BACKGROUND Early screening and accurate staging of diabetic retinopathy(DR)can reduce blindness risk in type 2 diabetes patients.DR’s complex pathogenesis involves many factors,making ophthalmologist screening alone insufficient for prevention and treatment.Often,endocrinologists are the first to see diabetic patients and thus should screen for retinopathy for early intervention.AIM To explore the efficacy of non-mydriatic fundus photography(NMFP)-enhanced telemedicine in assessing DR and its various stages.METHODS This retrospective study incorporated findings from an analysis of 93 diabetic patients,examining both NMFP-assisted telemedicine and fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA).It focused on assessing the concordance in DR detection between these two methodologies.Additionally,receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were generated to determine the optimal sensitivity and specificity of NMFP-assisted telemedicine,using FFA outcomes as the standard benchmark.RESULTS In the context of DR diagnosis and staging,the kappa coefficients for NMFPassisted telemedicine and FFA were recorded at 0.775 and 0.689 respectively,indicating substantial intermethod agreement.Moreover,the NMFP-assisted telemedicine’s predictive accuracy for positive FFA outcomes,as denoted by the area under the ROC curve,was remarkably high at 0.955,within a confidence interval of 0.914 to 0.995 and a statistically significant P-value of less than 0.001.This predictive model exhibited a specificity of 100%,a sensitivity of 90.9%,and a Youden index of 0.909.CONCLUSION NMFP-assisted telemedicine represents a pragmatic,objective,and precise modality for fundus examination,particularly applicable in the context of endocrinology inpatient care and primary healthcare settings for diabetic patients.Its implementation in these scenarios is of paramount significance,enhancing the clinical accuracy in the diagnosis and therapeutic management of DR.This methodology not only streamlines patient evaluation but also contributes substantially to the optimi

We use the redshift Hubble parameter H（z） data derived from relative galaxy ages, distant type Ia supernovae （SNe Ia）, the Baryonic Acoustic Oscillation （BAO） peak, and the Cosmic Microwave Background （CMB） shift parameter data, to constrain cosmological parameters in the Undulant Universe. We marginalize the like- lihood functions over h by integrating the probability density 19 ∝ e-x^2/2. By using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo （MCMC） technique, we obtain the best fitting results and give the confidence regions in the b - Ωm0 plane. Then we compare their constraints. Our results show that the H（z） data play a similar role with the SNe Ia data in cosmological study. By presenting the independent and joint constraints, we find that the BAO and CMB data play very important roles in breaking the degeneracy compared with the H（z） and SNe Ia data alone. Combined with the BAO or CMB data, one can remarkably improve the constraints. The SNe Ia data sets constrain Ωm0 much tighter than the H（z） data sets, but the H（z） data sets constrain b much tighter than the SNe Ia data sets. All these results show that the Undulant Universe approaches the ACDM model. We expect more H（z） data to constrain cosmological parameters in the future.

Aiming at fault feature extraction of thin-walled flexible bearing,a fault diagnosis method based on Variational Mode Decomposition（VMD） and Multipoint Optimal Minimum Entropy Deconvolution Adjusted（MOMEDA） is proposed.Firstly,the number of VMD layers is determined according to the correlation coefficient,and the kurtosis of each intrinsic mode functions（IMF） is calculated.The IMF component with the largest kurtosis is selected as the best component according to the kurtosis maximum criterion.Then the multipoint kurtosis of the best component is calculated to determine the optimal fault period and the MOMEDA is carried out.Finally,do the envelope spectrum analysis.By analyzing the fault signals of the outer and inner rings of flexible thin-walled bearings,it shows that this method can extract the fault feature frequency of flexible thin-walled bearings accurately and effectively.At the same time,this method is compared with the method based on VMD and MED（Minimum Entropy Deconvolution）,and the results show that the method proposed in this paper not only has a strong noise reduction effect,but also can extract the fault feature frequency more accurately.

In order to track the specific pedestrian targets in public places, a universal pedestrian tracking algorithm based on improved RANSAC and KCF（Kernel Correlation Filter） was proposed. First, the improved RANSAC algorithm is used to match the SURF descriptor, the surveillance video of the target is automatically identified and the location of the target is marked. Second, the KCF classifier and the foreground-background model based on the color feature are trained respectively to obtain the target confidence map through feature fusion, which are used to predict the location of the next frame of the target. Third, the improved algorithm and the original KCF were tracked on several public data sets respectively, the results show that accuracy of the improved algorithm is higher than the original one. Finally, the target tracking experiments of different public places are carried out, and the versatility of the proposed algorithm are verified.

Robust Visual Tracker via Cascade Classifying

A Facile and Environment-friendly Method for Fabrication of Polymer Brush

Since the similar background interference and target occlusion, the result of many visual trackers occurred deviation and even lost the target. In this paper, we proposed a robust visual tracker combing with the results of object tracking and target identification to make our algorithm more robust. To do this, we use the cascade classifier to improve the performance of target identification algorithm, then adjust the consequence of object tracking algorithm which based on particle filter. Experiment results show that our method tracks target fast and robustly, and outperform the state-of-the-art tracking methods.

A novel environment-friendly system is proposed to fabricate polymer brush, which has the advantages including non-toxic and inexpensive initiator （eosin Y）, visible-light exposure （λ = 515 nm）, water medium and ambient environment. The experimental results from UV-Vis spectroscopy, AFM-based single molecule force spectroscopy （SMFS） and other measurements indicate that a polymer brush with a living nature is fabricated via free radical polymerization. This polymer brush may find applications in coatings, bio-interfaces and so forth.

To investigate the seasonal adaptation strategies of Ophraella communa to new habitats, the effects and regulation mechanisms of photoperiod and temperature on the reproductive diapause in a population collected from Changsha, Hunan were examined. Adults showed obvious reproductive diapause, which was regulated by photoperiod and temperature. At 30~C, there was no adult diapause occurring under either long-day or short-day conditions; at 25~C the pre-oviposition period was short and fecundity was high in adult females under L ： D 16 ： 8 h, whereas under L ： D 12 ： 12 h, a few females entered reproductive diapause; at 20~C under short-day conditions, all female adults entered diapause. The pre-oviposition period was significantly prolonged when the pupae and adults were transferred from long-days to short-days, but the day length influence was not obvious when they were transferred only in the adult stage. However, the fecundity dropped greatly no matter whether the photoperiod shifted to short-days only in the adult stage or whether the shift occurred in both the pupal and adult stage. The fecundity was extremely low when photoperiod shifted from long-days to short-days in both pupal and adult stages. This was an indication that the pupal and adult stages were the photoperiod-sensitive stage for adult reproductive diapause. This was especially true for the photoperiod in the pupal stage, which has a distinctly significant regulative effect on reproductive diapause. Additionally, this article also addresses the reason for different photoperiodic response patterns in reproductive diapause induction between the Changsha strain and the Tsukuba strain （Japan） of O. communa.

Correlating dynamic structural transformation of catalysts with the surface intermediate species under operating conditions is critical for updating the understanding of structure–performance relationships.Here,we probe the electrochemical potentialdependent surface structures and adsorbed intermediates on PtRu binary alloy nanocatalysts to revisit its synergistic mechanisms for CO electrooxidation enhanced activity.In-situ spectral characteristics by using modified shell-isolated nanoparticle-enhanced Raman spectroscopy,show that in acidic solution,when the potential is positively scanned from 0.1 V to 1.5 V relative to reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE),the surface of the alloy catalyst evolves from metallic PtRu to adsorbed oxygen gradually covering and accumulating on Ru sites(denoted as PtRuO_(x),x≤2),forming segregated RuO_(2),and finally forming a threedimensional oxide layer(denoted as 3D PtRuO_(4)).Moreover,molecular evidence associated with periodic density functional theory calculations reveals that electronic effects promote ruthenium to become more oxidizable and oxophilic.In particular,we found here that*O and*OH at surface RuOxsites are highly efficient CO oxidation active species in comparison to the same entities adsorbed on metallic Ru sites.This work sheds light on the complex surface dynamic process of practical Pt-based binary nanocatalysts and improves the understanding of synergistic mechanism for the development of fuel cell devices.

Accurate detection of uric acid(UA)is crucial for diagnosing gout,yet traditional sweat-based UA sensors continue to face challenges posed by complex and costly electrode fabrication methods,as well as weakly hydrophilic substrates.Here,we designed and developed simple,low-cost,and hydrophilic sweat UA detection sensors constructed by carbon electrodes and cellulose paper substrates.The carbon electrodes were made by carbonized polyimide films through a simple,one-step laser engraving method.Our electrodes are porous,possess a large specific surface area,and are flexible and conductive.The substrates were composed of highly hydrophilic cellulose paper that can effectively collect,store,and transport sweat.The constructed electrodes demonstrate high sensitivity of 0.4μA Lμmol^(-1)cm^(-2),wide linear range of 2–100μmol/L.In addition,our electrodes demonstrate high selectivity,excellent reproducibility,high flexibility,and outstanding stability against mechanical bending,temperature variations,and extended storage periods.Furthermore,our sensors have been proven to provide reliable results when detecting UA levels in real sweat and on real human skin.We envision that these sensors hold enormous potential for use in the prognosis,diagnosis,and treatment of gout.
