In this paper,we theoretically investigate the total optical coefficient(TOAC)considering 1S-2P and 2S-2P conduction subband transitions in a single parabolic quantum well(SPQW)with an on-center hydrogen-like *** the framework of the effective-mass approximation,the Schrödinger equation is solved numerically to obtain the eigenvalues and their corresponding eigenvectors using the finite difference *** calculations are performed for finite confinement potential height,taking into account the dielectric and effective mass mismatches between GaN and InGaN materials under the considered electric field and temperature *** temperature dependence of the effective mass,dielectric constant and band gap energy are obtained *** the one hand,the results show that a significant shift is produced with the variation of both the temperature and the intensity of the electric *** the other hand,the absorption spectrum is shifted to lower energies with increasing both electric field strength and ***,its amplitude is enhanced with an increase in the intensity of the electric field,and show a slight drop with increasing temperature for the two optical transitions *** results show that such parameters can be used to adjust the optical properties of single parabolic Quantum Well for solar cell applications.

This study aims to analyze mixed convection in a square cavity with two moving vertical walls by finite volume *** cavity filled with Non-Newtonian fluid of Bingham model is heated from below and cooled by the other *** study has been conducted for certain parameters of Reynolds number(Re=1-100),Richardson number(Ri=1-20),Prandtl number(Pr=1-500),and Bingham number has been studied from 0 to *** results indicate that the increase in yield stress drops the heat transfer and the flow become flatter,while increasing Reynolds number augments *** convective transport is dominant when increasing Richardson number which leads to enhance heat transfer in the cavity for both Newtonian and Non-Newtonian fluid.A correlation of Nusselt number is given in function of different parameters.

Objective: To report our experience of a contemporary series of patients who underwent radical orchidectomy for non-palpable testicular masses, in order to comment on their malignant potential and identify any factors predictive of a malignant outcome. Materials and Methods: We reviewed the case-notes of patients who underwent radical inguinal orchidectomy over a 22-month period between January 2010 and October 2011. Results: A total of 71 patients were analysed, with a mean (range) age of 45 years (17 - 82). Overall, 41 (57.7%) orchidectomies were malignant and 30 (42.3%) were benign. There were 20 (28%) non-palpable testicular masses found incidentally on ultrasound, and of these 40% were malignant and 60% were benign. In total 6 of these non-palpable lesions were <1 cm in size, and of these 66.6% were malignant and 33.3% were benign. The majority of tumours were in patients under the age of 50, but there was no correlation between the lesion size and the risk of a malignant outcome. Conclusion: In view of the significant rate of malignancy in non-palpable testicular masses we recommend surgical intervention over surveillance alone. However, as the majority of these lesions may eventually turn out to be benign, we suggest that testis-sparing surgery is the optimal approach, and should be performed in centres where the required radiological, histopathological, and surgical expertise exists.

Smart phone applications (apps) for radiologists are on the rise. Not only do they assist the radiologist in reference to information but they can also aid in their day-to-day functioning too most notably through image viewing apps known as Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) viewers. These kinds of apps signal a transition towards an increasingly mobile medical environment in what could be an exciting but cautious time for radiologists as these apps are not without their own concerns. In this review we provide basic information on how to create an app, highlight the current state of play of pivotal radiology apps and discuss the legal issues surrounding them.

In this article, we present the study of a double-pass air insulated by crushed millet stem mixed with gum arabic. The study is carried out based on mathematical models obtained by writing energy conservation laws in the various components of the system, which made it possible to determine the evolution of the air temperature as a function of the length of the absorber and to make a comparison with the experimental results. After comparing the results obtained with those found in the literature, the influence of some physical and geometrical parameters on the performance of the solar thermal collector is presented.
