Impact of climate change on the global circulation of West Nile virus and adaptation responses:a scoping review

Background West Nile virus(WNV),the most widely distributed flavivirus causing encephalitis globally,is a vector-borne pathogen of global *** changing climate is poised to reshape the landscape of various infectious diseases,particularly vector-borne ones like *** the anticipated geographical and range shifts in disease transmission due to climate change,alongside effective adaptation strategies,is critical for mitigating future public health *** scoping review aims to consolidate evidence on the impact of climate change on WNV and to identify a spectrum of applicable adaptation *** body We systematically analyzed research articles from PubMed,Web of Science,Scopus,and *** criteria included English-language research articles published between 2007 and 2023,focusing on the impacts of climate change on WNV and related adaptation *** extracted data concerning study objectives,populations,geographical focus,and specific *** was categorized into two primary themes:1)climate-WNV associations,and 2)climate change impacts on WNV transmission,providing a clear *** of 2168 articles reviewed,120 met our *** evidence originated from North America(59.2%)and Europe(28.3%),with a primary focus on human cases(31.7%).Studies on climate-WNV correlations(n=83)highlighted temperature(67.5%)as a pivotal climate *** the analysis of climate change impacts on WNV(n=37),most evidence suggested that climate change may affect the transmission and distribution of WNV,with the extent of the impact depending on local and regional *** few studies directly addressed the implementation of adaptation strategies for climate-induced disease transmission,the proposed strategies(n=49)fell into six categories:1)surveillance and monitoring(38.8%),2)predictive modeling(18.4%),3)cross-disciplinary collaboration(16.3%),4)environmental management(12.2%),5)public education(8.2%),and 6

Kinetic analysis of austenite transformation for B1500HS high-strength steel during continuous heating

Effect of probucol on autophagy and apoptosis in the penile tissue of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

Arthroscopy combined with unicondylar knee arthroplasty for treatment of isolated unicompartmental knee arthritis: A long-term comparison

BACKGROUND Knee osteoarthritis is the most prevalent form of osteoarthritis and is becoming the main reason for progressive pain in knee joints. Arthroscopy combined with unicondylar knee arthroplasty(UKA) is one of the effective methods for the treatment of severe unicompartmental knee arthritis. This surgical approach gives us the capacity to explore all the articular cavities and plays a vital role in UKA patient selection. However, some scholars think that the surgical procedure is traumatic and may increase the rate of surgical infection, and its clinical efficacy needs further *** To compare the clinical effect of arthroscopy combined with UKA and UKA alone for patients suffering from unicompartmental osteoarthritis(OA).METHODS A retrospective study was conducted on patients who were diagnosed with unicompartmental OA(Kellgren–Laurence grade ≥ III) and underwent UKA between October 2012 and November 2006. The patients were followed at 3, 6,and 12 mo and every 2 years thereafter. During each follow-up, the radiographic materials, the range of motion of knee and hospital for special surgery(HSS)score, knee society score and knee function score as recorded, and the modes and time of failure and revision details were collected as *** Data on 104 patients(118 knees), including 54 patients(60 knees) in the arthroscopy combined with UKA group(group A) and 51(58 knees) in UKA alone group(group B) were collected during an average follow-up duration of 7.25 years, excluding the cases who were lost to follow-up. At the final follow-up,3(5.0%) of 60 knees in group A compared with 4(6.9%) of 58 knees in group B failed and converted to total knee arthroplasty, with no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P = 0.933). Impact of Annealing on the Melt Recrystallization of a-PDLA/α-PLLA Double-layered Films

Poly(lactic acid)(PLA) as a bio-based polymer with biodegradability and biocompatibility has attracted much attention. To manipulate its properties for different applications, regulation of crystal structure and crystalline morphology becomes an attractive research topic. In this work, the structure evolution of layered samples containing an amorphous poly(D-lactide)(PDLA) layer and a crystalline poly(L-lactide)(PLLA)layer with highly oriented edge-on α lamellar crystals after annealing at 150 ℃ or/and after melt-recrystallization has been studied by AFM, FTIR,and TEM combined with electron diffraction. The results demonstrate that melt recrystallization of the as-prepared sample leads to the formation of abundant randomly oriented PLA stereo-complex(PLA SC) crystals. Annealing at 150 ℃ results in the formation of a small amount of oriented PLA SC crystals at the interface. These PLA SC crystals show great impact on the recrystallization behavior of sample after melting at 190 ℃ and then crystallizing at 90 ℃. First, they impede the mutual diffusion of the overlying PDLA and underlying PLLA, and thus reduce their stereocomplexation ability as manifested by the decreased amount of PLA SC crystals. Second, they act as substrate to initiate the epitaxial crystallization of the overlying PDLA and underlying PLLA, which ensures the production of a highly oriented structure of PDLA and PLLA after melt recrystallization again.

Mesocorticolimbic dopaminergic(DA) neurons have been implicated in regulating nociception in chronic pain, yet the mechanisms are barely understood. Here, we found that chronic constructive injury(CCI) in mice increased the firing activity and decreased the KCNQ channel-mediated M-currents in ventral tegmental area(VTA) DA neurons projecting to the nucleus accumbens(NAc). Chemogenetic inhibition of the VTA-to-NAc DA neurons alleviated CCI-induced thermal *** changes in the firing activity and M-currents were recorded in VTA DA neurons projecting to the medial prefrontal cortex(mPFC) but did not affect nociception. In addition, intra-VTA injection of retigabine, a KCNQ opener, while reversing the changes of the VTA-to-NAc DA neurons, alleviated CCI-induced nociception, and this was abolished by injecting exogenous BDNF into the *** together, these findings highlight a vital role of KCNQ channel-mediated modulation of mesolimbic DA activity in regulating thermal nociception in the chronic pain state.

Single-particle spectroscopies of p-wave and d-wave interacting Bose gases in normal phase

Motivated by experiments with interacting quantum gases across high partial wave resonance,we investigate the thermodynamic properties and single-particle spectra of Bose gases in normal phase for different interaction strengths for both p-and d-wave *** equation of state,contact density,momentum distributions and self-energies of single-particle Green’s functions are obtained in the spirit of ladder diagram *** radio-frequency(RF)spectrum,as an important experimental approach for detecting Feshbach molecules or the interaction effect,is calculated at different temperatures.A reversed temperature dependence on the Bose–Einstein condensation side and Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer side is identified for both p-and d-wave *** estimate for the signal of RF spectra under typical experimental conditions is also provided.

Enhancing thermoelectric performance of p-type SnTe through manipulating energy band structures and decreasing electronic thermal conductivity

SnTe has received considerable attention as an environmentally friendly alternative to the representative thermoelectric material of ***,excessive hole carrier concentration in SnTe results in an extremely low Seebeck coefficient and high thermal conductivity,which makes it exhibit relatively inferior thermoelectric *** this work,the thermoelectric performance of p-type SnTe is enhanced through regulating its energy band structures and reducing its electronic thermal conductivity by combining Bi doping with CdSe ***,the carrier concentration of SnTe is successfully suppressed via Bi doping,which significantly decreases the electronic thermal ***,the convergence and flattening of the valence bands by alloying CdSe effectively improves the effective mass of SnTe while restraining its carrier ***,a maximum figure of merit(ZT) of~ 0.87 at 823 K and an average ZT of~ 0.51 at 300-823 K have been achieved in Sn_(0.96)Bi_(0.04)Te-5%*** results indicate that decreasing the electronic thermal conductivity is an effective means of improving the performance of thermoelectric materials with a high carrier concentration.
