Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) with Grave’s Disease, in a Plasmodium Vivax Positive Patient. A Case Report

Hyperthyroidism and thrombocytopenia have long been associated with each other. We present a case of 38 years old female presenting with complaints of bleeding from gums, bleeding per rectum, hematuria and easy bruising since 7 days ago. she also had a diffuse, non-tender neck swelling moving with deglutition and positive bruit on auscultation. Her laboratory results indicated thrombocytopenia (22 × 10^9/L) and her thyroid function test revealed TsH of 0.01 mIU/ml (normal: 0.17 - 4.05), free T3 of 19.19 pg/ml (normal: 1.6 - 3.7), free T4 of 4.09 ng/dl (normal: 0.89 - 1.79). Thyroid scan showed diffuse goiter with increased tracer uptake. Furthermore, her serum anti-thyroglobulin and anti-thyroid peroxide were elevated to 205 IU/ml and 713 IU/ml respectively. she was started on carbimazole and methylprednisolone immediately. On the 3rd day of admission, she was tested to be positive for Plasmodium Vivax after a fever spike and was started on Chloroquine (CQ) and later shifted to Primaquine (PQ). During 2 weeks of admission, her platelet count kept fluctuating between sfusions of mega units of platelets. During 3rd week, her platelets improved and she was discharged with a platelet count of 370 × 10^9/L. This case, therefore, supports the association between autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Graves’ disease and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) strongly suggesting the need for evaluating thyroid disease in cases of severe thrombocytopenia especially those refractory to treatment. Also, the effectiveness of treatment of thyroid disease on thrombocytopenia is also highlighted. In addition, it showed the possible added exacerbating effects of malarial infection on thrombocytopenia.

Electrical transport properties of the La0.7Ca0.3MnO3nanoparticles have been inves-tigated in the temperature range 300 to 9 K as a function of magnetic field. samples were pre-pared by auto-ignition method. In low tempera-ture regime from 40 to 9 K, an increase in the resistivity has been observed. This effect is found to decrease as magnetic field is increased. It is assumed that these effects are due to the magnetic contacts between the nanoparticles.

A brain tumor is a lethal neurological disease that affects the average performance of the brain and can be *** India,around 15 million cases are diagnosed *** mitigate the seriousness of the tumor it is essential to diagnose at the ***,the manual evaluation process utilizing Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)causes a few worries,remarkably inefficient and inaccurate brain tumor ***,the examination process of brain tumors is intricate as they display high unbalance in nature like shape,size,appearance,and ***,a precise and expeditious prognosis of brain tumors is essential for implementing the of an implicit *** computer models adapted to diagnose the tumor,but the accuracy of the model needs to be *** all the above mentioned things,this work aims to identify the best classification system by considering the prediction accuracy out of Alex-Net,ResNet 50,and Inception *** augmentation is performed on the database and fed into the three convolutions neural network(CNN)models.A comparison line is drawn between the three models based on accuracy and *** accuracy of 96.2%is obtained for AlexNet with augmentation and performed better than ResNet 50 and Inception V3 for the 120th *** the suggested model with higher accuracy,it is highly reliable if brain tumors are diagnosed with available datasets.

In this report,we aimed to analyze the prevalence of undernutrition and associated factors among children under 5 years of age in Lhaviyani Atoll,Maldives.A total of 800 children(under 5 years old) and their mothers were selected for this *** was collected by using a pretested questionnaire and anthropometric measurements were taken from the hospital record ***-square tests and multivariate logistic regression were used to find the association between nutritional status and *** distribution of height for age and weight for age in surveyed children in Maldives was skewed to the left compared with the WHO *** prevalence of undernutrition based on underweight(10.75%),stunting(13.5%),and wasting(9.60%) was estimated to be 23.85% among *** age,gender and mother’s education were significantly associated with undernutrition(Psurvey highlighted that better nutritional interventions are needed to improve child health in this region.

The ribosomal protein contains complex structures that belong to polypeptide glycoprotein family,which are involved in plant growth and responses to various *** this study,we found that capsicum annuum 40s ribosomal protein sA-like(CasLP)was extensively accumulated in the cell nucleus and cell membrane,and the expression level of CasLP was up-regulated by salicylic acid(sA)and drought *** fewer peppers plants could withstand drought stress after CasLP gene *** transient expression of CasLP leads to drought tolerance in pepper,and Arabidopsis’s ability to withstand drought stress was greatly improved by overexpressing the CasLP *** application of sA during spraying season enhanced drought ***-knockdown pepper plants demonstrated a decreased resistance of Pseudomonas syringae ***(Pst)DC3000(***3000),whereas ectopic expression of CasLP increased the ***3000 stress resistance in *** two-hybrid(Y2H)and bimolecular fluorescence complementation(BiFC)results showed that CaNAC035 physically interacts with CasLP in the cell ***035 was identified as an upstream partner of the CaPR1 promoter and activated *** the findings demonstrated that CasLP plays an essential role in the regulation of drought and ***3000 stress resistance.

Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is an established therapy for selected heart failure (HF) patients to improve symptoms, ventricular function, and survival. Although increasingly used, left ventricular (LV) dyssynchrony assessment by echocardiography has failed to show enough predictive value to assess patient response to CRT and the current guidelines do not recommend its routine use. Furthermore, a variety of echocardiographic techniques used for the purpose, including tissue Doppler imaging (TDI), real time three-dimensional echocardiography, M-mode, and various Doppler parameters, showed limited value and poor agreement between the studies and methods, greatly influenced by interobserver variability. speckle tracking echocardiography (sTE) is a more recent approach that uses strain imaging to assess LV dyssynchrony. This article discusses the speckle tracking for LV dyssynchrony and its current clinical applications.

Mango which is also known as the king of fruits in the country is the second largest growing fruit after citrus in Pakistan. Although mango is being grown in more than hundred countries none of them is comparable to Pakistani mango which is famous for its unique taste all over the world. Pakistan＇s per hectare production is much lower than its potential. The purpose of this study was to assess those factors which are preventing mango growers from getting its potential yield. For this major mango producing area, Muzzaffargarh was selected. The 110 randomly selected farmers were interviewed with a well-designed questionnaire. The mango growers were divided into three categories on the basis of landholding. The Cobb-Douglas model was used to assess the effect of different factors on the productivity. The education level and age of large farmers was found highest among small and medium farmers. Large farmers were enjoying significant high profit per acre with Us$519.58 as compared to medium farmers （Us$454.15） and small farmers （Us$395.10）. The independent variables were explaining almost 89 percent variation in productivity of mango. The significant positive effect of orchard experience, access to extension services, the quantity of NPK, quantity of pesticides and labour cost was found. The age and intercropping practices in mango orchard had a significant negative effect on mango production. Credit facilities must be made available at lower interest rate and the range of extension services must be enhanced to increase the productivity of mango.

Enhanced room temperature ferromagnetism in Cr-doped ZnO nanoparticles prepared by auto-combustion method

Zn1-xCrxO （x = 0.00, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, and 0.09） nanoparticles were synthesized, by an auto-com- bustion method. structural, optical, and magnetic characteristics of Cr-doped ZnO samples calcined at 600 ℃ have been analyzed by using X-ray diffraction （XRD）, field emission scanning electron microscope （FEsEM）, UV-Vis spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer （VsM）. The XRD data confirmed the hexagonal wurtzite structure of pure and Cr-doped ZnO nanoparticles. The calculated values of grain size using scherrer＇s formula are in the range of 30.7-9.2 nm. The morphology of nanopowders has been observed by FEsEM, and EDs results con- firmed a systematic increase of Cr content in the samples and clearly indicate with no impurity element. The band gaps, computed by UV-Vis spectroscopy, are in the range of 2.83-2.35 eV for different doping concentrations. By analyzing VsM data, significantly enhanced room temperature ferromagnetism is identified in Cr-doped ZnO samples. The value of magnetization is a 12 times increased of the value reported by Daun et al. （2010）. Room temperature ferromagnetism of the nanoparticles is of vital prominence for spintronics applications.
