With the evolution of video surveillance systems,the requirement of video storage grows rapidly;in addition,safe guards and forensic officers spend a great deal of time observing surveillance videos to find abnormal *** most of the scene in the surveillance video are redundant and contains no information needs attention,we propose a video condensation method to summarize the abnormal events in the video by rearranging the moving trajectory and sort them by the degree of *** goal is to improve the condensation rate to reduce more storage size,and increase the accuracy in abnormal *** the trajectory feature is the key to both goals,in this paper,a new method for feature extraction of moving object trajectory is proposed,and we use the SOINN(Self-Organizing Incremental Neural Network)method to accomplish a high accuracy abnormal *** the results,our method is able to shirk the video size to 10%storage size of the original video,and achieves 95%accuracy of abnormal event detection,which shows our method is useful and applicable to the surveillance industry.

Manufacturing of Porous Alumina Ceramic by Gel Casting

Various quantities of non-toxic monomer (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, HEMA) was added to form porous alumina ceramic by gel casting process. Pure water, monomer, cross-linker (N, N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide (MBAm)), and dispersant (ammonium salt of poly (methacrylic acid), PAS) were combined to form an aqueous solution, which added alumina powder and was milled to form alumina slurry with zirconia balls for 240 minutes. An initiator (ammonium persulfate, APS) was added to the alumina slurry with a vacuum mixing system and formed in an inverted metal mold. After heat treatment, curing, stripping and drying, the alumina green body was sintered at 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500 and 1600 ℃ for 1 h. The original alumina powder and sintered porous alumina ceramic materials were analyzed for particle size, viscosity, TGA/DTA, sintering density, porosity, SEM, XRD and bending strength. The results show that the porous alumina ceramic can be prepared with porosity of 12-48 wt% and bending strength of 17-153 MPa at various monomer content of 5-25 wt% and sintering temperatures of 1200-1500 ℃.

Fundamental experiments were carried out in a wave flume on internal solitary wave （ISW） of depression-type propagating over a submerged ridge. The seabed ridge included either triangular or semicircular shape - regarded as topographic obstacles. Influenced by the submarine ridge, the transmitted waves were found to always consist of a leading pulse （a solitary wave） followed by a dispersive wave train. The wave profile propagating over a triangular ridge was similar to that caused by a semicircular obstacle. Apparently, the smooth face of a semicircular ridge produced time lag of wave propagation. From experimental results available, the reduction in wave energy induced by a semicircular ridge was larger than that by a triangular one. The events of wave distortion, strong breaking, internal bolus, and stratification mixing happened in case that the crest of an ISW was great enough to interact with the topographic obstacle. The reduction in wave energy was induced by strong breaking, and it depended on the ridge height rather than the geometric shape of the ridge.

Accuracy Evaluation of A Diagnostic Test by Detecting Outliers and Influential Observations

Logit regression analysis is widely applied in scientific studies and laboratory experiments, where skewed observations on a data set are often encountered. A number of problems with this method, for example, oudiers and influential observations, can cause overdispersion when a model is fitted. In this study a systematic statistical approach, including the plotting of several indices is used to diagnose the lack-of-fit of a logistic regression model. The outliers and influential observations on data from laboratory experiments are then detected. Specifically we take account of the interaction of an internal sohtary wave （ISW） with an obstacle, i.e., an underwater ridge, and also analyze the effects of the ridge height, the lower layer water depth, and the potential energy on the amplitude-based transmission rate of the ISW. As concluded, the goodness-of-fit of the revised logit regression model is better than that of the model without this approach.

Evaluation of Inference Adequacy in Cumulative Logistic Regression Models:An Empirical Validation of ISW-Ridge Relationships

Internal solitary wave propagation over a submarine ridge results in energy dissipation, in which the hydrodynamic interaction between a wave and ridge affects marine environment. This study analyzes the effects of ridge height and potential energy during wave-ridge interaction with a binary and cumulative logistic regression model. In testing the Global Null Hypothesis, all values are p 〈0.001, with three statistical methods, such as Likelihood Ratio, Score, and Wald. While comparing with two kinds of models, tests values obtained by cumulative logistic regression models are better than those by binary logistic regression models. Although this study employed cumulative logistic regression model, three probability functions p^1, p^2 and p^3, are utilized for investigating the weighted influence of factors on wave reflection. Deviance and Pearson tests are applied to cheek the goodness-of-fit of the proposed model. The analytical results demonstrated that both ridge height （X1 ） and potential energy （X2 ） significantly impact （p 〈 0. 0001 ） the amplitude-based refleeted rate; the P-values for the deviance and Pearson are all 〉 0.05 （0.2839, 0.3438, respectively）. That is, the goodness-of-fit between ridge height （ X1 ） and potential energy （X2） can further predict parameters under the scenario of the best parsimonious model. Investigation of 6 predictive powers （ R2, Max-rescaled R^2, Sorners＇ D, Gamma, Tau-a, and c, respectively） indicate that these predictive estimates of the proposed model have better predictive ability than ridge height alone, and are very similar to the interaction of ridge height and potential energy. It can be concluded that the goodness-of-fit and prediction ability of the cumulative logistic regression model are better than that of the binary logistic regression model.

Update on a tumor-associated NADH oxidase in gastric cancer cell growth

Gastric cancer is one of the most common human malignancies, and its prevalence has been shown to be well-correlated with cancer-related deaths worldwide. Regrettably, the poor prognosis of this disease is mainly due to its late diagnosis at advanced stages after the cancer has already metastasized. Recent research has emphasized the identification of cancer biomarkers in the hope of diagnosing cancer early and designing targeted therapies to reverse cancer progression. One member of a family of growth-related nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH or hydroquinone) oxidases is tumor-associated NADH oxidase(t NOX; enOX2). Unlike its counterpart CNOX(enOX1), identified in normal rat liver plasma membranes and shown to be stimulated by growth factors and hormones, t NOX activity purified from rat hepatoma cells is constitutively active. Its activity is detectable in the sera of cancer patients but not in those of healthy volunteers, suggesting its clinical relevance. Interestingly, t NOX expression was shown to be present in an array of cancer cell lines. More importantly, inhibition of t NOX was well correlated with reduced cancer cell growth and induction of apoptosis. RNA interference targeting t NOX expression in cancer cells effectively restored non-cancerous phenotypes, further supporting the vital role of t NOX in cancer cells. Here, we review the regulatory role of t NOX in gastric cancer cell growth.
