Graphene-Based Active Tunable Metasurfaces for Dynamic Terahertz Absorption and Polarization Conversion

Simultaneous broadband absorption and polarization conversion are crucial in many practical applications,especially in terahertz ***,actively tunable metamaterial systems can exploit the graphene-based nanomaterials derived from renewable resources because of the flexible surface conductivity and selective permeability of the nanomaterials at terahertz *** this paper,we propose a graphene-based active tunable bifunctional metasurface for dynamic terahertz absorption and polarization *** graphene ring presents a certain opening angle(A)along the diagonal of the xoy *** A=0°,the proposed metasurface behaves as a broadband *** results show the feasibility of achieving this polarization-insensitive absorber with nearly 100%absorptance,and the bandwidth of its 90%absorptance is 1.22 THz under normal ***,when A=40°after optimization,the proposed metasurface serves as a broadband polarization convertor,resulting in robust broadband polarization conversion ratio(PCR)curves with a bandwidth surpassing 0.5 THz in the reflection *** tune the PCR response or the broad absorption spectrum of graphene,we change the Fermi energy of graphene dynamically from 0 to 0.9 ***,both the broadband absorption and the linear polarization conversion spectra of the proposed metasurface exhibit insensitivity to the incident angle,allowing large incident angles within 40°under high-performance operating *** demonstrate the physical process,we present the impedance matching theory and measure electric field *** architecture in the THz frequency range has several applications,such as in modulators,sensors,stealth,and optoelectronic *** wave polarization and beam steering also have broad application prospects in the field of intelligent systems.

Rapidly increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has drawn more and more attention in recent years, and adsorption has been considered as an effective technology for CO2 capture from the anthropogenic sources. In this paper, the attractive adsorbents including activated carbons and amine-modified materials were mainly reviewed and discussed with particular attention on progress in the adsorbent preparation and C02 adsorption capacity. Carbon materials can be prepared from different precursors including fossil fuels, biomass and resins using the carbonization-activation or only activation process, and activated carbons prepared by KOH activation with high CO2 adsorbed amount were reviewed in the preparation, adsorption capacity as well as the relationship between the pore characteristics and CO2 adsorption. For the amine-modified materials, the physical impregnation and chemical graft of polyethylenimine （PEI） on the different porous materials were introduced in terms of preparation method and adsorption perfor- mance as well as their advantages and disadvantages for CO2 adsorption. In the last section, the issues and prospect of solid adsorbents for CO2 adsorption were summarized, and it is expected that this review will be helpful for the fundamental studies and industrial applications of acti- vated carbons and amine-modified adsorbents for CO2 capture.

Phenylacetylglutamine(PAGln)is an amino acid derivate that comes from the amino acid *** are increasing studies showing that the level of PAGln is associated with the risk of different cardiovascular *** this review,we discussed the metabolic pathway of PAGln production and the quantitative measurement methods of *** summarized the epidemiological evidence to show the role of PAGln in diagnostic and prognostic value in several cardiovascular diseases,such as heart failure,coronary heart disease/atherosclerosis,and cardiac *** underlying mechanism of PAGln is now considered to be related to the thrombotic potential of platelets via adrenergic ***,other possible mechanisms such as inflammatory response and oxidative stress could also be induced by ***,since PAGln is produced across different organs including the intestine,liver,and kidney,the cross-talk among multiple organs focused on the function of this uremic toxic ***,the prognostic value of PAGln compared to the classical biomarker was discussed and we also highlighted important gaps in knowledge and areas requiring future investigation of PAGln in cardiovascular diseases.

The realization of 100%polarized topologicalWeyl fermions in half-metallic ferromagnets is of particular importance for fundamental research and spintronic ***,we theoretically investigate the electronic and topological properties of the zinc-blende compound VAs,which was deemed as a half-metallic ferromagnet related to dynamic *** on the combination of density functional theory and dynamical mean field theory,we uncover that the half-metallic ferromagnet VAs exhibits attractive Weyl semimetallic behaviors which are very close to the Fermi level in the DFT+U regime with effect U values ranging from 1.5 eV to 2.5 ***,we also investigate the magnetization-dependent topological properties;the results show that the change of magnetization directions only slightly affects the positions of Weyl points,which is attributed to the weak spin–orbital coupling *** topological surface states of VAs projected on semi-infinite(001)and(111)surfaces are *** Fermi arcs of all Weyl points are clearly visible on the projected Fermi *** findings suggest that VAs is a fully spin-polarized Weyl semimetal with many-body correlated effects in the effective U values range from 1.5 eV to 2.5 eV.

Recovery of Ni(Ⅱ)from real electroplating wastewater using fixed-bed resin adsorption and subsequent electrodeposition

Effective recovery of high-value heavy metals from electroplating wastewater is of great significance,but recovering nickel ions from real electroplating wastewater as nickel sheet has not been *** this study,the pilot-scale fixed-bed resin adsorption was conducted to recover Ni(Ⅱ)ions from real nickel plating wastewater,and then the concentrated Ni(Ⅱ)ions in the regenerated solution were reduced to nickel sheet via electrodeposition.A commercial cation-exchange resin was selected and the optimal resin adsorption and regeneration conditions were *** resin exhibited an adsorption capacity of 63 mg/g for Ni(Ⅱ)ions,and the average amount of treated water was 84.6 bed volumes(BV)in the pilot-scale *** the adsorption by two ion-exchange resin columns in series and one chelating resin column,the concentrations of Ni(Ⅱ)in the treated wastewater were below 0.1 mg/*** the regeneration of the spent resin using 3 BVof 4%(w/w)HC1 solution,1.5 BV of concentrated neutral nickel solution(>30 g/L)was obtained and used in the subsequent electrodeposition *** the aeration method,alkali and water required in resin activation process were greatly reduced to 2 BV and 3 BV,*** the optimal electrodeposition conditions,95.6%of Ni(Ⅱ)in desorption eluent could be recovered as the elemental nickel on the cathode,llie total treatment cost for the resin adsorption and regeneration as well as the electrodeposition was calculated.

The fitting of water requirement and yield during the growth period of winter wheat can improve yield effectively and improve irrigation water use efficiency with a certain amount of resource input. This paper selects the irrigation amount, precipitation and yield of winter wheat at the Wuqiao Scientific Observation and Experimental Station. Fitting the water requirement and yield of winter wheat based on three types of artificial neural networks. This paper uses support vector machine (SVM), thought evolution algorithm to optimize BP neural network (MAE-BP) and generalized regression neural network (GRNN) to fit the water requirement and yield of two crops. The SVM is the model with the highest fitting accuracy among the three models, the RMSE, MAE, NS and R2 between predictive value and true value are 7.45 kg/hectares, 213.64 kg/hectares, 0.8086, 0.9409 respectively.

The association among plasma trimethylamine-N-oxide(TMAO),FMO3 polymorphisms,and chronic heart failure(CHF)remains to be *** is a microbiota-dependent metabolite from dietary choline and carnitine.A prospective study was performed including 955 consecutively diagnosed CHF patients with reduced ejection fraction,with the longest follow-up of 7 *** concentrations of plasma TMAO and its precursors,namely,choline and carnitine,were determined by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry,and the FMO3 E158K polymorphisms(rs2266782)were *** top tertile of plasma TMAO was associated with a significant increment in hazard ratio(HR)for the composite outcome of cardiovascular death or heart transplantation(HR=1.47,95%CI=1.13-1.91,P=0.004)compared with the lowest *** adjustments of the potential confounders,higher TMAO could still be used to predict the risk of the primary endpoint(adjusted HR=1.33,95%CI=1.01-1.74,P=0.039).This result was also obtained after further adjustment for carnitine(adjusted HR=1.33,95%CI=1.01-1.74,P=0.039).The FM03 rs2266782 polymorphism was associated with the plasma TMAO concentrations in our cohort,and lower TMAO levels were found in the ***,higher plasma TMAO levels indicated increased risk of the composite outcome of cardiovascular death or heart transplantation independent of potential confounders,and the FMO3 AA-genotype in rs2266782 was related to lower plasma TMAO levels.
