In this study,we focus on the numerical modelling of the interaction between waves and submerged structures in the presence of a uniform flow *** the same and opposite senses of wave propagation are *** main objective is an understanding of the effect of the current and various geometrical parameters on the reflection *** wave used in the study is based on potential theory,and the submerged structures consist of two rectangular breakwaters positioned at a fixed distance from each other and attached to the bottom of a wave *** numerical modeling approach employed in this work relies on the Boundary Element Method(BEM).The results are compared with experimental data to validate the *** findings of the study demonstrate that the double rectangular breakwater configuration exhibits superior wave attenuation abilities if compared to a single rectangular breakwater,particularly at low ***,the study reveals that wave mitigation is more pronounced when the current and wave propagation are coplanar,whereas it is less effective in the case of opposing current.

The present work is devoted to electrical and optical study of a point-plane atmospheric pressure corona discharge reactor in humid air powered by pulsed high voltage supply. The corona current and the injected energy are analyzed as a function of several parameters such as applied voltage and humidity rate. Then, investigations based on emission spectroscopy analysis were used in UV range (from 200 nm to about 400 nm). The main observed excited species were the second positive (SPS), the first negative (FNS) systems and OH(A-X) rotational bands. The latter band was used to simulate the rotational temperature (Tr), whereas the N2+ (FNS) band was used to determine the vibrational temperature (Tv). The electron temperature (Te ) is determined from the ratio of line intensities of the spectral bands of both N2+ FNS at 391.4 nm and N2SPS at 394.4 nm. The rotational, vibrational and electronic temperatures are analyzed as a function of above parameters (applied voltage, frequency and hygrometry rate) near the anodic tip. As well we study the axial variation of electronic temperature for a fixed applied voltage at 6.4 kV, frequency at 10 kHz and 100% of humidity. It is found that the rotational, vibrational and electronic temperatures increased with increasing applied voltage, frequency and humidity rate. The increase of rate hygrometry for an inter-electrode distance fixed at 10 mm causes an increase in both the amplitude of the corona current discharge and the energy injected in corona discharge. This is indicative of more intense reactive plasma while increasing hygrometry rate.

Lime-induced iron chlorosis is a major nutritional disorder causing severe plant growth and yield reduction in the calcareous soils of *** understanding the behavior of key metabolic functions of peas on calcareous soils,the identification of useful traits of tolerance,and the exploration of the genotypic differences in response to this constraint remain the most efficient approaches due to their coast,environmental benefits,and *** this purpose,a greenhouse experiment was conducted on three pea genotypes(Alexandra:Alex,Douce de provence:DP,and Merveille de Kelvedon:MK)cultivated on calcareous soil(Fe-deficient)and fertile soil(control).Plant growth,SPAD index,iron nutrition and distribution,photosynthesis,and antioxidant enzymes were deeply analyzed to discriminate genotypic ***-induced iron deficiency reduced SPAD index,plant growth,net photosynthesis,and tissue Fe content against a significant stimulation of the oxidative stress indicators,H2O2 and Malondialdehyde(MDA).Moreover,we reported a significant induction of SOD and CAT activity in shoots and roots of the Alexandra *** use efficiency increased on calcareous soil and clearly discriminated the studied *** genotype was found to be the most tolerant to lime-induced iron *** genotype protects its tissues against oxidative stress by stimulating enzyme activities(SOD and CAT)and develops significant efficiency of Fe uptake,translocation to shoots and use when cultivated on calcareous soil.

In the last decade,North Africa has witnessed significant population growth,particularly those bordering the Mediterranean *** led to increased demand for groundwater,which is an essential source for various water uses such as drinking water supplies and ***,human activities play a crucial role in the different quantitative and qualitative changes in ***,climate changes such as a decrease in precipitation have also led to a shortage of water resources and a decline in the groundwater *** paper presents the impact of climate changes on groundwater resources in the Ain Azel region,Setif,northeastern *** analysis of longterm spatiotemporal variability in rainfall over 63 years(1958–2021)revealed a significant decline in groundwater recharge,especially after *** contrast,the Pettitt and Mann–Kendall tests show increased temperatures with breaks between 1984 and 1986.A piezometric analysis of the alluvial aquifer demonstrated a significant decline in groundwater levels in the last 20 *** analysis showed that groundwater in the region is dominated by Ca–Mg–Cl water type,which indicates the presence of water salinity *** Quality Index(WQI)analysis showed the deterioration of groundwater in the area,which may be caused by several factors:brine intrusion from the Salt Lake(Sebkha)in the north;the dissolution of evaporites(Triassic)and/or anthropogenic sources of agricultural and industrial *** findings provide an overview summarizing the state of groundwater,which will help improve groundwater resource management in the region in the coming years.

A new phosphate, Na2.5Y0.5Mg7(PO4)6 was synthesized as single crystals by the flux method and as a powdered sample by the Pechini technique, and investigated by single crystal X-ray diffraction, charge distribution (CD) and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The elementary mechanistic model of adsorption and sorption is based on a simple hypothesis: the adsorption sites are uniformly distributed on the surface of the pore walls in the adsorbent, the sorption sites are uniformly distributed in the volume of the polymer. In this first paper we will analyze the simple case where one solute molecule is only allowed to occupy a single adsorption or sorption site. A common elementary occupation law of the free sites is assumed: the differential increase of the number of the adsorbed/sorbed molecules is proportional to the differential increase of the activity of the solute and the concentration of the free (non-occupied) sites in the solid. The proportionality coefficient is called affinity coefficient depending on the solid/solute couple and on the temperature and independent of the concentration of the solute. In adsorption the concentration of the free sites is a surface concentration on the pore walls and in sorption it is expressed by the molarity. The simple mono- layer adsorption law of Jovanovi? is obtained: n = n_0(1-e^(-KP)) where n is the number of moles adsorbed when the pressure is P. n0is the total number of adsorption sites and K the affinity coefficient for adsorption. The sorption law writes: a=1/k[?/(1-?)] +(1-r)/kln[1+1/r?/(1-?)] where ?, r and k hold respectively for the volume fraction of the solvent in the polymer, for the ratio of the molar volumes of the solvent to the elementary polymer chain containing one single adsorption site and for the sorption affinity coefficient. The confrontation of these equations to experimental isotherms is satisfactory in comparison with the classical Langmuir and Flory–Huggins equations: the best results are obtained for adsorption of vapors on a 5A zeolite and for all analyzed sorption results.
