Emerging contaminants(ECs)in drinking water pose threats to public health due to their environmental prevalence and potential toxicity.The occurrence of ECs in our drinking water supplies depends on their physicochemical properties,discharging rate,and susceptibility to removal by water treatment processes.Uncertain health effects of long-term exposure to ECs justify their regular monitoring in drinking water supplies.In this review article,we will summarize the current status and future opportunities of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)for EC analysis in drinking water.Working principles of SERS are first introduced and a comparison of SERS and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry in terms of cost,time,sensitivity,and availability is made.Subsequently,we discuss the strategies for designing effective SERS sensors for EC analysis based on five categories—per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances,novel pesticides,pharmaceuticals,endocrine-disrupting chemicals,and microplastics.In addition to maximizing the intrinsic enhancement factors of SERS substrates,strategies to improve hot spot accessibilities to the targeting ECs are equally important.This is a review article focusing on SERS analysis of ECs in drinking water.The discussions are not only guided by numerous endeavors to advance SERS technology but also by the drinking water regulatory policy.

Simultaneous broadband absorption and polarization conversion are crucial in many practical applications,especially in terahertz communications.Thus,actively tunable metamaterial systems can exploit the graphene-based nanomaterials derived from renewable resources because of the flexible surface conductivity and selective permeability of the nanomaterials at terahertz frequencies.In this paper,we propose a graphene-based active tunable bifunctional metasurface for dynamic terahertz absorption and polarization conversion.The graphene ring presents a certain opening angle(A)along the diagonal of the xoy plane.When A=0°,the proposed metasurface behaves as a broadband absorber.Numerical results show the feasibility of achieving this polarization-insensitive absorber with nearly 100%absorptance,and the bandwidth of its 90%absorptance is 1.22 THz under normal incidence.Alternatively,when A=40°after optimization,the proposed metasurface serves as a broadband polarization convertor,resulting in robust broadband polarization conversion ratio(PCR)curves with a bandwidth surpassing 0.5 THz in the reflection spectrum.To tune the PCR response or the broad absorption spectrum of graphene,we change the Fermi energy of graphene dynamically from 0 to 0.9 eV.Furthermore,both the broadband absorption and the linear polarization conversion spectra of the proposed metasurface exhibit insensitivity to the incident angle,allowing large incident angles within 40°under high-performance operating conditions.To demonstrate the physical process,we present the impedance matching theory and measure electric field distributions.This architecture in the THz frequency range has several applications,such as in modulators,sensors,stealth,and optoelectronic switches.THz wave polarization and beam steering also have broad application prospects in the field of intelligent systems.

The association among plasma trimethylamine-N-oxide(TMAO),FMO3 polymorphisms,and chronic heart failure(CHF)remains to be elucidated.TMAO is a microbiota-dependent metabolite from dietary choline and carnitine.A prospective study was performed including 955 consecutively diagnosed CHF patients with reduced ejection fraction,with the longest follow-up of 7 years.The concentrations of plasma TMAO and its precursors,namely,choline and carnitine,were determined by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry,and the FMO3 E158K polymorphisms(rs2266782)were genotyped.The top tertile of plasma TMAO was associated with a significant increment in hazard ratio(HR)for the composite outcome of cardiovascular death or heart transplantation(HR=1.47,95%CI=1.13-1.91,P=0.004)compared with the lowest tertile.After adjustments of the potential confounders,higher TMAO could still be used to predict the risk of the primary endpoint(adjusted HR=1.33,95%CI=1.01-1.74,P=0.039).This result was also obtained after further adjustment for carnitine(adjusted HR=1.33,95%CI=1.01-1.74,P=0.039).The FM03 rs2266782 polymorphism was associated with the plasma TMAO concentrations in our cohort,and lower TMAO levels were found in the AA-genotype.Thus,higher plasma TMAO levels indicated increased risk of the composite outcome of cardiovascular death or heart transplantation independent of potential confounders,and the FMO3 AA-genotype in rs2266782 was related to lower plasma TMAO levels.

Emerging contaminants refer to newly discovered or previously overlooked contaminants that pose potential risks to the ecological environment and human health.They have not been included in environmental management practices or are inadequately addressed by existing management measures.Main focuses of emerging contaminants include persistent organic pollutants,endocrine disrupting chemicals,antibiotics and microplastics,among others.These contaminants have been widely detected in the environment and are considered urgent concerns for environmental safety and human health.However,compared to traditional pollutants,emerging contaminants are generally not well regulated by law-enforcement agencies.

Previous studies have revealed that patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM)exhibit differences in symptom severity and prognosis,indicating potential HCM subtypes among these patients.Here,793 patients with HCM were recruited at an average follow-up of 32.78±27.58 months to identify potential HCM subtypes by performing consensus clustering on the basis of their echocardiography features.Furthermore,we proposed a systematic method for illustrating the relationship between the phenotype and genotype of each HCM subtype by using machine learning modeling and interactome network detection techniques based on whole-exome sequencing data.Another independent cohort that consisted of 414 patients with HCM was recruited to replicate the findings.Consequently,two subtypes characterized by different clinical outcomes were identified in HCM.Patients with subtype 2 presented asymmetric septal hypertrophy associated with a stable course,while those with subtype 1 displayed left ventricular systolic dysfunction and aggressive progression.Machine learning modeling based on personal whole-exome data identified 46 genes with mutation burden that could accurately predict subtype propensities.Furthermore,the patients in another cohort predicted as subtype 1 by the 46-gene model presented increased left ventricular end-diastolic diameter and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction.By employing echocardiography and genetic screening for the 46 genes,HCM can be classified into two subtypes with distinct clinical outcomes.

Rapidly increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has drawn more and more attention in recent years, and adsorption has been considered as an effective technology for CO2 capture from the anthropogenic sources. In this paper, the attractive adsorbents including activated carbons and amine-modified materials were mainly reviewed and discussed with particular attention on progress in the adsorbent preparation and C02 adsorption capacity. Carbon materials can be prepared from different precursors including fossil fuels, biomass and resins using the carbonization-activation or only activation process, and activated carbons prepared by KOH activation with high CO2 adsorbed amount were reviewed in the preparation, adsorption capacity as well as the relationship between the pore characteristics and CO2 adsorption. For the amine-modified materials, the physical impregnation and chemical graft of polyethylenimine （PEI） on the different porous materials were introduced in terms of preparation method and adsorption perfor- mance as well as their advantages and disadvantages for CO2 adsorption. In the last section, the issues and prospect of solid adsorbents for CO2 adsorption were summarized, and it is expected that this review will be helpful for the fundamental studies and industrial applications of acti- vated carbons and amine-modified adsorbents for CO2 capture.

为了考察纳米黏土(NC)的引入对碳纳米管(CNTs)在聚苯乙烯(PS)树脂基体中分散的影响,使用NC作为非导电填料,通过熔融共混工艺制备了PS/CNTs/NC导电复合材料,探讨了NC与CNTs的含量及密炼时间对PS/CNTs/NC复合材料导电性能和力学性能的影响规律。扫描电子显微镜分析表明NC的加入减少了CNTs在PS基体中的团聚现象,并促使CNTs在较低添加量下形成了导电网状结构。复合材料的电阻率表征结果表明,在相同的CNTs含量下随着复合材料中NC含量的增加,体系电阻率呈现出逐渐减小趋势,并且在低CNTs添加量下,NC的引入促使体系电阻率降低的现象更明显,随着密炼时间的增加,体系电阻率呈现进一步减小的现象;力学性能表征结果表明,PS/CNTs/NC复合材料的拉伸性能总体上随着CNTs和NC含量的增加而增大,并且随着密炼时间的增加,复合材料拉伸强度最高可增加50.2%。NC与CNTs的质量比为1∶1时,可获得具有良好导电性能的复合材料。

某社区人群对阿尔茨海默病早期筛查意愿分析

目的了解城市社区居民阿尔茨海默病早期筛查意愿及影响因素,为采取相关干预措施、提高筛查意愿提供依据。方法自行编制调查问卷。数据采用EpiData 3.0建立数据库,并用SPSS 26.0软件包进行统计分析。利用卡方检验进行单因素分析,用Logistic回归进行多因素分析。结果发放问卷200份,有效问卷183份,有效率为91.50%。在阿尔茨海默病的认知水平方面,有83人阿尔茨海默病相关知识掌握程度≥12分,占45.36%;100人阿尔茨海默病相关知识掌握程度<12分,占54.64%。在筛查意愿方面,170人(92.90%)愿意参与早期筛查,13人(7.10%)表示不愿意参与筛查。影响因素分析显示,阿尔茨海默病认知水平高、医学相关工作者以及愿意获取阿尔茨海默病相关知识的人群倾向于参加早期筛查。结论社区人群关于阿尔茨海默病筛查宣传教育应以阿尔茨海默病认知水平低、非医学工作者为重点人群。
