Disseminated carcinomatosis of the bone marrow is characterized by widespread bone metastasis(bone marrow infiltration) from solid tumors with hematological disorders coexisted. This disease is frequently complicated with gastric cancer among solid tumors although its incidence is very rare. In recent years,technological innovations in diagnosis and treatment for cancer have remarkably improved,which made survival rates of various cancers prolonged. Prognosis of disseminated carcinomatosis of the bone marrow associated with gastric cancer,however,is still poor(less than a year),possibly because this disease has not been given attention due to low incidence. In this review,I summarize the results obtained for the past,and propose ways to improve the prognosis of this disease.

This study presents stochastic methods to simulate wave envelopes in layeredrandom media. High-frequency Seismograms of small earthquakes are so complexdue to lithospheric inhomogeneity that seismologists often analyze wave envelopesrather than wave traces to quantify the subsurface inhomogeneity. Since thestatistical properties of the inhomogeneity vary regionally, it is important to developand examine direct envelope simulation methods for non-uniform random media. Asa simple example, this study supposes planewave propagation through two-layer randommedia in 2-D composed of weak and strong inhomogeneity zones. The characteristicspatial-scale of the inhomogeneity is supposed to be larger than the wavelength,where small-angle scattering around the forward direction dominates large-angle *** envelope simulation methods based on the small-angle scattering approximationare examined. One method is to solve a differential equation for the twofrequencymutual coherence function with the Markov approximation. The other isto solve the stochastic ray bending process by using the Monte Carlo method basedon the Markov approximation for the mutual coherence function. The resultant waveenvelopes of the two methods showed excellent coincidence both for uniform and fortwo-layer random media. Furthermore, we confirmed the validity of the two methodscomparing with the envelopes made from the finite difference simulations of *** two direct envelope simulation methods presented in this study can be a mathematicalbase for the study of high-frequency wave propagation through randomlyinhomogeneous lithosphere in seismology.

Influence of Fine Sediment on the Fluidity of Debris Flows

Debris flows include a great diversity of grain sizes with inherent features such as inverse grading, particle size segregation, and liquefaction of fine sediment. The liquefaction of fine sediment affects the fluidity of debris flows, although the behavior and influence of fine sediment in debris flows have not been examined sufficiently. This study used flume tests to detect the effect of fine sediment on the fluidity of laboratory debris flows consisting of particles with various diameters. From the experiments, the greatest sediment concentration and flow depth were observed in the debris flows mixed with fine sediment indicating increased flow resistance. The experimental friction coefficient was then compared with the theoretical friction coefficient derived by substituting the experimental values into the constitutive equations for debris flow. The theoretical friction coefficient was obtained from two models with different fine-sediment treatments： assuming that all of the fine sediments were solid particles or that the particles consisted of a fluid phase involving pore water liquefaction. From the comparison of the friction coefficients, a fully liquefaction state was detected for the fine particle mixture. When the mixing ratio and particle size of the fine sediment were different, some other eases were considered to be in a partially liquefied transition state. These results imply that the liquefaction of fine sediment in debris flows was induced not only by the geometric conditions such as particle sizes, but also by the flow conditions.

The growth of prostate cancer is sensitive to androgen, and hormonal therapy has been used for treatment of ad-vanced cancer. About 80% of prostate cancers initially respond to hormonal therapy, howerver, more than half of the re-sponders gradually become resistant to this therapy. Changes in tumors from an androgen-responsive to an androgen-unre-sponsive state have been widely discussed. Since androgen action is mediated by androgen receptor (AR), abnormalitiesof AR is believed to play an important role of the loss of androgen responsiveness in prostate cancer. Lanthanum carbonate is used for treatment of hyperphosphatemia mostly in patients with chronic renal *** lanthanum carbonate is safe,recently,lanthanum deposition in the gastrointestinal mucosa of patients has been reported in the *** review provides an overview of gastroduodenal lanthanum deposition and focuses on disease's endoscopic,radiological,and histological features,prevalence,and outcome,by reviewing relevant clinical studies,case reports,and basic research findings,to better understand the endoscopic manifestation of gastrointestinal lanthanum *** possible relationship between gastric lanthanum deposition pattern and gastric mucosal atrophy is also illustrated;in patients without gastric mucosal atrophy,gastric lanthanum deposition appears as diffuse white lesions in the posterior wall and lesser curvature of the gastric *** the gastric mucosa with atrophy,lanthanum-related lesions likely appear as annular or granular whitish ***,these white lesions are probably more frequently observed in the lower part of the stomach,where intestinal metaplasia begins.

Load Sharing Behavior of Star Gearing Reducer for Geared Turbofan Engine

Load sharing behavior is very important for power-split gearing system, star gearing reducer as a new type and special transmission system can be used in many industry fields. However, there is few literature regarding the key multiple-split load sharing issue in main gearbox used in new type geared turbofan engine. Further mechanism anal- ysis are made on load sharing behavior among star gears of star gearing reducer for geared turbofan engine. Compre- hensive meshing error analysis are conducted on eccentricity error, gear thickness error, base pitch error, assembly error, and bearing error of star gearing reducer respectively. Floating meshing error resulting from meshing clearance variation caused by the simultaneous floating of sun gear and annular gear are taken into account. A refined mathematical model for load sharing coefficient calculation is established in consideration of different meshing stiffness and support- ing stiffness for components. The regular curves of load sharing coefficient under the influence of interactions, single action and single variation of various component errors are obtained. The accurate sensitivity of load sharing coefficienttoward different errors is mastered. The load sharing coef- ficient of star gearing reducer is 1.033 and the maximum meshing force in gear tooth is about 3010 N. This paper provides scientific theory evidences for optimal parameter design and proper tolerance distribution in advanced devel- opment and manufacturing process, so as to achieve optimal effects in economy and technology.
