Due to the ability to model various complex phenomena where classical calculus failed, fractional calculus is getting enormous attention recently. There are several approaches available for numerical approximations of various types of fractional differential equations. For fractional diffusion equations spectral collocation is one of the efficient and most popular ap-proximation techniques. In this research, we introduce spectral collocation method based on Lagrange’s basis polynomials for numerical approximations of two-dimensional (2D) space fractional diffusion equations where spatial fractional derivative is described in Riemann-Liouville sense. We consider four different types of nodes to generate Lagrange’s basis polynomials and as collocation points in the proposed spectral collocation technique. Spectral collocation method converts the diffusion equation into a system of ordinary differential equations (ODE) for time variable and we use 4th order Runge-Kutta method to solve the resulting system of ODE. Two examples are considered to verify the efficiency of different types of nodes in the proposed method. We compare approximated solution with exact solution and find that Lagrange’s spectral collocation method gives very high accuracy approximation. Among the four types of nodes, nodes from Jacobi polynomial give highest accuracy and nodes from Chebyshev polynomials of 1st kind give lowest accuracy in the proposed method.

Recently many research works have been conducted and published regarding fractional order differential equations. There are several approaches available for numerical approximations of the solution of fractional order diffusion equations. Spectral collocation method based on Lagrange’s basis polynomials to approximate numerical solutions of one-dimensional (1D) space fractional diffusion equations are introduced in this research paper. The proposed form of approximate solution satisfies non-zero Dirichlet’s boundary conditions on both boundaries. Collocation scheme produce a system of first order Ordinary Differential Equations (ODE) from the fractional diffusion equation. We applied this method with four different sets of collocation points to compare their performance.

This study is conducted to investigate the occurrence of various geological features, and to study the geology and soil characteristics of the study area. To achieve the objective of this research collection, different samples from different locations in study area were collected, analyzed in laboratory, and the results are compared with each other. The main rock types found in the study area were metamorphic rock (Gneiss) and igneous rock (Granite), and the main soil types found were Loam, sandy and silty soils with different soil structures (e.g. crumbling, platy, single grain, granular and prismatic). Calcium carbonate, Iron oxides and different sizes of sediments were also seen in the soil profile, where the size of sediments were changing as it was course size sediments and gravels near the mountain range and as going far from the mountain it was changed to fine size sediments like sand, silt and clay. The present experiment was conducted to evaluate the influence of Lamiaceae herbs companion planting on growth and secondary metabolites changes in tomato plants. Furthermore, the free amino acid changes in tomato due to companion planting were also evaluated using tomato-basil companionship as a model. Four-week-old seedlings of tomato were grown in a pot containing autoclaved commercial soil with basil, peppermint and hyssop as a companion plant separately in different density. Four weeks after companion planting, tomato plants under 1:1 companionship with the herbs showed significant increase in dry weights of shoots compared to control. Higher density of the herbs on the other hand expressed a growth suppression on tomato possibly due to nutrient competition. By the LC-MS analysis, shikimic acid and apigenin were identified as the major secondary compounds found in tomato plants and 1:1 companionship with basil seemed to have a positive influence on their content in tomato shoots. On the other hand, in case of peppermint and hyssop, the increase was observed in all parts of tomato plants. In addition, promotion in several free amino acid contents was also observed in tomato plants with basil companion planting compared to control. Thus, tomato plants grown with herb companion planting in 1:1 ratio seems to have a positive impact on growth of tomato. This positive influence might be related to the increase in some secondary metabolites and changes in the free amino acids observed in this study.

Agricultural robotics is a comparatively new field. Recently, it has gotten special attention because of agricultural labor shortages and rising labor costs. With the increasing operational use of agricultural robots, the need for a dedicated robotic simulator for such activity has been noted here. The need of a dedicated and specialty simulator for agricultural robotics research is the main focus area of this paper. Moreover, limitations have been pointed out when conventional robot simulators are used directly in agricultural settings. In a nutshell, it has been tried to emphasize that a dedicated simulator for agricultural robotics would be a timely advance and would accelerate the growth of agricultural robots.

Tangi Mahi-par is a fault valley from previews geological period (Pleistocene) where the Kabul basin was a lake and occupied by water, and after the formation of Tangi Mahi-par fault valley, water was drained from this way. Therefore, this research is essential to elucidate the different rocks types and structures, with no or scarce previous research’s in this mountainous area. The main objective of this study is to selected rock type, rocky structures and different sizes of river sediments transported by rivers discharge from the previous geological periods. There are different types of sediments, terrace remnants, rocks and geological structures which are generally consist of Limestone and Gneiss, where the limestone is likely belonging to the Thythes ocean remnants in Afghanistan and contains Ammonites fossils. In some parts volcanic breccias, it shows the old volcanic eruptions, Stalactite and stalagmite Carbonitic sediments related to limestones are also present there. In addition, there are different types of geological structures such as Anticline, Syncline, dyke, Sill, Apophysis, Graben and Horst. Unconformities and horizontal layers related to Khengal and Cottagay series passing from this area are located one by another.

Bio-Diesel from Mustard Oil: A Renewable Alternative Fuel for Small Diesel Engines

This paper represents the prospect of mustard oil as a renewable and alternative fuel. To cope up with present load-shedding situation and to reduce the dependency on imported fuel, Bangladesh government is encour- aging the use of renewable energy sources. Since diesel engines have versatile uses including small irrigation pumping systems, and standby small electricity generators, use of diesel fuel is much higher than any other gasoline fuels. In Bangladesh mustard oil has been in use as edible oil throughout the country. Mustard is a widely growing plant in Bangladesh and every year the production of mustard seed exceeds the demand. So the endeavor was to use the surplus mustard oil as an alternative to diesel fuel. Fuel properties are determined in the fuel testing laboratory with standard procedure. An experimental set-up is then made to study the performance of a small diesel engine in the heat engine laboratory using different blends of bio-diesel converted from mustard oil. It is found that bio-diesel has slightly different properties than diesel fuel. It is also observed that with bio-diesel, the engine is capable of running without difficulty but with a deviation from its optimum performance. Initially different blends of bio-diesel (i.e. B20, B30, B50 etc,) have been used to avoid complicated modification of the engine or the fuel supply system. Finally, a comparison of engine performance for different blends of bio-diesel has been carried out to determine the optimum blend for different operating conditions.

As power system interconnections become more prevalent, there has been an increase in use of thyristor controlled shunt connected compensation devices for dynamic power compensation and enhancement of real power transmission capacity. In this paper, an enhancement technique of real power transfer capacity of transmission lines is presented. A SVC （static var compensator） is designed and applied to a simple power system for this purpose. Increase in power flow and improvement in bus voltage profile are observed after using the SVC. Stability analysis of the system after experiencing fault as well as consequent fault clearance by time domain analysis has also beeu performed and satisfactory results are obtained.

Flexible thermoelectric(TE)materials that convert heat into electricity have been widely used in wearable electronics and other flexible *** this work,inorganic TE pillars were combined with thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)to assemble a flexible string-shaped TE generator(TEG)for the fabrication of the thermoelectric fabric(TEF).Moreover,finite element analysis(FEA)was used to optimize the dimensions of the TE string and evaluate its *** FEA results showed that the inter-pillar spacing significantly affected the temperature difference,the output voltage and the internal resistance.A maximum power density of 3.43μW/cm^(2)(temperate gradientΔT=10.5 K)was achieved by the TE string with a diameter of 3.5 mm and an inter-pillar spacing of 2 ***,under the experimental condition,the achievable power density of the fabricated three-dimensional(3D)TEF was limited to 29%of the simulation result because of the inclination of the TE string within the fabric concerning heat plate contact and copper wire-TE pillar *** actual TE string also demonstrated high flexibility and stable mechanical properties after 450 bending ***,the study would provide a foundation for future research in developing more efficient TEFs to offer a comfortable and conformable option for wearable energy harvesting applications.
