AIM To evaluate the National Cancer Institute(NCI)Colorectal Cancer(CRC)Risk Assessment Tool as a predictor for the presence of adenomatous polyps(AP) found during screening or surveillance *** This is a retrospective single center observational *** collected data of adenomatous polyps in each colonoscopy and then evaluated the lifetime CRC *** calculated the AP prevalence across risk score quintiles,odds ratios of the prevalence of AP across risk score quintiles,area under curves(AUCs)and Youden’s indexes to assess the optimal risk score cut off value for AP prevalence *** The prevalence of AP gradually increased throughout the five risk score quintiles:i.e.,27.63%in the first and 51.35%in the fifth *** odd ratios of AP prevalence in the fifth quintile compared to the first and second quintile were 2.76[confidence interval(CI):1.71-4.47]and 2.09(CI:1.32-3.30).The AUC for all patients was 0.62(CI:0.58-0.66).Youden’s Index indicated the optimal risk score cutoff value discriminating AP prevalence status was *** Patients with the higher NCI risk score have higher risk of AP and subsequent CRC;therefore,measures to increase the effectiveness of CRC detection in these patients include longer withdrawal time,early surveillance colonoscopy,and choosing flexible colonoscopy over other CRC screening modalities.

In software industry the major problem encountered during project scheduling is in deciding what proportion of the resources has allocated to the testing phase. In general it has been observed that about 40%-50% of the resources need to be allocated to the testing phase. However it is very difficult to predict the exact amount of effort required to be allocated to testing phase. As a result the project planning goes haywire. The project which has not been tested sufficiently can cause huge losses to the organization. This research paper focuses on finding a method which gives a measure of the effort to be spent on the testing phase. This paper provides effort estimates during pre-coding and post-coding phases using neural network to predict more accurately.

Purpose： llizarov ring fixator and limb reconstruction system （LRS） fixators have been used in the management of complex tibial fractures with severe soft tissue injuries, compound tibial fractures, and infected tibial nonunion for which conventional internal fixation cannot be contemplated. Fracture union and distraction osteogenesis can be done simultaneously with these external fixators, allowing early weight bearing. Several previous studies have shown almost equal results of rail and ring fixators for the compound tibial shaft fractures. Thus we performed a prospective study to evaluate the union rate, functional outcome and amount of limb lengthening after the treatment of compound tibial shaft fractures with or without infected nonunion by ring or LRS fixators. Methods： This prospective study was done at Sarojini Naidu Medical College and Hospital, Agra, India and included 32 patients of compound tibial shaft fractures with or without infected nonunion. There were 26 males and 6 females and the average age was 40 years. Patients were randomly divided into two groups （n - 16 for each）： one underwent llizarov fixation and the other received LRS fixation. Cases were followed up for 3-24 months, 6 months on average from September 2012 to October 2014. Functional and radiological outcomes were assessed using the Association for the Study and Application of Methods of llizarov （ASAMI） criteria for both rail and ring fixators. Results： Union was achieved in all cases. Radiological outcome was found excellent in 68.75%, good in 18.75% and fair in 12.50% of cases treated by rail fixators whereas it was excellent in 56.25%, good in 18.75%, fair in 12.50% and poor in 12.50% of cases treated by ring fixators. Functional result was satis- factory in 75.00% of cases treated by rail fixator and 68.75% of cases treated by ring fixators whereas the corresponding rate of unsatisfactory was 25.00% vs. 31.25%. Objectives:To determine COVID-19 mortality and its risk factors in hospitalized patients at of a tertiary care center in north ***:A retrospective observational study was conducted of patients who were hospitalized from May 2020 to January *** in-hospital mortality was assessed,and demographic variables and comorbidities between COVID-19 deaths and survivors were ***:A total of 24000 patients were admitted during the study period,among which 17000 had shown positive results of the RT-PCR test for *** total mortality was 329 patients(1.37%),among which 232(70.52%)succumbed due to COVID-19,and 97(29.48%)died due to other *** mean age of the patients was(64.09依16.99)*** mean age was significantly higher in COVID-19 related deaths[(67.63±13.78)years]as compared to that of the survivors[(60.52±19.5)years](P<0.001).Compared to COVID-19 survivors,there were more males(72.41%v.s.61.5%)and less females(27.59%v.s.38.5%)in COVID-19 related deaths(P=0.001).Comorbidities such as hypertension,diabetes mellitus,and chronic kidney disease showed a significant correlation with COVID-19 mortality with an adjusted odds ratio of 2.389(95%CI:1.465-2.982),3.891(95%CI:2.059-5.392),and 6.358(95%CI:5.675-10.564),***:Elderly males with comorbidities have higher risk for mortality related to *** vaccination drive is rightfully prioritised to serve the high-risk category first.

The effect of different concentrations of putrescine on biochemical changes in root and shoot of six days old maize seedlings in terms of enzymes of ammonium assimilation were examined. The results revealed that glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) activity was enhanced at lower concentration of putrescine but at higher concentration, the activity of this enzyme was declined. Glutamine synthetase (GS) activity decreased with increase in concentration of putrescine and it was highest at 1000 μm concentration. Howe ver, glutamate synthase (GOGAT) activity increased with increase in concentration of putrescine upto 100 μm in root and upto 50 μm in shoot and further increase in concentration resulted in decline of enzymatic activity. Protein and total nitrogen content increased upto 10 μm concentration of putrescine and it decreased further with increase in concentration both in root and shoot of maize seedling.

Arylenevinylene-co-pyrrolenevinylene (AVPV) is polymer oligomer system derived from arylbridged bispyrroles which has been explored for photovoltaic devices. In this paper, we show the dependence of the photovoltaic device parameters on the anode surface treatment in an organic single layer photovoltaic device based on AVPV as an electron donor. Since the total quantum efficiency includes the charge collection efficiency at the electrodes, experiments were carried out to vary the anode (ITO) characteristics, achieved by using ITO with or without ozonization and with or without PEDOT:PSS (Polyethylene dioxythiophene:Polystyrene sulphonic acid) layer. Devices fabricated on ITO anode (without ozonization and without PEDOT:PSS) exhibited the maximum current density (Jsc = 1.3 μA·cm–2) as compared to those devices where ITO was ozonized as well as had a PEDOT:PSS layer (Jsc = 0.1 μA·cm–2) measured under 1 sun illumination of AM 1.5 through a calibrated solar simulator.

Various physical, chemical and biological soil properties in surface (0-5 cm) and subsurface (5-15 cm) soil were determined in a 4-year field experiment conducted at Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana, India with sixteen treatments consisted of different combinations of fertilizer N (0, 20 and 25 kg N ha-1), P (0, 60 and 75 kg P2O5 ha-1), FYM (0 and 10 t·ha-1) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) residue (WR) (0 and 6 t·ha-1) applied to summer-grown soybean (Glycine max L.) and fertilizer N (0, 120 and 150 kg N ha-1), P (0, 60 and 75 kg P2O5 ha-1), and soybean residue (SR) (0 and 3 t·ha-1) applied to winter-grown wheat crop continuously in both conventional tillage (CT) and conservation agriculture (CA), arranged in a split-split plot design with tillage system in main blocks, under irrigated subtropical conditions. Application of fertilizer N, P, FYM and crop residue (CR) significantly increased water stable aggregates and had profound effects in increasing the mean weight diameter as well as the formation of macro-aggregates, which were the highest in both surface (85%) and subsurface (81%) soil layers with application of 20 kg N + 60 kg P2O5 + 10 t FYM + 6 t WR ha-1 applied to soybean and 120 kg N + 60 kg P2O5 + 3 t SR ha-1 applied to wheat crop in CA, respectively, and were 83% and 77% in CT treatments after 2 years. Hence, better aggregation was found with 100% NP + FYM + CR, where macro-aggregates were greater than 50% of total soil mass. The same treatment also enhanced total organic C (TOC) from 3.8 g·kg-1 in no-NP-FYM-CR control to 5.8 g·kg-1 in surface layer and from 2.7 to 3.6 g·kg-1 in subsurface layer after 2 years leading to the 41% and 39% higher TOC stocks over CT-Control in 0-15 cm soil layers of CT and CA, respectively. The changes in TOC stocks after 4 years were 52% and 59%.

Neck, being not protected by skeleton, is vulnerable to external trauma and injury which involves blood vessels, trachea, esophagus and other endocrine and nervous system organs. Vascular injuries can not only cause potentially, life-threatening hemorrhage but also need profound surgical expertise in man- agement. Development of collateral circulation in neck is well known： however, there is scarcity of literature on the role of collateral formation in neck trauma. Here, we present a unique case of pene- trating gunshot injury to neck with right common carotid and right subclavian artery injury with hemorrhagic shock managed with ligation of these vessels as a life-saving procedure. The patient pre- sented ~ith no neurological or motor de~,cits in immediate postoperative period owing to the collateral circulation between right vertebral artery and right common carotid and right subclavian artery.

Upper limb length discrepancy is a rare occurrence. Humerus shortening may need specialized treatment to restore the functional and cosmetic status of upper limb. We report a case of humerus lengthening of 9 cm with a monorail external fixator and the result was observed during a 2-year follow-up. Humerus lengthening needs specialized focus as it is not only a cosmetic issue but also a functional demand. The monorail unilateral fixator is more functional and cosmetically acceptable, and thus becomes an effective treatment option.

The main objectives of this research were to study the effect of water absorption on mechanical properties of hybrid fiber reinforcement for polypropylene composites. The poor resistance towards water absorption is one of the draw- backs of natural fibers. Hybrid filler-polypropylene composites are subjected to water immersion tests in order to study the effects of water absorption on the mechanical properties. Composites specimens containing 30 phr and 40 phr fiber weight were prepared by melt blending process. Water absorption tests were conducted by immersion specimens in distilled water at room temperature for different time durations (24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144, 168, 192 hours). The tensile, flexural and impact properties were investigated before and after water absorption. The percentage of moisture uptake increased as the increasing order of the filler loading due to the high cellulose content. The phase morphology of wood flour/wheat husk polypropylene hybrid composites were investigated by SEM, the dynamic mechanical properties of the composite are analyzed by DMA & wheat, wood filler interaction are analyzed by FT-IR.
