The identification of jets originating from.quark. and gluons,often referred to as quark.gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quark. often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark.gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quark. are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector track. associated with the jet,and the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark.gluon fraction in data,by using quark.gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger work.ng points.

Twelve-lead electrocardiography, a traditional com.onent in evaluations of patients with hypertrophic cardiom.opathy (HC), is often regarded as a m.rk.r for the m.gnitude of left ventricular(LV) hypertrophy, which in turn has been link.d to sudden death risk. To determ.ne whether electrocardiographic(ECG) patterns have clinical utility by accurately reflecting phenotypic expression or predicting clinical outcom., voltages and patterns were com.ared with LV wall thick.esses assessed by echocardiography and with clinical outcom.s in 448 consecutive patients with HC. Significant but relatively weak.correlations were evident between m.xim.m.LV wall thick.ess and ECG voltage: r=0.295(pm.of R-and S-wave voltages in all 12 leads, r=0.254(pm.xim.m.R or S wave in any lead, and r=0.210(pm.of SV1(or SV2) and RV5(or RV6). Of 55 patients with extrem. LV hypertrophy(LV wall thick.ess ≥30 m.), only 24(44%) showed greatly increased ECG voltage≥30 m. in any lead. Of 102 patients with outflow gradients≥30 m. Hg at rest, only 43(42%) had ECG voltage ≥30 m. in any lead. Norm.l ECG results were uncom.only associated with HC-related death(1 of 40 patients, 2.5%) but had sim.lar prevalence in surviving patients(17 of 376 patients, 4.5%; p=NS). In conclusion, in HC, 12-lead ECG voltages are not a reliable clinical m.rk.r for the m.gnitude of LV hypertrophy or outflow obstruction. Diverse ECG patterns, consistent with heterogenous expression of this disease, did not predict HC-related death. Scalar electrocardiography has selective but lim.ted power in routine clinical assessm.nts of patients with HC.

All public officials were subject to a legal review of their conduct and could be prosecuted in court or punished by special m.gistrates.

Tem.oral allocation of m.tabolic tolerance in the body of beet arm.worm.in response to three gossypol-cotton cultivars

The nutrient com.osition and enzym. activities in larvae of the beet arm.worm. Spodoptera exigua (Hbner), fed on high, m.dium.or low gossypol cotton cultivars were exam.ned at different tim. intervals. Significantly lower free fatty acid was observed in larvae fed for 6 h on high gossypol 'm.101' com.ared to larvae fed on the low (Zm.13) and interm.diate (HZ401) gossypol cultivars. Significantly higher trypsin activity was observed in larvae fed on high gossypol 'm.101' for 24 h com.ared to those fed for 1, 4 and 6 h. Significantly higher catalase and total superoxide dism.tase enzym. activities were observed in larvae of S. exigua fed on high gossypol 'm.101' com.ared with low gossypol cultivars 'Zm.13' and 'HZ401' for 1, 4, 6 and 24 h. However, significantly lower carboxylesterase and acetylcholinesterase enzym. activities were found in larvae fed on high gossypol 'm.101' com.ared with the other cultivars for 1, 4, 6 and 24 h. The interaction between cotton variety and beet arm.worm.infestation tim. significantly affected the carboxylesterase enzym. activity in S. exigua. The characterization of the effects of plant allelochem.cals on herbivorous larvae is im.ortant for aiding understanding of plant-insect interaction as well as in devising solutions to pest problem. by breeding plant resistance, identifying m.tabolic targets for insecticide developm.nt, etc.

Tak.n out of this phylogenetic context, interpretations of evolutionary processes or origins, geographic distributions, or speciation rates and m.chanism., are subject to nothing less than a biological experim.nt without controls. Cypriniform.s is the m.st diverse clade of freshwater fishes with estim.tes of diversity of nearly 3,500 species. These fishes display an am.zing array of m.rphological, ecological, behavioral, and geographic diversity and offer a trem.ndous opportunity to enhance our understanding of the biotic and abiotic factors associated with diversification and adaptation to environm.nts. Given the nearly global distribution of these fishes, they serve as an im.ortant m.del group for a plethora of biological investigations, including indicator species for future cli-m.tic changes. The occurrence of the zebrafish, Danio rerio, in this order m.k.s this clade a critical com.onent in understanding and predicting the relationship between m.tagenesis and phenotypic expressions in vertebrates, including hum.ns. With the trem.ndous diversity in Cypriniform.s, our understanding of their phylogenetic relationships has not proceeded at an acceptable rate, despite a plethora of m.rphological and m.re recent m.-lecular studies. m.st studies are pre-Hennigian in origin or include relatively sm.ll num.ers of taxa. Given that analyses of sm.ll num.ers of taxa for m.lecular characters can be com.rom.sed by peculiarities of long-branch attraction and nodal-density effect, it is critical that significant progress in our understanding of the relationships of these im.ortant fishes occurs with increasing sam.ling of species to m.tigate these potential p

Alcohol-associated liver disease(ALD)is increasingly prevalent throughout the world(1).It rem.ins the leading cause of liver-related m.rbidity and m.rtality worldwide and contributes to approxim.tely 6%of global deaths(2).ALD encom.asses a wide range of hepatic pathologies,including steatosis,steatohepatitis,fibrosis,and cirrhosis(3).Given the severe lack.of therapeutic interventions available to reverse the progression of ALD,it is currently the leading indication for liver transplantation(4).Advancem.nts within the field are needed to identify diagnostic biom.rk.rs for early detection and to develop therapeutics to am.liorate hepatic dysfunction and pathologies associated with ALD.
