Osteoarthritis(OA)is a degenerative disease characterized by matrix degradation and cell death leading to a gradual loss of articular cartilage *** a bacterial synthesis of quinine,pyrroloquinoline quinone(PQQ)is a strong redox cofactor with a variety of biological benefits,including antioxidant,anti-inflammation-induced mitochondrial metabolism *** study was designed to investigate the effect of PQQ on TNF-α-induced mitochondrial damage in *** isolated from C57BL/6 mice were exposed to TNF-α50 ng/mL,TNF-α50 ng/mL+PQQ 10µmol/L for 24 ***,morphological study,functional study and mechanism study were *** results revealed TNF-α-induced chondrocyte mitochondrion damage could be reduced by application of PQQ,evidenced by elevated number of mitochondria,well-kept mtDNA integrity,preserved ATP level,reestablished mitochondrial membrane potential,and prevented mitochondrial *** present work strongly suggests that the mitochondrion is an important target for OA chondrocyte damage induced by TNF-αand the PQQ protection from this damage ameliorates mitochondrial dysfunction induced by TNF-α.PQQ might be a potential chemical for OA intervention.

Deep-sea mining activities can potentially release metals,which pose a toxicological threat to deep-sea ***,due to the remoteness and inaccessibility of the deep-sea biosphere,there is insufficient knowledge about the impact of metal exposure on its *** this study,deep-sea mussel Gigantidas platifrons,a commonly used deep-sea toxicology model organism,was exposed to manganese(100,1000μg/L)or iron(500,5000μg/L)for 7 d,*** and iron were chosen for their high levels of occurrence within deep-sea *** accumulation and a battery of biochemical biomarkers related to antioxidative stress in superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),malondialdehyde(MDA);immune function in alkaline phosphatase(AKP),acid phosphatase(ACP);and energy metabolism in pyruvate kinase(PK)and hexokinase(HK)were assessed in mussel *** showed that deep-sea mussel *** exhibited a high capacity to accumulate Mn/*** addition,most tested biochemical parameters were altered by metal exposure,demonstrating that metals could induce oxidative stress,suppress the immune system,and affect energy metabolism of deep-sea *** integrated biomarker response(IBR)approach indicated that the exposure to Mn/Fe had a negative impact on deep-sea mussels,and Mn demonstrated a more harmful impact on deep-sea mussels than ***,SOD and CAT biomarkers had the greatest impact on IBR values in Mn treatments,while ACP and HK were most influential for the low-and high-dose Fe groups,*** study represents the first application of the IBR approach to evaluate the toxicity of metals on deep-sea fauna and serves as a crucial framework for risk assessment of deep-sea mining-associated metal exposure.

An efficient approach is proposed for the equivalent linearization of frame structures with plastic hinges under nonstationary seismic *** concentrated plastic hinges,described by the Bouc-Wen model,are assumed to occur at the two ends of a linear-elastic beam *** auxiliary differential equations governing the plastic rotational displacements and their corresponding hysteretic displacements are replaced with linearized differential ***,the two sets of equations of motion for the original nonlinear system can be reduced to an expanded-order equivalent linearized equation of motion for equivalent linear *** solve the equation of motion for equivalent linear systems,the nonstationary random vibration analysis is carried out based on the explicit time-domain method with high ***,the proposed treatment method for initial values of equivalent parameters is investigated in conjunction with parallel computing technology,which provides a new way of obtaining the equivalent linear systems at different time *** on the explicit time-domain method,the key responses of interest of the converged equivalent linear system can be calculated through dimension reduction analysis with high *** examples indicate that the proposed approach has high computational efficiency,and shows good applicability to weak nonlinear and medium-intensity nonlinear systems.

High incidence of patellofemoral pain and patellofemoral joint osteoarthritis was found following anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)*** unstability of patellofemoral joint might be an important contribution *** study was designed to define the relationship between the unstability of patellofemoral joint and quadriceps femoris *** patients underwent MRI scan before ACL reconstruction and every two weeks after surgery,until 12 *** merchant’s patellar congruence angle,lateral inclination angle,and quadriceps femoris muscle cross-sectional area were measured and the relationship between the changes of angles and the ratio of quadriceps femoris atrophy was studied by multiple regression *** quadriceps femoris atrophy was observed after ACL reconstruction during the follow-up period of 12 *** merchant’s patellar congruence angle and lateral inclination angle significantly changed after *** alterations of the merchant’s patellar congruence angle were significantly correlated with the atrophy ratio of vastus medialis(coefficient=-5.76)and vastus lateralis(coefficient=8.35)during the follow-up period of 12 *** alterations of lateral inclination angle were significantly correlated with the atrophy ratio of vastus medialis(coefficient=20.62),vastus lateralis(coefficient=-11.38)and rectus femoris(coefficient=-0.469)during the follow-up period 12 *** sum up,ACL reconstruction can alleviate the dysfunction of patellofemoral joint to a certain ***,the unbalanced atrophy of quadriceps femoris once again destroyed the stability of patellofemoral joint following the operation,which might be one cause of patellofemoral joint pain and early onset of osteoarthritis after ACL ***,rehabilitation training that focuses on quadriceps femoris especially the vastus medialis shortly following operation is suggested.

Pogostemon cablin essential oil (PEO), extracted from P. cablin, has anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-stress properties, as well as the ability to improve gastrointestinal digestion. This study aims to evaluate the effects of PEO on the performance, rumen epithelial morphology, and barrier function in heat-stressed beef cattle. Thirty-six male Jingjiang cattle at 18 months old were randomly assigned into four groups and fed a diet containing PEO at 0 (control), 50, 100, or 150 mg/kg in the feed concentrate (n 1/4 9). All experimental cattle were fed under high temperature and humidity in summer for 60 days. The results indicated that 50 mg/kg of PEO treatment enhanced the average daily gain of beef cattle compared with the control group (P 1/4 0.032). All PEO treatments reduced the diamine oxidase activity (P 1/4 0.004) and malondialdehyde content (P 1/4 0.008) in serum. In addition, the content of 70 kDa heat shock protein in the 100 mg/kg group was increased, and the activity of glutathione peroxidase and total antioxidant capacity in both 100 mg/kg and 150 mg/kg groups were enhanced compared to the control group (P lia but decreased the mRNA relative expressions of c-Jun N-terminal kinase, P38 mitogen-activated protein kinases, caspase-3, Beclin1 (P lined the mRNA relative expressions of extracellular regulated protein kinases and ubiquitin-binding protein in contrast to the control group (P lium of heat-stressed cattle by down-regulating the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway. Fog computing can deliver low delay and advanced IT services to end users with substantially reduced energy ***,with soaring demands for resource service and the limited capability of fog nodes,how to allocate and manage fog computing resources properly and stably has become the ***,the paper investigates the utility optimization-based resource allocation problem between fog nodes and end users in fog *** authors first introduce four types of utility functions due to the diverse tasks executed by end users and build the resource allocation model aiming at utility ***,for only the elastic tasks,the convex optimization method is applied to obtain the optimal results;for the elastic and inelastic tasks,with the assistance of Jensen’s inequality,the primal non-convex model is approximated to a sequence of equivalent convex optimization problems using successive approximation ***,a two-layer algorithm is proposed that globally converges to an optimal solution of the original ***,numerical simulation results demonstrate its superior performance and *** with other works,the authors emphasize the analysis for non-convex optimization problems and the diversity of tasks in fog computing resource allocation.

Different from oil and gas production,hydrate reservoirs are shallow and unconsolidated,whose mechanical properties deteriorate with hydrate ***,the formations will undergo significant subsidence during depressurization,which will destroy the original force state of the production ***,existing research on the stability of oil and gas production wells assumes the formation to be stable,and lacks consideration of the force exerted on the hydrate production well by formation subsidence caused by hydrate decomposition during *** fill this gap,this paper proposes an analytical method for the dynamic evolution of the stability of hydrate production well considering the effects of hydrate *** on the mechanical model of the production well,the basis for stability analysis has been proposed.A multi-field coupling model of the force state of the production well considering the effect of hydrate decomposition and formation subsidence is established,and a solver is *** analytical approach is verified by its good agreement with the results from the numerical method.A case study found that the decomposition of hydrate will increase the pulling-down force and reduce the supporting force,which is the main reason for the stability *** higher the initial hydrate saturation,the larger the reservoir thickness,and the lower the production pressure,the worse the stability or even *** work can provide a theoretical reference for the stability maintaining of the production well.
