A cost-effective, highly useful and eco-friendly procedure for the one-pot synthesis of highly substituted pyrazole derivatives has been developed via the reaction of various aldehydes, malononitrile and phenylhydrazine or 4-phenylthiosemicarbazide in PEG-400 and water at room temperature under ultrasound irradiation. Utilization of green solvents without a catalyst makes this methodology very interesting from economic and environmental perspectives. This method provides several advantages such as operational simplicity, use of accessible and economical starting materials and reduced environmental consequences.

Barley grain for ruminants: A global treasure or tragedy

Barley grain （Hordeum vulgate L.） is characterized by a thick fibrous coat, a high level of β-glucans and simply-arranged starch granules. World production of barley is about 30 % of that of corn. In comparison with corn, barley has more protein, methionine, lysine, cysteine and tryptophan. For ruminants, barley is the third most readily degradable cereal behind oats and wheat. Due to its more rapid starch fermentation rate compared with corn, barley also provides a more synchronous release of energy and nitrogen, thereby improving microbial nutrient assimilation. As a result, feeding barley can reduce the need for feeding protected protein sources. However, this benefit is only realized if rumen acidity is maintained within an optimal range （e.g., 〉 5.8 to 6.0）; below this range, microbial maintenance requirements and wastage increase. With a low pH, microbial endotoxines cause pro-inflammatory responses that can weaken immunity and shorten animal longevity. Thus, mismanagement in barley processing and feeding may make a tragedy from this treasure or pearl of cereal grains. Steam-rolling of barley may improve feed efficiency and post-rumen starch digestion. However, it is doubtful if such processing can improve milk production and feed intake. Due to the need to process barley less extensively than other cereals （as long as the pericarp is broken）, consistent and global standards for feeding and processing barley could be feasibly established. In high-starch diets, barley feeding reduces the need for capacious small intestinal starch assimilation, subsequently reducing hindgut starch use and fecal nutrient loss. With its nutritional exclusivities underlined, barley use will be a factual art that can either matchlessly profit or harm rumen microbes, cattle production, farm economics and the environment.

An elastodynamic solution for plane-strain response of functionally graded thick hollow cylinders subjected to uniformly-distributed dynamic pressures at boundary surfaces is presented. The material properties, except Poisson＇s ratio, are assumed to vary through the thickness according to a power law function. To achieve an exact solution, the dynamic radial displacement is divided into two quasi-static and dynamic parts, and for each part, an analytical solution is derived. The quasi-static solution is obtained by means of Euler＇s equation, and the dynamic solution is derived using the method of the separation of variables and the orthogonal expansion technique. The radial displacement and stress distributions are plotted for various functionally graded material （FGM） hollow cylinders under different dynamic loads, and the advantages of the presented method are discussed. The proposed analytical solution is suitable for analyzing various arrangements of hollow FGM cylinders with arbitrary thickness and arbitrary initial conditions, which are subjected to arbitrary forms of dynamic pressures distributed uniformly on their boundary surfaces.

Effect of BCD Plasma on a Bacteria Cell Membrane

Cell membrane rupture is considered to be one of the probable mechanisms for bacterial inactivation using barrier corona discharge （BCD） plasma. In this paper, the effect of the BCD plasma on the Escherichia coli （E. coli） bacteria cell wall was investigated through two analytical methods; Adenosine-5-triphosphate （ATP） assay and Atomic Force Microscopy （AFM）. The ATP assay results indicate an increase in the ATP content of samples which were exposed to the BCD plasma. This implies the bacteria cell rupture. Moreover, AFM images confirm a serious damage of the bacteria cell wall under the influence of the bactericidal agents of the plasma.

Livestock units are known as one of the most influential sectors in the environment ***,the aim of this study was to investigate the environmental impacts of milk production in Guilan province of Iran through Life Cycle Assessment(LCA)*** primary data were collected from 45 units of milk production through a field survey with the help of a structured *** reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and was estimated an acceptable value of *** consumption of resources and emissions were allocated to a functional unit(FU)of one ton of *** of emissions in five impact categories of global warming,acidification,eutrophication,photochemical oxidation and depletion of resources were *** results showed that the characterization index for these impact categories were 1831 kg CO2 eq,7.97 kg SO2 eq,3.42 kg PO4^-3 eq,0.21 kg C2H4 eq and 838.39 MJ,*** indices for these impact categories were calculated as 0.24,0.28,0.076,0.017 and 0.046,*** index(EcoX)and resources depletion index(RDI)were obtained 0.61 and 0.04,*** this study,the highest potential for environmental impacts of production revealed for acidification and followed by global warming impact category.

Tractor as one of the most widely used agricultural machinery should be considered from different *** frequent application of clutch and brake pedals and also the steering wheel within farms,along with the unfavorable working conditions,cause negative effects on the occupational health of the tractor ***,in this research,the imposed forces on three engaged muscles including:Gastrocnemius,Trapezius and Quadrate’s lumborum of the tractor drivers during clutching have been *** this regard,algometer device was used to determine the applied forces on selective muscles of drivers during clutching of MF285 and MF399 *** experiments were performed employing sample of 30 drivers and were conducted on two Iranian frequently used tractors including:MF285 and MF399 *** results showed that the clutching forces for MF285 and MF399 tractors were 340 N and 290 N,*** knee angle of the drivers of the two tractors was statistically different at the one percent level of *** reduction of pain threshold after 30 and 60 s clutching and also 60 s rest after clutching in MF285 tractor,for all three muscles,were more than those of MF399 *** impact of clutching on the average decreases of pain threshold,for all drivers and all clutching periods,during and after clutching,in the Quadratus lumborum muscle was more than the other two muscles,in both *** order to reduce the clutching force for MF285 tractor some modifications is *** this regard the force transfer joint between the pedal and the clutch release linkage may be replaced with one made of cast iron.
