Hot corrosion has been extensively observed in various high temperature applications,which might cause large economic *** deepen the insight and understanding of hot corrosion,herein,we provide a detailed discussion on hot corrosion induced by molten sulfate salt,in which Na_(2)SO_(4)is the main chemical *** hot corrosion is triggered and sustained by the negative solubility gradient of protective oxide from the oxide/salt interface to salt/gas *** this work,we reviewed several key factors,including temperature,gas composition,molten salt composition,alloy element and external stress,influencing the hot corrosion of alloy beneath the molten *** application of anti-corrosion coating seems to be the most effective and commercial mothed to mitigate hot ***,the progress of the development of effective coatings,e.g.,Ni-Cr coatings,aluminide coatings,silicide coatings and MCrAlY(X)coatings,has also been summarized.

Organizing schedules and allocating time to different activities is always a challenge in dual-earner households,especially when they have *** may need to link their schedule to those of their children to allow them escorting their children to school or to take care or be with their children at *** paper reports the results of an analysis of the degree of synchronization of home departure and arrival times in dual earner households with children,where the degree of synchronization is defined as the gap between departure and arrival times of a parent and *** activity-travel diary data of different household members,a random parameters regression model is estimated to examine differences in time gaps in home departure and arrival times between parents and children as a function of gender,day of the week,age of the youngest child,and other socio-demographic *** results of the analysis provide insight into factors influencing the degree of synchronization and coordination of double activity-travel scheduling decisions in households with *** indicate that gender,number of children in the household,age of the youngest child,travel within or outside peak hours,day of the week,transport mode used for the work commute and household income level significantly affect time gaps,especially arrival time gaps.

Aims and Methods Vascular plants are known to influence the production,transport and oxidation of methane in wetland soils,but these processes are not well *** plants grown in intact peat cores,we compared the influence upon methane emissions of 20 forb and graminoid species from European *** measured plant-mediated transport of methane(conduit or chimney effect)using a novel agar-sealing technique that prevented methane exchange from the bare soil to the *** Findings the plant-mediated transport(chimney effect)represented between 30%and almost 100%of the total methane flux,with graminoids exhibiting greater internal transport than *** general,plants with less dense root tissues and a relatively larger root volume exhibited a larger chimney *** species(12 out of 20)signif-icantly reduced methane emissions compared to bare soil and only one species,Succisa pratensis,increased *** suggest that characterising vegetation in terms of plant functional traits and plant processes offers an effective method for estimating methane emis-sions from ***,we found no correlation between the magnitude of the chimney effect and the overall influence of different plant species on methane *** introducing a useful tool to study plant-mediated transport,this work suggests that characterising vegetation in terms of functional traits could improve estimates of methane emissions from wetlands,which in turn could help in designing mitigation strategies.

Nanophotocatalysts have shown great potential for degrading poly-and perfluorinated substances(PFAS).In light of the fact that most of these catalysts were studied in pure water,this study was designed to elucidate effects from common environmental factors on decomposing and defluorinating perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)by In2O3 *** from this work demonstrated that among the seven parameters,pH,sulfate,chloride,H2O2,In2O3 dose,NOM and O2,the first four had statistically significant negative effects on PFOA *** PFOA is a strong acid,the best condition leading to the highest PFOA removal was identified for two pH *** pH was between 4 and 8,the optimal condition was:pH=4.2;sulfate=5.00 mg/L;chloride=20.43 mg/L;H2O2=0 mmol/*** this condition,PFOA decomposition and defluorination were 55.22 and 23.56%,*** pH was between 2 and 6,the optimal condition was:pH=2;sulfate=5.00 mg/L;chloride=27.31 mg/L;H2O2=0 mmol/*** this condition,the modeled PFOA decomposition was 97.59%with a defluorination of approximately 100%.These predicted results were all confirmed by experimental ***,In2O3 nanoparticles can be used for degrading PFOA in aqueous *** approach works best when the target contaminated water contains low concentrations of NOM,sulfate and chloride and at a low pH.

To gain insight into the genetic regulation of lipid metabolism in tomato, we conducted metabolic trait loci （mQTL） analysis following the lipidomic profiling of fruit pericarp and leaf tissue of the Solanum pennellii introgression lines （IL）. To enhance mapping resolution for selected fruit-specific mQTL, we profiled the lipids in a subset of independently derived S. pennellii backcross inbred lines, as well as in a nearsogenic sub-iL population. We identified a putative lecithin：cholesterol acyltransferase that controls the levels of several lipids, and two members of the class III lipase family, LIP1 and LIP2, that were associated with decreased levels of diacylglycerols （DAGs） and triacylglycerols （TAGs）. Lipases of this class cleave fatty acids from the glycerol backbone of acylglycerols. The released fatty acids serve as precursors of flavor volatiles. We show that LIP1 expression correlates with fatty acid-derived volatile levels. We further confirm the function of LIP1 in TAG and DAG breakdown and volatile synthesis using transgenic plants. Taken together, our study extensively characterized the genetic architecture of Upophilic compounds in tomato and demonstrated at molecular level that release of free fatty acids from the glycerol backbone can have a maj.r impact on downstream volatile synthesis.

Cubitermes spp. are widely distributed soil-feeding termite species in sub- Saharan Africa which play a fundamental role in soil structure and fertility. A complex of at least four cryptic species （i.e., Cubitermes sp. affunis subarquatus complex of species） has been recently described using molecular markers. In order to investigate the breeding system of these species, five microsatellite markers were used to carry out parentage and re- latedness analyses in 15 Gabonese colonies. Monogamy was confirmed as the predominant reproductive organization in Cubitermes spp. （76% of the colonies）. Within 30% of these monogamous colonies, a high relatedness between reproductives was shown, suggesting that mating between related individuals occurs. However, Cubitermes colonies can deviate from monogamy. Indeed, parental contributions by at least two related reproductives of the same sex were revealed in four colonies and polyandry was demonstrated in two of them. Infiltration of reproductives in the colony is the most plausible explanation for such cases of polygamy in Cubitermes spp.
