BACKGROUND Chronic schistosomiasis causes multiple organ and multiple system diseases,especially the digestive *** eggs are mainly deposited in the stomach,liver and colorectal,but a few eggs are deposited in the appendix and cause *** present,there are few studies on schistosomal *** To explore the differences in epidemiological,clinical and pathological characteristics between schistosomal appendicitis and non-schistosomal appendicitis over the past decade in order to assess the impact of schistosomiasis on *** The differences of general data,clinical data and laboratory examination data of patients with appendicitis from October 2013 to October 2023 were retrospectively *** patients were divided into two groups for *** were 136 patients in schistosomal appendicitis group and 5418 patients in non-schistosomal appendicitis *** Schistosomal appendicitis accounted for 2.45%of all patients with appendicitis,and the annual proportion in the past decade was 2.2%,2.9%,1.8%,1.9%,3.4%,3.1%,1.9%,1.6%,3%,2.6%,*** prevalence of schistosomal appendicitis was middle-aged and elderly males,with an average age of 61.73±15.335 *** main population of non-schistosomal appendicitis was middle-aged men,with an average age of 35.8±24.013 years(P<0.001).The distribution of pathological types of appendicitis was different between the two groups(P<0.001).The incidence of acute suppurative appendicitis in non-schistosomal appendicitis was higher than that in schistosomal appendicitis[odds ratio(OR)=0.504;95%confidence interval(CI):0.349-0.728;P<0.001].The proportion of acute attack of chronic appendicitis in schistosomal appendicitis was higher than that in non-schistosomal appendicitis(OR=2.614;95%CI:1.815-3.763;P<0.001).The proportion of schistosomal appendicitis patients complicated with colorectal cancer was higher than that of nonschistosomal appendicitis patients(OR=5.087;95%CI:1.427-

For networking of big data applications,an essential issue is how to represent networks in vector space for further mining and analysis tasks,e.g.,node classification,clustering,link prediction,and *** existing studies on this subject mainly concentrate on monoplex networks considering a single type of relation among ***,numerous real-world networks are naturally composed of multiple layers with different relation types;such a network is called a multiplex *** majority of existing multiplex network embedding methods either overlook node attributes,resort to node labels for training,or underutilize underlying information shared across multiple *** this paper,we propose Multiplex Network Infomax(MNI),an unsupervised embedding framework to represent information of multiple layers into a unified embedding *** be more specific,we aim to maximize the mutual information between the unified embedding and node embeddings of each *** the basis of this framework,we present an unsupervised network embedding method for attributed multiplex *** results show that our method achieves competitive performance on not only node-related tasks,such as node classification,clustering,and similarity search,but also a typical edge-related task,i.e.,link prediction,at times even outperforming relevant supervised methods,despite that MNI is fully unsupervised.

Graphene oxide(GO)is regarded as a promising candidate to construct solar absorbers for addressing freshwater crisis,but the easy delamination of GO in water poses a critical challenge for practical solar ***,we improve the stability of GO membranes by a self-crosslinking poly(ionic liquid)(PIL)in a mild condition,which crosslinks neighbouring GO nanosheets without blemishing the hydrophilic structure of *** further adding carbon nanotubes(CNTs),the sandwiched GO/CNT@PIL(GCP)membrane displays a good stability in pH=1 or 13 solution even for 270 *** molecular dynamics simulation results indicate that the generation of water nanofluidics in nanochannels of GO nanosheets remarkably reduces the water evaporation enthalpy in GCP membrane,compared to bulk ***,the GCP membrane exhibits a high evaporation rate(1.87 kg m^(-2)h^(-1))and displays stable evaporation rates for 14 h under 1 kW m^(-2)*** GCP membrane additionally works very well when using different water sources(e.g.,dye-polluted water)or even strong acidic solution(pH=1)or basic solution(pH=13).More importantly,through bundling pluralities of GCP membrane,an efficient solar desalination device is developed to produce drinkable water from *** average daily drinkable water amount in sunny day is 10.1 kg m^(-2),which meets with the daily drinkable water needs of five *** high evaporation rate,long-time durability and good scalability make the GCP membrane an outstanding candidate for practical solar seawater desalination.

Background:Insomnia is a prevalent clinical condition and Shangxia Liangji formula(SXLJF)is a well-established method of ***,the specific mechanism of action of SXLJF remains ***:The mouse model of insomnia was established by intraperitoneal injection of ***-two mice were randomly divided into a negative control group,model group,SXLJF group(18.72 g/kg/day),and positive control group(diazepam,2 mg/kg)and treated with the corresponding drugs for 7 consecutive *** open field test and pentobarbital-induced sleeping test were ***-MS-based untargeted metabolomics and network pharmacology were applied to explore the potential targets of SXLJF for treating ***,key targets were validated using ***:Behavioral tests demonstrated that SXLJF reduced the total distance,average velocity,central distance,and sleep latency,and prolonged sleep *** and network pharmacology revealed potential targets,signaling pathways,metabolic pathways,and metabolites associated with the anti-insomnia effects of ***,tyrosine hydroxylase(TH)and tyrosine metabolism emerged as crucial metabolic pathways and targets,***-qPCR results supported the role of TH in the mechanism of SXLJF in treating ***:In conclusion,TH and tyrosine metabolism may represent significant targets and pathways for SXLJF in treating insomnia.

A spectrometer for measuring particle size distributions in the range of 3 nm to 10 μm

A spectrometer combining electrical mobility sizing and aerodynamic sizing was developed to measure aerosol size distributions in the range of 3 nm to 10 μm. It includes three instruments which cover different size ranges （a nano scanning mobility particle sizer （NSMPS, 3 - 60 nm）, a regular scanning mobility particle sizer （RSMPS, 40 - 700nm）, and an aerodynamic particle sizer （APS, 550nm- 10 μm））. High voltage and sheath flow of the NSMPS and RSMPS were supplied using two home-built control boxes. A LabVIEW program was developed for spectrometer automatic operation. A linear inversion method was applied to correct particle multiple charging effects and to integrate data from the three instruments into a wide-range size distribution. Experi- ments were conducted to compare distributions in the overlap size ranges measured by three instruments. Good agreement between the NSMPS and RSMPS was achieved after correcting for the difference in counting efficiencies of the two particle counters. Aerodynamic size distribu- tions reported by the APS were converted to mobility size distributions by applying an effective density method. Distributions measured by the RSMPS and APS were consistent in the overlap size range of 550 - 700 nm. A full spectrum in the size range of 3nm to 10~tm was demonstrated by measuring aerosol generated using a mixture of different sized polystyrene latex spheres.

Graphene nanoribbons(GNRs)have attracted great research interest because of their widely tunable and unique electronic *** required atomic precision of GNRs can be realized via on-surface synthesis *** this work,through a surface assisted reaction we have longitudinally fused the pyrene-based graphene nanoribbons(pGNR)of different lengths by a pentagon ring junction,and built a molecular junction structure on Au(111).The electronic properties of the structure are studied by scanning tunneling spectroscopy(STS)combined with tight binding(TB)*** pentagon ring junction shows a weak electronic coupling effect on graphene nanoribbons,which makes the electronic properties of the two different graphene nanoribbons connected by a pentagon ring junction analogous to type I semiconductor heterojunctions.

Developing single-crystalline Ni-rich cathodes is an effective strategy to improve the safety and cycle life of Li-ion batteries(LIBs).However,the easy-to-loss of Li and O in high-temperature lithiation results in unsatisfactory ordered layered structure and ***,we demonstrate the synthesis of highly-ordered and fully-stoichiometric single-crystalline LiNi_(0.83)Co_(0.12)Mn_(0.05)O_(2)(SC-NCM83)cathodes by the regulation of pre-lithiation *** well-balanced pre-lithiation kinetics have been proved to greatly improve the proportion of layered phase in the intermediate by inhibiting the formation of metastable spinel phase,which promoted the rapid transformation of the intermediate into highly-ordered layered SC-NCM83 in the subsequent lithiation *** coating a layer of Li_(2)O–B_(2)O_(3),the resultant cathodes deliver superior cycling stability with 90.9%capacity retention at 1C after 300 cycles in pouch-type full *** enhancement mechanism has also been *** findings exhibit fundamental insights into the pre-lithiation kinetics process for guiding the synthesis of high-quality singlecrystalline Ni-rich cathodes.
