸多性质,例如,密度、热导率、粘性、低热值,焓、温度、压力等等从实验以及期刊中得到的属性。一个重要因素是发动机的部件建模的引擎用来测量GT-power是提供一个空间使得流体的属性能够输入。对于四冲程的单一汽缸直接注射柴油机是以下列属性定义的,例如管道、入口和排量,这些都通过软件来实现。计算结束后得到如下结论和建议,结论: 1.建立了生物燃料的数据库;2.比较分析了普通燃料和生物燃料;3.生物燃料的利用使空气燃油比增加到12%;4.生物燃料的利用使单位燃油消耗降低了13%;建议: 1.应该做实验以证明数值模拟的正确性;2.在接下来的研究中,应该考虑废气排放;3.打破传统的燃油消耗,最主要的原因是由于发动机管道的尺寸。

Implementation of Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm in Matlab Code for Hyperelastic Characterization

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the applicability of Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm to determine material parameters in incompressible isotropic elastic strain-energy functions using combined tension and torsion loading. Simulation of rubber behavior was conducted from the governing equations of the deformation of a cylinder composed of isotropic hyperelastic incompressible materials. Four different forms of strain-energy function were considered based respectively on polynomial, exponential and logarithmic terms to reproduce load force (N) and torque (M) trends using natural rubber experimental data. After highlighting the minimization of the objective function generated in the fitting process, the study revealed that a particle swarm optimization algorithm could be successfully used to identify the best material parameters and characterize the behavior of rubber-like hyperelastic materials.

Towards an Efficient Information Systems Development Process and Management: A Review of Challenges and Proposed Strategies

Before Information Systems are developed, they must have undergone a process called Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using appropriate methodology. The SDLC consists of phases varying from author to author. However, an information systems project can only be successful with intense interaction amongst project manager, systems analyst, system designers and the end users. Viewed from the project manager’s perspective, the SDLC lacks the essence of project management activities. Similarly, end users involvement is not clearly specified. The main aim of this paper is to propose a framework for information systems management and development process which accommodates the views of the different participants. Furthermore, the paper sharpens the concept of conventional SDLC, on the basis of the proposed framework. In addition, tools and methods that are appropriate for the implementation of the framework are herein discussed.

The foundation for any software system is its architecture. Software architecture is a view of the system that includes the system’s major components, the behaviour of those components as visible to the rest of the system, and the ways in which the components interact and coordinate to achieve the overall system’s goal. Every efficient software system arises as a result of sound architectural basement. This requires the use of good architecture engineering practices and methods. This paper recognizes software architecture practice as a discipline pervading all phases of software development and also presents an enhanced model for software engineering process which provides an avenue for speedy, efficient and timely delivery of software products to their intended users. The integration of software architecture into the phases of software development process in a generic software life cycle is also contained in this research report. This is to enable software engineers and system analysts to use effective software architecture practices and to employ appropriate methodology during the software engineering process.

Hepatitis B Virus in Cirrhosis and Primary Livers Cancers

Introduction: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a public health problem in sub-Saharan Africa, due to its frequency and progression to complications such as cirrhosis and/or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Objective: To help improve the management of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Patients and Methods: This was a 34-month cross-sectional study conducted in the Hepato-Gastroenterology Department of the CHU de l’Amitié Sino-centra-fricaine in Bangui. It included patients of both sexes aged 18 years or older with a diagnosis of HBV-related cirrhosis and/or HCC. Results: During the study period, 1344 patients were admitted to hospital, 681 of them for chronic liver disease (51%). Among patients admitted for chronic liver disease, in particular cirrhosis and/or HCC, HBV was implicated in 288 cases (42.30%), of whom 170 (24.96%) met our inclusion criteria. These included 123 men (72.35%) and 47 women (27.65%). The sex ratio was 2.61. The mean age of our patients was 40 years (±11 years) with extremes of 18 and 76 years. Cirrhosis was observed in 101 cases (59.41%), HCC on cirrhosis in 59 cases (34.70%) and HCC in 10 cases (5.89%). Cirrhosis was classified as Child-Pugh B in 62 cases and C in 20 cases. HCC on cirrhosis was classified according to BCLC stage C in 7 cases and stage D in 52 cases. Conclusion: HBV is the leading cause of cirrhosis and HCC in the Central African Republic. Chronic liver disease is diagnosed at the advanced stage of the disease. Hence the importance of early detection, prevention through vaccination at birth, and management of infected patients.

On the Simulation of the Influence of Defects on Immersed Plane Periodic Multilayer Viscoelastic Media

This work deals with the study of a plane periodic multilayer structure in which the elementary stack consists of two plates in contact: one in aluminum (AL) and the other one in polyethylene (PE). These isotropic materials, present a high acoustic impedance contrast. The attenuation of the longitudinal and transverse waves is taken into account in the polyethylene but neglected in the aluminum plate. The effect of different defects is analyzed. Firstly, we focus on the effect of the presence of grease inclusion in the polyethylene plate (considering the two plates of the elementary stack in perfect contact). Secondly, the effect of disbond simulated by the insertion of a thin Teflon layer between the interfaces of the two layers constituting the elementary stack of the multilayer structure is investigated. Finally, the effect of the stacking sequences of the multilayer is analyzed. In order to obtain the effective acoustic parameters of polyethylene layer, allowing to evaluate the reflection and transmission coefficients using the stiffness matrix method developed by Rokhlin et al., four homogenization models are analyzed, then the best one to our configuration is chosen. The comparison of the simulation results is carried out.
