Characterizing diseases using genetic and clinical variables:A data analytics approach

Predictive analytics is crucial in precision medicine for personalized patient *** aid in precision medicine,this study identifies a subset of genetic and clinical variables that can serve as predictors for classifying diseased tissues/disease *** achieve this,experiments were performed on diseased tissues obtained from the L1000 dataset to assess differences in the functionality and predictive capabilities of genetic and clinical *** this study,the k-means technique was used for clustering the diseased tissue types,and the multinomial logistic regression(MLR)technique was applied for classifying the diseased tissue *** reduction techniques including principal component analysis and Boruta are used extensively to reduce the dimensionality of genetic and clinical *** results showed that landmark genes performed slightly better in clustering diseased tissue types compared to any random set of 978 non-landmark genes,and the difference is statistically ***,it was evident that both clinical and genetic variables were important in predicting the diseased tissue *** top three clinical predictors for predicting diseased tissue types were identified as morphology,gender,and age of ***,this study explored the possibility of using the latent representations of the clusters of landmark and non-landmark genes as predictors for an MLR *** classification models built using MLR revealed that landmark genes can serve as a subset of genetic variables and/or as a proxy for clinical *** study concludes that combining predictive analytics with dimensionality reduction effectively identifies key predictors in precision medicine,enhancing diagnostic accuracy.

In this study,guar gum(GG)was chemically modified to its carboxymethyl derivative,which was then esterified with octenyl succinic anhydride(OSA)using a nucleophilic catalyst 4-dimethylaminopyridine(DMAP)to render the derivative amphiphilic *** carboxymethyl guar gum(CMGG)and succinoylated CMGG was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)*** amphiphilic CMGG synthesized using DMAP/OSA ratio of 0.5:1(CMGGOSA-I),was found to be *** amphiphilic guar gum self-assembled in water to form nanocarriers with mean diameter of 430 nm and zeta potential of19.0 *** electron microscope(TEM)image showed spherical nature of the developed CMGGOSA-I nano*** presence of amphiphilic CMGG,the aqueous solubility of glimepiride was enhanced by about *** nanocarriers released glimepiride in simulated gastrointestinal fluids for a period of more than 24 h,following Higuchi's ***-Peppas modeling of the drug release data revealed that a combination of swelling and diffusion mechanism was operative in the event of drug *** streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat model,the nanocarriers outperformed pure drug suspensions in terms of anti-diabetic activity,which lasted up to 24 ***;the newly synthesized amphiphilic CMGG nanocarriers demonstrated controlled drug release properties and showed promise for controlling type-2 diabetes.

Dear Editor,Brassica carinata(Bc Bc Cc Cc),an important agricultural crop cultivated for the edible oil,leafy vegetable,high-value protein stockfeed,and biofuel markets,contains favorable genetic variation that can be exploited to develop climate-resilient and wateruse-efficient Brassica crops(Seepaul et al.,2021).Although several quantitative trait loci(QTLs)for flowering time,seed quality traits,and pod shatter resistance(PSR)have been identified based on high-density genetic linkage maps(Zou et al.,2014;Raman et al.,2017;Zhang et al.,2017),this information alone is insufficient for practical genetic improvement and breeding applications.

Dostarlimab,a programmed death receptor-1(PD-1)-blocking IgG4 humanized monoclonal antibody,gained accelerated approval from the US Food and Drug Administration(FDA)in April 2021,and received a full approval in February *** was approved for treating adult patients with mismatch repair deficient(dMMR)recurrent or advanced endometrial cancer(EC)that progressed during or after prior treatment who have no other suitable treatment ***,we review the structure-based mechanism of action of dostarlimab and the results of a clinical study(GARNET;NCT02715284)to comprehensively clarify the efficacy and toxicity of the *** efficacy and safety of dostarlimab as monotherapy was assessed in a non-randomized,multicenter,open-label,multi-cohort trial that included 209 patients with dMMR recurrent or advanced solid tumors after receiving systemic *** received 500 mg of dostarlimab intravenously every three weeks until they were given four ***,patients received 1000 mg dostarlimab intravenously every six weeks until disease progression or unacceptable *** overall response rate,as determined by shrinkage in tumor size,was 41.6%(95%confidence interval[CI];34.9,48.6),with 34.7 months as the median response *** conclusion,dostarlimab is an immunotherapy-based drug that has shown promising results in adult patients with recurrent or advanced dMMR ***,its efficacy in other cancer subtypes,the development of resistance to monotherapy,and efficacy and safety in combination with other immunotherapeutic drugs have not yet been studied.

The medical health systems empowered by wireless body area networks(WBANs)are becoming a reliable technology with unmatched facilities for personalised health monitoring and managing real-time health issues.A WBAN is primarily composed of a miniature,and smart devices called sensors that are worn in,on,or around the human *** recent years,research has been mainly centred towards the reduction of the energy consumption and stability of the *** selection of the relay node is one of the foremost issues for balancing the energy consumption in *** overcome this issue,the authors propose a hybrid analytic hierarchy process-neutrosophic method for making the decision of the relay node selection,in which the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)technique calculates the weights for different criteria and forwards them to the neutrosophic technique which finds out the best alternative solution or choice which is closest to the ideal solution.A detailed analysis is carried out on multi-criteria decision-making techniques by comparing the proposed AHP-neutrosophic and AHP techniques taking into account various criteria and *** experimental outcomes of this research indicate a significant reduction in terms of energy consumption and enhanced overall network-stability.

In power market environment,the growing importance of demand response(DR)and renewable energy source(RES)attracts more for-profit DR and RES aggregators to compete with each other to maximize their ***,the intermittent natures of these alternative sources along with the competition add to the probable financial risk of the *** objective of the paper is to highlight this financial risk of aggregators in such uncertain environment while estimating DR magnitude and power generated by *** work develops DR modeling incorporating the effect of estimating power at different confidence levels and uncertain participation of *** this paper,two well-known risk assessment techniques,value at risk and conditional value at risk,are applied to predict the power from RES and DR programs at a particular level of risk in different scenarios generated by Monte Carlo *** establish the linkage between financial risk taking ability of individuals,the aggregators are classified into risk neutral aggregator,risk averse aggregator and risk taking *** paper uses data from Indian Energy Exchange to produce realistic results and refers certain policies of Indian Energy Exchange to frame mathematical expressions for benefit function considering uncertainties for each type of three *** results show the importance of assessing the risks involved with two unpredictable variables and possible impacts on technical and financial attributes of the microgrid energy market.
