Although VEGf-B was discovered as a VEGf-A homolog a long time ago,the angiogenic effect of VEGf-B remains poorly understood with limited and diverse findings from different ***,drugs that inhibit VEGf-B together with other VEGf family members are being used to treat patients with various neovascular *** is therefore critical to have a better understanding of the angiogenic effect of VEGf-B and the underlying *** comprehensive in vitro and in vivo methods and models,we reveal here for the first time an unexpected and surprising function of VEGf-B as an endogenous inhibitor of angiogenesis by inhibiting the fGf2/fGfR1 pathway when the latter is abundantly ***,we unveil that VEGf-B binds to fGfR1,induces fGfR1/VEGfR1 complex formation,and suppresses fGf2-induced Erk activation,and inhibits fGf2-driven angiogenesis and tumor *** work uncovers a previously unrecognized novel function of VEGf-B in tethering the fGf2/fGfR1 *** the anti-angiogenic nature of VEGf-B under conditions of high fGf2/fGfR1 levels,caution is warranted when modulating VEGf-B activity to treat neovascular diseases.

We investigate the magnetism of a previously unexplored distorted spin-1/2 kagome model consisting of three symmetry-inequivalent nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic Heisenberg couplings J_(■),J,and J′,and uncover a rich ground state phase diagram even at the classical *** analytical arguments and numerical techniques we identify a collinear Q^(→)=0 magnetic phase,two unusual non-collinear coplanar Q^(→)=(1/3,1/3)phases and a classical spin liquid phase with a degenerate manifold of non-coplanar ground states,resembling the jammed spin liquid phase found in the context of a bond-disordered kagome *** further show with density functional theory calculations that the recently synthesized Y-kapellasite Y_(3)Cu_(9)(OH)_(19)C_(l8) is a realization of this model and predict its ground state to lie in the region of Q^(→)=(1/3,1/3)order,which remains stable even after the inclusion of quantum fluctuation effects within variational Monte Carlo and pseudofermion functional renormalization *** presented model opens a new direction in the study of kagome antiferromagnets.

AIM: To evaluate double balloon enteroscopy (DBE) in post-surgical patients to perform endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and interventions. METHODS: In 37 post-surgical patients, a stepwise approach was performed to reach normal papilla or enteral anastomoses of the biliary tract/pancreas. When conventional endoscopy failed, DBE-based ERCP was performed and standard parameters for DBE, ERCP and interventions were recorded. RESULTS: Push-enteroscopy (overall, 16 procedures) reached enteral anastomoses only in six out of 37 post-surgical patients (16.2%). DBE achieved a high rate of luminal access to the biliary tract in 23 of the remaining 31 patients (74.1%) and to the pancreatic duct (three patients). Among all DBE-based ERCPs (86 procedures), 21/23 patients (91.3%) were successfully treated. Interventions included ostium incision or papillotomy in 6/23 (26%) and 7/23 patients (30.4%), respectively. Biliary endoprosthesis insertion and regular exchange was achieved in 17/23 (73.9%) and 7/23 patients (30.4%), respectively. furthermore, bile duct stone extraction as well as ostium and papillary dilation were performed in 5/23 (21.7%) and 3/23 patients (13.0%), respectively. Complications during DBE-based procedures were bleeding (1.1%), perforation (2.3%) and pancreatitis (2.3%), and minor complications occurred in up to 19.1%. CONCLUSION: The appropriate use of DBE yields a high rate of luminal access to papilla or enteral anastomoses in more than two-thirds of post-surgical patients, allowing important successful endoscopic therapeutic interventions.

NaYf_(4):Eu nanorods with high aspect ratios are elaborated and optically trapped using dual fiber optical tweezers in a counterpropagating geometry. High trapping efficiency is observed using converging beams, emitted from diffractive fresnel lenses directly 3D printed onto cleaved fiber facets. Stable nanorod trapping and alignment are reported for a fiber-to-fiber distance of 200 μm and light powers down to 10 m W. Trapping of nanorod clusters containing one to three nanorods and the coupling of nanorod motion in both axial and transverse directions are considered and discussed. The europium emission is studied by polarization-resolved spectroscopy with particular emphasis on the magnetic and electric dipole transitions. The respective σ and π orientations of the different emission lines are determined. The angles with respect to the nanorod axes of the corresponding magnetic and electric dipoles are calculated. Mono-exponential emission decay with decay time of 4–5 ms is reported. It is shown that the nanorod orientation can be determined by purely spectroscopic means.

The effects of melt composition,temperature and pressure on the solubility of fluorite(Caf2),i.e.,fluorine concentration in silicate melts in equilibrium with fluorite,are summarized in this *** authors present a statistic study based on experimental data in literature and propose a predictive model to estimate f concentration in melt at the saturation of fluorite(Cfin melt^fl-sat).The modeling indicates that the compositional effect of melt cations on the variation in can be expressed quantitatively as one parameter fSI(fluorite saturation index):fSI=(3Al^NM+fe^2++6Mg+Ca+1.5Na-K)/(Si+Ti+Al^Nf+fe^3+),in which all cations are in mole,and Al^Nf and Al^NM are A1 as network-forming and network-modifying cations,*** dependence of Cfin melt^fl-sat on fSI is regressed as:Cfin melt^fl-sat=1.130-2.014·exp(1000/T)+2.747·exp(P/T)+0.111·CmeltH2O+17.641·fSI,in which T is temperature in Kelvin,P is pressure in MPa,CmeltH2O is melt H2O content in wt.%,and Cfin melt^fl-sat is in wt.%(normalized to anhydrous basis).The reference dataset used to establish the expression for conditions within 540-1010℃,50-500 MPa,0-7 wt.%melt H2O content,0.4 to 1.7 for A/CNK,0.3 wt.%-7.0 wt.%for Cfin melt^*** discrepancy of Cfin melt^fl-sat between calculated and measured values is less than±0.62 wt.%with a confidence interval of 95%.The expression of fSI and its effect on Cfin melt^fl-sat indicate that fluorine incorporation in silicate melts is largely controlled by bonding with network-modifying cations,favorably with Mg,Al^NM,Na,Ca and fe^2+in a decreasing *** proposed model for predicting Cfin melt^fl-sat is also supported by our new experiments saturated with magmatic fluorite performed at 100-200 MPa and 800-900℃.The modeling of magma fractional crystallization emphasizes that the saturation of fluorite is dependent on both the compositions of primary magmas and their initial f contents.

Morphology of the donor:acceptor blend plays a critical role in the photovoltaic performance of the organic solar cells (OSCs).Herein,liquid-phase-exfoliated black phosphorus nanoflakes (BPNfs),for their outstanding electronic property and good compatibility to solution process,were applied to fullerene-free OSCs as morphology *** by X-ray scattering measurements,the PTB7-Th:IEICO-4f blends incorporated with BPNfs exhibit more ordered π-π stacking and promoted domain purity,contributing to lower charge transport resistance and suppressed charge recombination within the bulk heterojunction (BHJ).As a result,a high fill factor (ff) of 0.73 and a best power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 12.2% were obtained for fullerene-free OSCs based on PTB7-Th:IEICO-4f blends incorporating with BPNfs,which is among the highest ff of the as-cast fullerene-free OSCs with PCE over 12%.More importantly,the embedded BPNfs help to improve the morphological stability of the devices probably by retarding the phase mixing in the BHJ during the aging ***,analogous enhancements were observed in another fullerene-free OSCs based on PBDB-T:*** a word,this work provides a new strategy of using two-dimentional nanoflakes as facile and universal morphology modifier for efficient fullerene-free OSCs.

Real-time satellite orbit and clock estimations are the prerequisite for Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)real-time precise positioning *** meet the high-rate update requirement of satellite clock corrections,the computational efficiency is a key factor and a challenge due to the rapid development of multi-GNSS *** Square Root Information filter(SRIf)is widely used in real-time GNSS data processing thanks to its high numerical stability and computational *** real-time clock estimation,the outlier detection and elimination are critical to guarantee the precision and stability of the product but could be *** this study,we developed a new quality control procedure including the three standard steps:i.e.,detection,identification,and adaption,for real-time data processing of huge GNSS *** is made to improve the computational efficiency by optimizing the algorithm to provide only the essential information required in the processing,so that it can be applied in real-time and high-rate estimation of satellite *** processing procedure is implemented in the PANDA(Positioning and Navigation Data Analyst)software package and evaluated in the operational generation of real-time GNSS orbit and clock *** demonstrated that the new algorithm can efficiently eliminate outliers,and a clock precision of 0.06 ns,0.24 ns,0.06 ns,and 0.11 ns can be achieved for the GPS,GLONASS,Galileo,and BDS-2 IGSO/MEO satellites,*** computation time per epoch is about 2 to 3 s depending on the number of existing ***,the algorithm can satisfy the IGS real-time clock estimation in terms of both the computational efficiency and product quality.

The previously developed numerical model available for predicting nitrogen oxide emissions uses flamelet approach to calculate the flame properties and estimates the concentration of NO_(X) with GRI 3.0 mechanism by solving the species transport *** existing model is further optimized to reduce the computation time without losing the *** approaches,by modifying the reaction rate calculation method,by predicting the initial values and by using dynamic mesh refinement,were implemented on OpenfOAM and analyzed with experimental data from Sandia flame *** application of post-processor in simulating an industrial burner of 850 kW to determine nitrogen oxide emissions is also demonstrated.
