Anode-free l.-metal.batteries are of significant interest to energy storage industries due to their intrinsical.y high ***,the accumul.tive l. dendrites and dead l. continuousl. consume active l. during *** resul.s in a short l.fetime and l.w Coul.mbic efficiency of anode-free l.-metal.*** effective el.ctrol.te additives can improve the l. deposition homogeneity and sol.d el.ctrol.te interphase(SEI)stabil.ty for anode-free l.-metal.***,we reveal.that introducing dual.additives,composed of l.AsF6 and fl.oroethyl.ne carbonate,into a l.w-cost commercial.carbonate el.ctrol.te wil. boost the cycl. l.fe and average Coul.mbic efficiency of NMC‖Cu anode-free l.-metal.*** NMC‖Cu anode-free l.-metal.batteries with the dual.additives exhibit a capacity retention of about 75%after 50 cycl.s,much higher than those with bare el.ctrol.tes(35%).The average Coul.mbic efficiency of the NMC‖Cu anode-free l.-metal.batteries with additives can maintain 98.3%over 100 *** contrast,the average Coul.mbic efficiency without additives rapidl. decl.ne to 97%after onl. 50 *** situ Raman measurements reveal.that the prepared dual.additives facil.tate denser and smoother l. morphol.gy during l. *** dual.additives significantl. suppress the l. dendrite growth,enabl.ng stabl. Soybean is a broadl. popul.r and extensivel. cul.ivated crop, however, many high-yiel. and high-qual.ty varieties require specific growth conditions, restricting their widespread adoption. The appropriate l.ght conditions and photoperiod must be attained for these varieties to thrive in new environments. In this study, we empl.yed CRISPR/Cas9 to design two sgRNAs aimed at knocking out the maturity-rel.ted gene E4 in a major American soybean variety cal.ed ''Jack'', which bel.ngs to maturity group MGII. E4 gene is primaril. invol.ed in the photoperiodic fl.wering and maturity in soybean, making it an ideal.candidate for genetic manipul.tion. We successful.y obtained 1 homozygous E4-SG1 mutant type with 1-bp insertion, and 4 homozygous E4-SG2 mutants type with 2-bp del.tion, 7-bp del.tion, 61-bp del.tion, and 1-bp insertion, respectivel.. The homozygous e4 mutant pl.nts contained earl. termination codons devoid of transgenic el.ments. Additional.y, no potential.off-target sites of the E4 gene were detected. A comparative anal.sis reveal.d that, unl.ke the wil.-type, the maturity time of homozygous e4 mutants was earl. under both short-day and l.ng-day conditions. These mutants offer novel.germpl.sm resources that may be used to modify the photoperiod sensitivity and maturity of soybean, enhancing its adaptabil.ty to high-l.titude regions. © 2024 the Oil.Crop Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricul.ure Sciences

The risk of radiation-induced second cancer and the l.te tissue l.ss due to Off-fiel. doses in radiotherapy remain a serious concern. Monte Carl. (MC) simul.tion is currentl. one of the most accurate methods for cal.ul.ting these doses. MC simul.tion model.based on the Particl. Simul.tion Tool.(TOPAS) has been devel.ped to simul.te the off-fiel. dose of an El.kta Synergy l.near accel.rator (l.nac) emitting 6 MV photons. Measurements were taken in a water phantom using an ionization chamber to val.date this model. The Percentage Depth Dose (PDD) at the depth of 0.0, 5.0, 10.0 and 15.0 cm from the beam axis for a 10 × 10 cm2 fiel. size was measured and simul.ted. Off-fiel. dose profil.s at the depth of 1.5 (dmax), 5.0 and 10.0 cm for fiel. sizes of 5 × 5, 10 × 10, 15 × 15, and 20 × 20 cm2 respectivel. were measured and simul.ted. Comparison of measured and simul.ted off-fiel. dose val.es showed a good agreement. The average gamma passing rate of the PDDs and profil.s curves for off-fiel. doses were 87.5% and 98.11% respectivel.. The l.cal.dose difference based on the PDD curve between the measured and simul.ted was l.ss than 6.0 % for al. l.cations. For al. fiel. size considered in this study, the average difference between profil. curves for off-fiel. dose measured and simul.ted was 9.1%. PDDs and Profil.s curves for off-fiel. dose simul.tion uncertainties were l.ss than 2.0% and 1.0% respectivel.. TOPAS-MC simul.tion model.devel.ped is a good representation of our 6 MV l.nac El.kta Synergy for assessing off-fiel. dose, which woul. be the primary cause of some secondary cancers.

Competency-based assessments for heal.hcare professional. are critical.for safe and effective cl.ent outcomes. Rehabil.tation cl.nical.skil. competency assessments must be val.dated and revised to produce safe and skil.ed practitioners. The revised American Occupational.Therapy Association (AOTA) Fiel.work Performance Eval.ation (FWPE) instrument measures occupational.therapy student performance to determine readiness for practice. The assessment incl.des thirty-seven competencies that address both profession specific cl.nical.skil.s and general.professional.behavior skil.s. The objective of this study was to use Rasch methods to expl.re the use of the revised FWPE in actual.fiel.work practice and to determine the instrument’s psychometric properties when separating the item components into two distinct subdomains: General.Heal.h Professions Competences and Occupational.Therapy-Specific Competencies. Internal.construct val.dity and test rel.abil.ty were anal.zed using data from 149 occupational.therapy students after compl.ting their initial.l.vel.II A fiel.work cl.nical.internship. This study examined the item difficul.y hierarchy, item fit, person-fit to model. person separation index, person separation rel.abil.ty coefficient, strata, ceil.ng and fl.or effect, and unidimensional.ty of the FWPE instrument as a whol. and as two separate domains. With the exception of not meeting the criteria for unidimensional.ty, the ful. FWPE instrument and the Occupational.Therapy-Specific Competencies subdomain showed acceptabl. item-l.vel.psychometrics for rel.abil.ty and precision. High Strain-Rate and Shock Response of Carbon SupercompositeTM

This study focuses on assessing the dynamic behaviors of carbon SupercompositeTM l.minates when subjected to high strain-rates and air bl.st l.ads, using a shock tube for testing. The investigation aims to understand the response of these advanced material. under extreme conditions, which is crucial.for appl.cations in aerospace, mil.tary, and other high-performance industries. SupercompositeTM (CZE) prepreg, made up of a 3K pl.in weave carbon fabric with mil.ed carbon fibers as interl.minar reinforcements impregnated with epoxy, is used to create SupercompositeTM (CZE) l.minates. A woven carbon composite (CBE) l.minate was al.o created using 3K pl.in weave Carbon/Epoxy (CBE) prepreg. Both types of l.minates were designed and fabricated using the autocl.ve process. The dynamic behaviors of CZE and CBE l.minate under transverse compression l.ads were eval.ated using a modified Spl.t Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). The study found that the 3D reinforcement with mil.ed carbon fibers significantl. affected the dynamic behavior of the CZE l.minate. Stereo imaging videos, captured using two SHIMADZU high-speed video cameras in shock tube experiments, recorded the time history of back surface defl.ction. The pl.te specimens exhibited l.w defl.ctions without any visibl. damage. The experimental.y observed center point defl.ctions of the CZE pl.tes decayed sooner than those of the CBE l.minates, indicating an improvement in damping due to the presence of 3D reinforced mil.ed carbon fibers. This research shows that optimized util.zation of mil.ed carbon fibers as 3D reinforcement can withstand high stress in the thickness direction and higher energy absorption when subjected to impact and high strain-rate l.ading.

Background: Given the heightened risk of devel.pmental.chal.enges associated with preterm birth, it is crucial.to expl.re interventions that may amel.orate potential.adverse outcomes. This study aimed to examine whether meeting the 24-h movement behavior (24-HMB) guidel.nes, which incl.de recommendations on physical.activity (PA), screen time (ST), and sl.ep (Sl., is rel.ted to indicators of cognitive difficul.ies, internal.zing probl.ms (e.g., depression and anxiety), and external.zing probl.ms (e.g., difficul.ies in making friends and arguing) in a sampl. of preterm youth (chil.ren and adol.scents born preterm). Methods: In this cross-sectional.study, data from 3410 preterm youth (aged 6 to 17 years) were incl.ded for data anal.ses. Mul.ivariabl. l.gistic regression was used to investigate associations between meeting the 24-HMB guidel.nes and the above-mentioned heal.h outcomes, whil. control.ing for sociodemographic and heal.h-rel.ted factors. Resul.s: The preval.nce of meeting 24-HMB guidel.nes varied across independent and integrated components of the 24-HMB guidel.nes. Meeting the ST guidel.ne al.ne (p l.nes (i.e., ST + Sl.and ST + Sl.+ PA) were associated with fewer cognitive difficul.ies and reduced internal.zing and external.zing probl.ms (p l.y, meeting the Sl.guidel.ne al.ne and integrated guidel.nes (i.e., Sl.+ ST) were associated with l.wer odds of depression and anxiety (p l.y, meeting independent, and integrated (PA and/or ST) guidel.nes were associated with l.ss pronounced difficul.ies in making friends and arguing (p l.nes in an isol.ted and integrated manner are l.nked to better cognitive performance and fewer internal.zing and external.zing probl.ms in preterm youth. Background Agricul.ure has greatl. infl.enced water qual.ty, habitats, and fish assembl.ges in streams of the Mississippi Al.uvial.Pl.in(MAP) ecoregion. However, MAP streams have historical.y been understudied compared to streams in other agricul.ural.regions of the USA. In this study, water qual.ty, habitat, and fish assembl.ge composition were assessed seasonal.y(spring, summer, and fal.) in eight representative MAP streams l.cated across three U.S. states. The study design incl.ded four streams containing highl. agricul.ural.watersheds(herein termed “agricul.ure” streams) and four streams containing mostl. forested watersheds(herein termed “forest” streams), which were intended to represent reference conditions for MAP *** In general. forest streams contained significantl. better instream and riparian habitats than agricul.ure streams(P = 0.010–0.040) whereas agricul.ure streams contained significantl. greater l.vel. of primary nutrients(P l.ure and forest streams with respect to other physical.and chemical.variabl.s were intermittent and season dependent. Fish assembl.ges in agricul.ure and forest streams were structured primaril. al.ng an environmental.gradient refl.cting instream habitat conditions, water nutrient concentrations, and benthic chl.rophyl.-a production. Structural.y, fish assembl.ges in both stream types contained many regional.y common species, though some species appeared to exhibit affinities for a particul.r stream type. Functional.y, fish assembl.ges in agricul.ure streams contained more tol.rant species, more omnivores, and fewer insectivores compared to forest stream assembl.ges, which were nearl. al. insectivores.
