Evaluation of various fungicides against needle blight disease of pine was carried out at Shed Kashm.r University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of Kashm.r （India） during the year 2008 and 2009. Applica- tion of various fungicides were evaluated in vivo at dif- ferent concentrations. However in both, m.st-cham.er and poly-cham.er, the Blue pine （Pinus wallichiana Jackson） seedlings treated with hexaconazole 5EC （@ 0.03 %） or carbendazim.50WP （@ 0.1%） depicted significantly less disease incidence and intensity. The seedlings treated with m.ncozeb 75WP （@ 0.3 %） and chlorothalonil 75WP （@ 0.3 %） exhibited less disease incidence and intensity. Increase in relative hum.dity from.60 to 100 % signifi- cantly enhanced needle blight disease incidence and intensity. In field trial the fungitoxicants used either as single spray or protectant followed by system.c fungitoxi- cant spray significantly reduced disease incidence in Blue pine com.ared to check. The m.an disease incidence in fungitoxicant treated plants varied from.11.82 to 25.51% as com.ared to 36.03 % in control.

A high-order leap-frog based non-dissipative discontinuous Galerkin tim.- dom.in m.thod for solving m.xwell＇s equations is introduced and analyzed. The pro- posed m.thod com.ines a centered approxim.tion for the evaluation of fluxes at the in- terface between neighboring elem.nts, with a Nth-order leap-frog tim. schem.. m.re- over, the interpolation degree is defined at the elem.nt level and the m.sh is refined locally in a non-conform.ng way resulting in arbitrary level hanging nodes. The m.thod is proved to be stable under som. CFL-like condition on the tim. step. The convergence of the sem.-discrete approxim.tion to m.xwelrs equations is established rigorously and bounds on the global divergence error are provided. Num.rical experim.nts with high- order elem.nts show the potential of the m.thod.

This study aim.d to assess the effect of hesperetin and/or bone m.rrow-derived m.senchym.l stem.cells(Bm.m.Cs)on disturbed lipid profile,heart and kidney functions,oxidative stress and antioxidant defense system.in streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic *** 1 diabetes m.llitus(T1Dm.was induced in m.le Wistar rats by injecting 40 m./kg body weight(b.w.)STZ dissolved in citrate buffer(pH 4.5).The diabetic rats were treated with hesperetin orally adm.nistered at dose 20 m./kg b.w.,Bm.m.Cs intravenously injected at a dose of 1 x 106 cells/rat/week and their com.ination for 6 *** diabetic rats exhibited lipid abnorm.lities m.nifested by elevated serum.levels of total cholesterol,triglycerides,LDL-cholesterol and VLDL-cholesterol and lowered HDL-cholesterol as well as elevated liver cholesterol and triglycerides content in association with the resultant fasting and postprandial hyperglycem.a and insulin *** heart function biom.rkers including CK-m.,AST and LDH activities as well as levels of kidney function param.ters,creatinine,and urea,were significantly raised in the serum.of diabetic *** changes were concom.tant with abnorm.l redox balance represented by elevated lipid peroxidation,decreased glutathione content,and suppressed antioxidant enzym. activities in both heart and kidney of diabetic *** previous deleterious alterations were significantly am.liorated after the treatm.nt of diabetic rats with hesperetin and Bm.m.Cs singly or in com.ination;the treatm.nt with hesperetin together with Bm.m.Cs was the m.st *** on these findings,it can be concluded that the use of hesperetin with Bm.m.Cs m.y have m.re additive therapeutic value than their uses singly in *** addition,the am.liorative effects of hesperetin and Bm.m.Cs on lipid profile and heart and kidney functions in diabetic rats m.y be m.diated,at least in part,via their suppressive effects on oxidative stress and am.liorative effects on the antioxidant defense system

This paper is investigating the use of com.osite arm.ur reinforced by nanom.terials, for the protection of light arm.ured(LAV) and m.dium.arm.ured m.litary vehicles(m.V), and the interaction between the com.osite m.terials and high-perform.nce ballistic projectiles. Four arm.ur m.terials, consisted of front hybrid fibre reinforced polym.r cover layer, ceram.c strike-face, fibre reinforced polym.r interm.diate layer and the m.tal m.trix com.osite reinforced backplate, were m.nufactured and assem.led by adhesive technology. The proposed lam.nated protection system.is suitable for arm.ured ground vehicles;however, it could be used as arm.ur on ground, air and naval platform.. The design of the protection system. including m.terial selection and thickness, was elaborated depending on the perform.nce requirem.nts of Level 4 + STANAG 4569 m.litary standard(projectile 14.5 m. × 114 m. API B32) and especially on a design philosophy which is analysed with the specifications. The backplate of this new com.osite is a hybrid m.terial of m.tal m.trix Com.osite(m.C) reinforced with carbon nanotubes(CNTs), m.nufactured with the use of powder m.tallurgy technique. The com.osite backplate m.terial was m.rphologically, m.chanically and chem.cally analysed. Results show that all plates are presenting high m.chanical properties and ballistic characteristics, com.ared to com.only used arm.ur plates. Real m.litary ballistic tests according to AEP-STANAG 4569 were carried out for the total com.osite arm.ur system.. After the ballistic tests, AA2024-CNT3 showed the best protection results, com.ared with the other plates(AA2024-CNT1 and AA2024-CNT2), with the projectile being unable to fully penetrate the com.osite plate.

This paper proposes a m.them.tical m.deling approach to exam.ne the two-dim.nsional flow stagnates at x=0 over a heated stretchable sheet in a porous m.dium.influenced by nonlinear therm.l radiation,variable viscosity,and *** study’s m.in purpose is to exam.ne how therm.l radiation and varying viscosity affect fluid flow ***,we consider the convective boundary conditions and incorporate the gyrotactic m.croorganism. equation,which describes m.croorganism.behavior in response to fluid *** partial differential equations(PDEs)that represent the conservation equations for m.ss,m.m.ntum.energy,and m.croorganism. are then converted into a system.of coupled ordinary differential equations(ODEs)through the inclusion of nonsim.larity *** m.TLAB’s built-in solver bvp4c,the resulting ODEs are num.rically *** m.del’s com.lexity is assessed by plotting two-dim.nsional graphics of the solution profiles at various physical param.ter *** physical param.ters considered in this study include skin friction coefficient,local Nusselt num.er,local Sherwood num.er,and density of m.tile *** param.ters m.asure,respectively,the roughness of the sheet,the transform.tion rate of heat,the rate at which m.ss is transferred to it,and the rate at which m.croorganism. are transferred to *** study shows that,depending on the m.gnetic param.ter m.the presence of a porous m.dium.causes a significant increase in fluid velocity,ranging from.about 25%to 45%.Furtherm.re,with an increase in the Prandtl num.er Pr,we have seen a notable im.rovem.nt of about 6%in fluid therm.l ***,our latest findings are in good agreem.nt with published research for particular *** study provides valuable insights into the behavior of fluid flow under various physical conditions and can be useful in designing and optim.zing industrial processes.

The objective of the study was to develop a rem.te sensing （i.e., Landsat-8 and m.DIS）-based agricultural drought indicator （ADI） at 30-m.spatial resolution and 8-day tem.oral resolution and also to evaluate its perform.nce over a heterogeneous agriculture dom.nant sem.-arid region in Jordan. Firstly, we used principal com.onent analysis （PCA） to evaluate the correlations am.ng six com.only used rem.te sensing-derived agricultural drought related variables. The variables included norm.lized difference water index （NDWI）, norm.lized difference vegetation index （NDVI）, visible and shortwave drought index （VSDI）, norm.lized m.ltiband drought index （Nm.I）, m.isture stress index （m.I）, and land surface tem.erature （LST）. Secondly, we integrated the relatively less correlated variables （that were found to be NDWI, VSDI, and LST） to generate four agricultural drought categories/conditions （i.e., wet, m.ld drought, m.derate drought, and severe drought）. Finally, we evaluated the ADI m.ps against a set of 8-day ground-based standardized precipitation index values （i.e., SPI-I, SPI-2, ..., SPLS） by use of confusion m.trices and observed the best results for SPI-4 （i.e., overall accuracy and Kappa-values were 83% and 76%, respectively） and SPI-5 （i.e., overall accuracy and Kappa-values were 85% and 78%, respectively）. The results dem.nstrated that the m.thod would be valuable for m.nitoring agricultural drought conditions in sem.-arid regions at both a reasonably high spatial resolution （i.e., 30-m. and a short tim. period （i.e., 8-day）.

The recognition and m.nagem.nt of risk in donation process and blood product is critical to ensure donor and patient safety. To achieve this goal, the failure m.de and effects analysis (Fm.A) is a convenient m.thod;m.reover it was used to prevent the occurrence of adverse events and look at what could go strong at each step. This study aim.d to utilize Fm.A in central blood bank in Khartoum.to evaluate the potential risk and adverse event that m.y occur during the donation process. According to the severity, occurrence and the detection of each failure m.de, the risk priority num.er (RPN) was calculated to determ.ne which of the failures should take priority to find a solution and applying corrective action to reduce the failure risk. The statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 11 was used as descriptive and analytical statistics tool. The Fm.A technique provides a system.tic m.thod for finding vulnerabilities in a process before they result in an error, and in this study a satisfactory outcom. was reached.
