Introduction: Lyell’s syndrome (SL), called Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis is one of the most serious forms of medication accidents. It is an acute, rare pathology, its incidence is estimated at 1 to 2 cases out of one million inhabitants per year and its evolution can be fatal. Materials and Methods: We report the observation of a 60-year-old patient, with no significant pathological history, admitted to our intensive care unit at the Renaissance University Teaching Hospital in N’Djamena for the treatment of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis. In whom the onset of symptoms dates back to few hours after vaccination against COVID-19 with Ag Johnson and Johnson. Results: An ophthalmology opinion was requested and the patient was put on Fucithalmic. In our case, in addition to the advanced age of the patient (60 years old), her SCORTEN was ≥5. Conclusion: The late management as well as the absence of a specific department for severe burns, which condition the presence of a technical plate was fatal to her despite multidisciplinary care: Resuscitators, Traumato-Orthopedist and ophthalmologist.

Long-term effect of fire on herbaceous species diversity in oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) forests in northern Iran

We studied the long-term impacts of natural burning on herbaceous species diversity 37 years after a fire occurred in the Roudbar forests of Guilan Province, northern Iran. Numerous studies have examined short-term changes in understory vegetation following wildfire; however, very few long-term studies are available or changes inferred from retrospective studies based on chro- nosequences. For this study, 170 ha of forest （85 ha, burned areas; 85 ha, unburned areas） were surveyed. Because the 1000 m2 plots were too large for detailed measurements of herbaceous species, we determined a sub-sample size according to the Whittaker＇s nested plot sampling protocol and minimal areas method. Hence, sub-plots of 32 m2 were used for herbaceous species measurements, which consisted of percent cover of each species based on the Domin criterion. We measured plant diversity （Shannon-Wiener index）, spe- cies richness （Margalef＇s index）, and evenness （Smith-Wilson index）. Mean percent cover, together with diversity, richness and even- ness, increased markedly in burned areas compared to unburned controls. This suggests that the biodiversity of these forests could be restored within 37 years after fire. However, the abundance of invasive species such as Rubus fruticosus and Bromus benekenii increased significantly in burned areas, but these could be controlled by relevant silvicultural operations.

Isolation and efficacy of entomopathogenic fungus(Metarhizium anisopliae)for the control of Aedes albopictus Skuse larvae:suspected dengue vector in Pakistan

Objective:To isolate the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhixium anisopliae(***) in the local environment,and evaluate its efficacy against the suspected dengue vector Aedes albopictus in ***:According to the standard procedure,*** was isolated from the dead mosquitoes which were collected from the field or dead after the *** was performed to determine its ***:The results indicated that *** had larvicidal effect with LC,value 1.09×10~5 and LC_(50) value 1.90×10^(13) while it took 45.41 h to kill 50% of tested ***:Taking long time to kill 50%population when compare with the synthetic insecticides,is the only drawback for the use of entomopathogenic fungus but these bio-pesticides are safe for the use.

Hazard maps are essential tools to aid decision makers in land-use planning,sustainable infrastructure development,and emergency *** the availability of historical data,there has been no attempt to produce hazard maps for *** cooperation with the World Bank,this study investigated the natural and anthropogenic hazards that affect *** objective was to assess the hazards that face Kuwait and map the hazards of most *** maps depicting the spatial distribution of hazard-prone areas are discussed in this *** assessment maps were generated using multiple datasets and techniques,including meteorological data,satellite imagery,and *** profiling identified a total of 25 hazards,of which five“priority”hazards were explored in detail:(1)surface water flooding;(2)dust storms and sand encroachment;(3)drought;(4)air pollution;and(5)oil *** results of this study can aid decision makers in targeting the hazards of most *** developed maps are valuable tools for emergency response and hazard mitigation.

The application of p-aminophenol as a suitable mediator, as a sensitive and selective voltammetric sensor for the determination of hydrazine using square wave voltammetric method were described. The modified multiwall carbon nanotubes paste electrode exhibited a good electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of hydrazine at pH = 7.0. The catalytic oxidation peak currents showed a linear dependence of the peaks current to the hydrazine concentrations in the range of 0.5–175 μmol/L with a correlation coefficient of 0.9975. The detection limit (S/N = 3) was estimated to be 0.3 μmol/L of hydrazine. The relative standard deviations for 0.7 and 5.0 μmol/L hydrazine were 1.7 and 1.1%, respectively. The modified electrode showed good sensitivity and selectivity. The diffusion coefficient (D = 9.5 × 10–4 cm2/s) and the kinetic parameters such as the electron transfer coefficient (α = 0.7) of hydrazine at the surface of the modified electrode were determined using electrochemical approaches. The electrode was successfully applied for the determination of hydrazine in real samples with satisfactory results.

This paper introduced an efficient compression technique that uses the compressive sensing(CS)method to obtain and recover sparse electrocardiography(ECG)*** recovery of the signal can be achieved by using sampling rates lower than the Nyquist frequency.A novel analysis was proposed in this *** apply CS on ECG signal,the first step is to generate a sparse signal,which can be obtained using Modified Discrete Cosine Transform(MDCT)on the given *** transformation is a promising key for other transformations used in this search domain and can be considered as the main contribution of this paper.A small number of wavelet components can describe the ECG signal as related work to obtain a sparse *** technique for ECGsignal compression,which is a novel area of research,is *** signals are introduced randomly between any successive beats of the ***-BIH database can be represented as the experimental database in this domain of ***-BIH database consists of various ECG signals involving a patient and standard ECG *** can be considered as the simulation tool used in this *** proposed method’s uniqueness was inspired by the compression ratio(CR)and achieved by *** performance measurement of the recovered signal was done by calculating the percentage root mean difference(PRD),mean square error(MSE),and peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR)besides the calculation of ***,the simulation results indicated that this work is one of the most important works in ECG signal compression.

Background: Urinary Tract infections and pus are major public health problems. The evolution of bacterial resistance to antibiotics makes the treatment of these infections problematic. This is why this study is undertaken to identify and evaluate the resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to antibiotics. Methods: This is a prospective study carried out from December 2020 to November 2021. The germs were isolated on the agar supplemented with cetrimide and identified by the API 20 NE gallery method according to the manufacturer’s protocol. The strains’ resistance profiles were determined by the diffusion method on Mueller-Hinton according to the criteria EUCAST- 2021. Results: A total of 46/1467 (3.13%) Pseudomonas aeruginosa were identified, of which 29/1008 (2.87%) were urinary tract infections and 17/459 (3.70%) were pus. The high resistances were: 97.8% to ceftazidim, 91.3% to aztreonam, 93.5% to cefepim, 82.6% to piperacillin, 58.7% to levofloxacin, 52.2% to amikacin, 47.8% to tazobactam-piperacillin, 47.8% to tobramycin and 43.5% to ciprofloxacin. Low resistance was only 2.2% to fosfomycin, 2.2% to colistin and 15.2% to imipenem. Conclusion: This study reveals the considerable resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to commonly used antibiotics, and thus compromises the empirical treatment practiced in hospitals. This result motivates the need to carry out susceptibility testing of isolates before any prescription of antimicrobials.

3D TECA hydrogel reduces cellular senescence and enhances fibroblasts migration in wound healing

This study was designed to investigate the effect of 3 D TECA hydrogel on the inflammatory-induced senescence marker, and to assess the influence of the gel on the periodontal lig-ament fibroblasts(PDLFs) migration in wound healing in vitro. PDLFs were cultured with20 ng/ml TNF-α to induce inflammation in the presence and absence of 50 μM 3 D TECA gelfor 14 d. The gel effect on the senescence maker secretory associated-β-galactosidase(SA-β-gal) activity was measured by a histochemical staining. Chromatin condensation and DNAsynthesis of the cells were assessed by 4,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole and 5-ethynyl-2-deoxyuridine fluorescent staining respectively. For evaluating fibroblasts migration, scratchwound healing assay and Pro-Plus Imaging software were used. The activity of senescencemarker, SA-β-gal, was positive in the samples with TNF-α-induced inflammation. SA-β-galpercentage is suppressed( > 65%, P aling of periodontal tissues.
