Cancer is a leading cause of death globally,with limited treatment options and several limitations.Chemotherapeutic agents often result in toxicity which long-term conventional treatment.Phytochemicals are natural constituents that are more effective in treating various diseases with less toxicity than the chemotherapeutic agents providing alternative therapeutic approaches to minimize the resistance.These phytoconstituents act in several ways and deliver optimum effectiveness against cancer.Nevertheless,the effectiveness of phyto-formulations in the management of cancers may be constrained due to challenges related to inadequate solubility,bioavailability,and stability.Nanotechnology presents a promising avenue for transforming current cancer treatment methods through the incorporation of phytochemicals into nanosystems,which possess a range of advantageous characteristics such as biocompatibility,targeted and sustained release capabilities,and enhanced protective effects.This holds significant potential for future advancements in cancer management.Herein,this review aims to provide intensive literature on diverse nanocarriers,highlighting their applications as cargos for phytocompounds in cancer.Moreover,it offers an overview of the current advancements in the respective field,emphasizing the characteristics that contribute to favourable outcomes in both in vitro and in vivo settings.Lastly,clinical development and regulatory concerns are also discussed to check on the transformation of the concept as a promising strategy for combination therapy of phytochemicals and chemotherapeutics that could lead to cancer management in the future.

Biochar applications influence soil physical and chemical properties,microbial diversity,and crop productivity:a meta-analysis

Biochar is a widely known soil amendment.Here we synthesize the available information on influence of biochar application on different soil properties and crop productivity using meta-analysis.Global data on influence of biochar applications on different soil physical,chemical,microbial properties,and crop productivity were extracted from literature and statistically analyzed.Based on selection criteria,59 studies from the literature published between 2012 and 2021 were selected for the meta-analysis.Correlations were developed between effect size of biochar application on different soil properties and crop productivity.Application of biochar increased soil pH,cation exchange capacity,and organic carbon by 46%,20%,and 27%,respectively,with greater effects in coarse and fine-textured soils.Effects on chemical properties were variable among biochar prepared from different feedstocks.Among physical properties,biochar application reduced bulk densities by 29%and increased porosity by 59%.Biochar prepared at higher pyrolytic temperatures(>500℃)improved bulk density and porosity to greater extents(31%and 66%,respectively).Biochar prepared at lower pyrolytic temperatures(<500℃)had a greater effect on microbial diversity(both bacterial and fungal),with more diverse bacterial populations in medium and coarse textured soils,while fungal diversity increased in fine textured soils.Biochar applications increased crop productivity only in fine and coarse textured soil.The effect size of biochar application on crop productivity was correlated with responses to physical properties of soils.The meta-analysis highlighted the need to conduct long-term field experiments to provide better explanations for changes in biochar properties as it undergoes aging,its longer-term effects on soil properties,and timing of re-application of different biochars.

Exploring Design Level Class Cohesion Metrics

In object oriented paradigm, cohesion of a class refers to the degree to which members of the class are interrelated. Metrics have been defined to measure cohesiveness of a class both at design and source code levels. In comparison to source code level class cohesion metrics, only a few design level class cohesion metrics have been proposed. Design level class cohesion metrics are based on the assumption that if all the methods of a class have access to similar para-meter types then they all process closely related information. A class with a large number of parameter types common in its methods is more cohesive than a class with less number of parameter types common in its methods. In this paper, we review the design level class cohesion metrics with a special focus on metrics which use similarity of parameter types of methods of a class as the basis of its cohesiveness. Basically three metrics fall in this category: Cohesion among Methods of a Class (CAMC), Normalized Hamming Distance (NHD), and Scaled NHD (SNHD). Keeping in mind the anomalies in the definitions of the existing metrics, a variant of the existing metrics is introduced. It is named NHD Modified (NHDM). An automated metric collection tool is used to collect the metric data from an open source software program. The metric data is then subjected to statistical analysis.

Finite element modeling and analysis of powder mixed electric discharge machining process for temperature distribution and volume removal considering multiple craters

Powder mixed electric discharge machining(PMEDM)is one of the modern developments in electric discharge machining(EDM)process.In the present work,finite element modeling has been carried out considering randomly oriented multiple sparks during PMEDM.Transient thermal analysis is done to obtain temperature distribution,volume removal,and proportion of volume removed by melting and evaporation at different current,pulse on time and fraction of heat that enters to work piece.Gradually growing spark behavior and Gaussian distribution of heat source is used to simulate multiple craters.Temperature distribution along radial direction shows peak temperature at center of spark and thereafter a gradual decrease with increase in radial distance.Along depth direction temperature sharply decreases that forms wider craters with shallow depth in PMEDM.Peak temperature and volume removal increases with current more rapidly.Volume removal by melting is much higher than evaporation at lower current settings and with higher current almost equal amount of material is removed by melting and evaporation thus reducing the re-solidification of melted material.Current plays a significant role behind the contribution of material removal by evaporation followed by fraction of heat.Increase in pulse on duration increases the total volume of material removal however does not significantly increase the proportion of volume removal by vaporization.

Disseminated cysticercosis presenting with bilateral proptosis: A case report

Rationale: Disseminated cysticercosis is characterized by presence of cysts in multiple body organs, like brain, skin, eyes, muscles and rarely heart and lungs.Patient concerns: A 22-year-old man presented with bilateral proptosis of 1-year duration. He also had two episodes of cysticercosis encephalitis. In the second episode of encephalopathy, the patient died.Diagnosis: Disseminated cysticercosis.Interventions: Corticosteroids(Initially intravenous dexamethasone 0.4 mg/kg/day for 2 weeks, followed by oral prednisolone 1.0 mg/kg/day).Outcomes: The patient died of cysticercosis encephalitis approximately 2 months later.Lessons: Disseminated cysticercosis in our case presented only with proptosis as he had very heavy infestation of the brain and eyes. Heavy larval infestation in a patient with disseminated cysticercosis can be life-threatening.

In recent years the role of the specialist nurse with respect to gynecology and women 5s health has gained significant importance.The advancement in the nursing practice has provided an insight to interact with patients to explore their history.Such hysteroscopy procedures may not only give a better feel to the patient but also explore the need for doctor treatment.The review updates about the ongoing advances in the field of nursing science to upgrade the life of patients with gynecological diseases.Evidence has suggested the promising role of nurses to motivate patients with improved health after the treatment.The present review will cover the various health issues of women including menstrual dysfunction,fertility,and management of pregnancy 5s termination,uro-gynecological issues,and gyne-oncology,etc.The role of nurses during the above health issue will be discussed via various procedures.Therefore,the present review will conclude the significant importance of nurses in women's health issues to sustain happiness and to strengthen the need to bring advances in the curriculum of nurses to full fill the requirement of medical staff.

A Comprehensive Review of Animal Models for Coronaviruses: SARSCoV-2, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV

The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease(COVID-19) caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2) has already affected a large population of the world. SARS-CoV-2 belongs to the same family of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERSCoV). COVID-19 has a complex pathology involving severe acute respiratory infection, hyper-immune response, and coagulopathy. At present, there is no therapeutic drug or vaccine approved for the disease. There is an urgent need for an ideal animal model that can reflect clinical symptoms and underlying etiopathogenesis similar to COVID-19 patients which can be further used for evaluation of underlying mechanisms, potential vaccines, and therapeutic strategies. The current review provides a paramount insight into the available animal models of SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV for the management of the diseases.
