In recent years,multi-modal flexible tactile sensors have become an important direction in the development of electronic skin because of their excellent sensitivity,flexibility and wearable properties.In this work,a humidity-pressure multi-modal flexible sensor based on polypyrrole(PPy)/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) sensitive film packaged with porous polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)is investigated by combining the sensitive structure generation mechanism of in situ polymerization to achieve the simultaneous detection of humidity and pressure,which has a sensitivity of 89,113.4Ω/%RH in a large humidity range of 0%-97%RH,and response/recovery time of 2.5/1.9 s.The tactile pressure sensing has a high sensitivity,a fast response of 67/52 ms,and a wide detection limit.The device also has excellent performance in terms of stability and repeatability,making it promising for respiratory pattern and motion detection.This work provides a new solution to address the construction of multi-modal tactile sensors with potential applications in the fields of medical health,epidemic prevention.

The incorporation of heteroatoms into carbon aerogels(CAs)can lead to structural distortions and changes in active sites due to their smaller size and electronegativity compared to pure carbon.However,the evolution of the electronic structure from single-atom doping to heteroatom codoping in CAs has not yet been thoroughly investigated,and the impact of codoping on potassium ion(K+)storage and diffusion pathways as electrode material remains unclear.In this study,experimental and theoretical simulations were conducted to demonstrate that heteroatom codoping,composed of multiple heteroatoms(O/N/B)with different properties,has the potential to improve the electrical properties and stability of CAs compared to single-atom doping.Electronic states near the Fermi level have revealed that doping with O/N/B generates a greater number of active centers on adjacent carbon atoms than doping with O and O/N atoms.As a result of synergy with enhanced wetting ability(contact angle of 9.26°)derived from amino groups and hierarchical porous structure,ON-CA has the most optimized adsorption capacity(−1.62 eV)and diffusion barrier(0.12 eV)of K^(+).The optimal pathway of K^(+)in ON-CA is along the carbon ring with N or O doping.As K^(+)storage material for supercapacitors and ion batteries,it shows an outstanding specific capacity and capacitance,electrochemical stability,and rate performance.Especially,the assembled symmetrical K^(+)supercapacitor demonstrates an energy density of 51.8 Wh kg^(−1),an ultrahigh power density of 443Wkg^(−1),and outstanding cycling stability(maintaining 83.3%after 10,000 cycles in 1M KPF6 organic electrolyte).This research provides valuable insights into the design of highperformance potassium ion storage materials.

Polysaccharides from Chinese herbal medicine:a review on the hepatoprotective and molecular mechanism

Polysaccharides,predominantly extracted from traditional Chinese medicinal herbs such as Lycium barbarum,Angelica sinensis,Astragalus membranaceus,Dendrobium officinale,Ganoderma lucidum,and Poria cocos,represent principal bioactive constituents extensively utilized in Chinese medicine.These compounds have demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory capabilities,especially anti-liver injury activities,while exhibiting minimal adverse effects.This review summarized recent studies to elucidate the hepatoprotective efficacy and underlying molecular mechanisms of these herbal polysaccharides.It underscored the role of these polysaccharides in regulating hepatic function,enhancing immunological responses,and improving antioxidant capacities,thus contributing to the attenuation of hepatocyte apoptosis and liver protection.Analyses of molecular pathways in these studies revealed the intricate and indispensable functions of traditional Chinese herbal polysaccharides in liver injury management.Therefore,this review provides a thorough examination of the hepatoprotective attributes and molecular mechanisms of these medicinal polysaccharides,thereby offering valuable insights for the advancement of polysaccharide-based therapeutic research and their potential clinical applications in liver disease treatment.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB) utilizes multiple mechanisms to obtain antibiotic resistance during the treatment of infections. In addition, the biofilms, secreted by MTB, can further protect the latter from the contact with drug molecules and immune cells. These self-defending mechanisms lay a formidable challenge to develop effective therapeutic agents against chronic and recurring antibiotictolerant MTB infections. Although several inexpensive and effective drugs(isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide and ethambutol) have been discovered for the treatment regimen, MTB continues to cause considerable morbidity and mortality worldwide. Antibiotic resistance and tolerance remain major global issues, and innovative therapeutic strategies are urgently needed to address the challenges associated with pathogenic bacteria. Gratifyingly, the cell wall synthesis of tubercle bacilli requires the participation of many enzymes which exclusively exist in prokaryotic organisms. These enzymes, absent in human hepatocytes, are recognized as promising targets to develop anti-tuberculosis drug. In this paper, we discussed the critical roles of potential drug targets in regulating cell wall synthesis of MTB. And also, we systematically reviewed the advanced development of novel bioactive compounds or drug leads for inhibition of cell wall synthesis, including their discovery, chemical modification, in vitro and in vivo evaluation.

Efficacy of Daoyin combined with lower limb robot as a comprehensive rehabilitation intervention for stroke patients: a randomized controlled trial

OBJECTIVE: To assess the effectiveness of a comprehensive rehabilitation approach combining Traditional Chinese Medicine Daoyin with lower limb robotics during the recovery phase of stroke patients.METHODS: Stroke patients meeting the specified criteria were randomly assigned to one of four groups using a random number table: Control group, Daoyin group, lower limb robot group(LLR group), and Daoyin and lower limb robot group(DLLR group). Each group received distinct treatments based on conventional rehabilitation training.The treatment duration spanned two weeks with two days of rest per week. Pre-and post-intervention assessments included various scales: Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA),Berg balance scale(BBS), Barthel index(BI), Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14), Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA), and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD).RESULTS: Statistically significant differences were observed in the lower limb function measured by FAM between the Control group(15 ± 5) and the DLLR group(18 ± 5)(P = 0.049). In the Barthel index, a statistically significant difference was noted between the Control group(54 ± 18) and the DLLR group(64 ± 11)(P = 0.041).Additionally, significant differences were found in the Berg balance scale between the Control group(21 ± 10)and the DLLR group(27 ± 8)(P = 0.024), as well as between the Control group(21 ± 10) and the LLR group(26 ± 10)(P = 0.048).CONCLUSION: The findings of this study suggest that the combined use of Daoyin and robotics not only enhances motor function in stroke patients but also has a positive impact on fatigue, sleep quality, and mood. This approach may offer a more effective rehabilitation strategy for stroke patients.

Chiral organic-inorganic hybrid metal halides(OIHMHs)have attracted broader scientific community recently in spin lightemitting diodes,and circularly polarized light-emitting diodes.However,the emission peaks of the reported chiral OIHMHs mainly locate in the visible region,and chiral OIHMH with ultraviolet(UV)circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)has been rarely reported.To fill this gap,cerium,a unique rare-earth(RE)element with tunable luminescence from UV to the visible region owing to the 4 f-related electronic transition,was introduced to construct the first RE-based chiral OIHMHs,R/S-MCC.The chirality is successfully transferred from the chiral organic cations to the inorganic cerium chloride framework in R/S-MCC,as confirmed by the single crystal structures,circular dichroism,and CPL.The emission spectra of R/S-MCC are in the UV region,originating from the characteristic d-f transition of Ce^(3+),which making the Ce-based metal halides are ideal candidates towards CPL light sources in the UV region.Notably,R-and S-MCC are the first RE-based OIHMHs,also the first chiral metalhalides with UV CPL.Our work opens a new avenue for the development of the chiral OIHMH family towards RE-based chiral OIHMH.The RE-based chiral metal halides couple the unique and superior optical,electrical,magnetic,and spintronic properties of RE elements with chirality could accelerate the development of chiral optoelectronics and spintronics toward real applications.

β-Amyloid(Aβ)is a specific pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease(AD).Because of its neurotoxicity,AD patients exhibit multiple brain dysfunctions.Disease-modifying therapy(DMT)is the central concept in the development of AD thera-peutics today,and most DMT drugs that are currently in clinical trials are anti-Aβdrugs,such as aducanumab and lecanemab.Therefore,understanding Aβ's neurotoxic mechanism is crucial for Aβ-targeted drug development.Despite its total length of only a few dozen amino acids,Aβis incredibly diverse.In addition to the well-known Aβ_(1-42),N-terminally truncated,glutaminyl cyclase(QC)catalyzed,and pyroglutamate-modified Aβ(pEAβ)is also highly amyloidogenic and far more cytotoxic.The extracel-lular monomeric Aβ_(x-42)(x=1-11)initiates the aggregation to form fibrils and plaques and causes many abnormal cellular responses through cell membrane receptors and receptor-coupled signal pathways.These signal cascades further influence many cel-lular metabolism-related processes,such as gene expression,cell cycle,and cell fate,and ultimately cause severe neural cell damage.However,endogenous cellular anti-Aβdefense processes always accompany the Aβ-induced microenvironment alterations.Aβ-cleaving endopeptidases,Aβ-degrading ubiquitin-proteasome system(UPS),and Aβ-engulfing glial cell immune responses are all essential self-defense mechanisms that we can leverage to develop new drugs.This review discusses some of the most recent advances in understanding Aβ-centric AD mechanisms and suggests prospects for promising anti-Aβstrategies.
