Surface roughness classification using light scattering matrix and deep learning

High-quality optical components have been widely used in various applications;thus,extremely high beam quality is required.Moreover,surface roughness is a key indicator of the surface quality.In this study,the angular distribution of light scattering field intensity was obtained for surfaces having different roughness profiles based on the finite difference time domain(FDTD)method,and the results were compared with those obtained using the generalized Harvey-Shack(GHS)theory.It was shown that the FDTD approach can be used for an accurate simulation of the scattered field of a rough surface,and the superposition of results obtained from many surfaces that have the same roughness level was in good agreement with the result given by the analytic GHS model.A light scattering matrix(LSM)method was proposed based on the FDTD simulation results that could obtain rich surface roughness information.The classification effect of LSM was compared with that of the single-incidence scattering distribution(SISD)based on a ResNet-50 deep learning network.The classification accuracy of the model trained with the LSM dataset was obtained as 95.74%,which was 23.40%higher than that trained using the SISD dataset.Moreover,the effects of different noise types and filtering methods on the classification performance were analyzed,and the LSM was also shown to improve the robustness and generalizability of the trained surface roughness classifier.Overall,the proposed LSM method has important implications for improving the data acquisition scheme of current light scattering measurement systems,and it also has the potential to be used for detection and characterization of surface defects of optical components.

In recent years,remarkable breakthroughs have been reported on antibody-drug conjugates(ADCs),with 15 ADCs successfully entering the market over the past decade.This substantial development has positioned ADCs as one of the fastest-growing domains in the realm of anticancer drugs,demonstrating their efficacy in treating awide array of malignancies.Nonetheless,there is still an unmet clin-ical need forwider application,better efficacy,and fewer side effects of ADCs.An ADC generally comprises an antibody,a linker and a payload,and the combina-tion has profound effects on drug structure,pharmacokinetic profile and efficacy.Hence,optimization of the key components provides an opportunity to develop ADCs with higher potency and fewer side effects.In this review,we comprehen-sively reviewed the current development and the prospects of ADC,provided an analysis of marketed ADCs and the ongoing pipelines globally as well as in China,highlighted several ADC platforms and technologies specific to different pharmaceutical enterprises and biotech companies,and also discussed the new related technologies,possibility of next-generation ADCs and the directions of clinical research.

Microbiota regulation in constipation and colorectal cancer

The relevance of constipation to the development and progression of colorectal cancer(CRC)is currently a controversial issue.Studies have shown that changes in the composition of the gut microbiota,a condition known as ecological imbalance,are correlated with an increasing number of common human diseases,including CRC and constipation.CRC is the second leading cause of cancerrelated deaths worldwide,and constipation has been receiving widespread attention as a risk factor for CRC.Early colonoscopy screening of constipated patients,with regular follow-ups and timely intervention,can help detect early intestinal lesions and reduce the risks of developing colorectal polyps and CRC.As an important regulator of the intestinal microenvironment,the gut microbiota plays a critical role in the onset and progression of CRC.An increasing amount of evidence supports the thought that gut microbial composition and function are key determinants of CRC development and progression,with alterations inducing changes in the expression of host genes,metabolic regulation,and local and systemic immunological responses.Furthermore,constipation greatly affects the composition of the gut microbiota,which in turn influences the susceptibility to intestinal diseases such as CRC.However,the crosstalk between the gut microbiota,constipation,and CRC is still unclear.

Without intervention,a considerable proportion of patients with metabolism‐associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)will progress from simple steatosis to metabolism‐associated steatohepatitis(MASH),liver fibrosis,and even hepatocellular carcinoma.However,the molecular mechanisms that control progressive MAFLD have yet to be fully determined.Here,we unraveled that the expression of the N6-methyladenosine(m6A)methyltransferase METTL14 is remarkably downregulated in the livers of both patients and several murine models of MAFLD,whereas hepatocyte-specific depletion of this methyltransferase aggravated lipid accumulation,liver injury,and fibrosis.Conversely,hepatic Mettl14 overexpression alleviated the above pathophysiological changes in mice fed on a high-fat diet(HFD).Notably,in vivo and in vitro mechanistic studies indicated that METTL14 downregulation decreased the level of GLS2 by affecting the translation efficiency mediated by YTHDF1 in an m6A-depedent manner,which might help to form an oxidative stress microenvironment and accordingly recruit Cx3cr1^(+)Ccr2^(+)monocyte-derived macrophages(Mo-macs).In detail,Cx3cr1^(+)Ccr2^(+)Mo-macs can be categorized into M1-like macrophages and S100A4-positive macrophages and then further activate hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)to promote liver fibrosis.Further experiments revealed that CX3CR1 can activate the transcription of S100A4 via CX3CR1/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway in Cx3cr1^(+)Ccr2^(+)Mo-macs.Restoration of METTL14 or GLS2,or interfering with this signal transduction pathway such as inhibiting MyD88 could ameliorate liver injuries and fibrosis.Taken together,these findings indicate potential therapies for the treatment of MAFLD progression.

Recent advances in holographic data storage

Nowadays, big-data centers still rely on hard drives. However, there is strong evidence that these surface-storage technologies are approaching fundamental limits that may be difficult to overcome, as ever-smaller bits become less thermally stable and harder to access. An intriguing approach for next generation data-storage is to use light to store information throughout the three- dimensional （3D） volume of a material. Holographic data storage （HDS） is poised to change the way we write and retrieve data forever. After many years of developing appropriate recording media and optical read-write architectures, this promising technology is now moving industriously to the market. In this paper, a review of the major achievements of HDS in the past ten years is presented and the key technique details are discussed. The author concludes that HDS technology is an attractive candidate for big data centers in the future. On the other hand, there are many challenges ahead for HDS technology to overcome in the years to come.

Dissecting the genetic components that contribute to the two main subphenotypes of steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome(SSNS)using genome-wide association studies(GWAS)strategy is important for understanding the disease.We conducted a multicenter cohort study(360 patients and 1835 controls)combined with a GWAS strategy to identify susceptibility var-iants associated with the following two subphenotypes of ssNS:steroid-sensitive nephrotic syn-drome without relapse(SSNswR,181 patients)and steroid-dependent/frequent relapse nephrotic syndrome(SDNS/FRNS,179 patients).The distribution of two single-nucleotide poly-morphisms(SNPs)in ANKRD36 and ALPG was significant between SSNSWR and healthy controls,and that of two SNPs in GAD1 and HLA-DQA1 was significant between SDNS/FRNS and healthy controls.Interestingly,rs1047989 in HLA-DQA1 was a candidate locus for SDNS/FRNS but not for SSNSWR.No significant SNPs were observed between SSNSWR and SDNS/FRNS.Meanwhile,chromosome 2:171713702 in GAD1 was associated with a greater steroid dose(>0.75 mg/kg/d)upon relapse to first remission in patients with SDNS/FRNS(odds ratio=3.14;95%confidence interval,0.97-9.87;P=0.034).rs117014418 in APOL4 was significantly associated with a decrease in eGFR of greater than 20%compared with the baseline in SDNS/FRNS patients(P=0.0001).Protein-protein intersection network construction suggested that HLA-DQA1 and HLA-DQB1 function together through GSDMA.Thus,SSNSWR belongs to non-HLA region-dependent nephropathy,and the HLA-DQA/DQB region is likely strongly associated with dis-ease relapse,especially in SDNS/FRNS.The study provides a novel approach for the GWAS strategy of SsNS and contributes to our understanding of the pathological mechanisms of SSNSWRandSDNS/FRNS.

我国目前着力于推进仲裁制度改革创新,《中华人民共和国仲裁法(修订)(征求意见稿)》顺应而出。在此修法视野下,作为“中国经验”的仲裁调解制度将进一步发展与完善。但令人遗憾的是,仲裁调解司法审查并未见于此次立法动向。事实上,现行法在该问题上的留白已造成诸多实践困境,虽司法层面已有所回应,即最高人民法院相继颁布相关司法解释和会议纪要予以应对,然仍难言充分。司法回应无法替代立法功能,前者价值的最终实现有赖于立法的确认。其次,既有的司法回应并未解决“中国经验”的根本问题,仲裁调解书与仲裁裁决的关系仍悬于未明。此外,司法回应在规范内容上亦有所疏漏,因此须得填补。而此次仲裁法修订,恰为仲裁调解司法审查的立法完善提供了便利条件。

针对预制混凝土构件生产过程中模台利用率低的问题,提出一种高效的构件布局定序和定位优化方法。充分考虑构件生产过程中模台、模具、构件布局尺寸、操作空间等实际约束限制,以构件占用模台总长度最短为目标,建立基于最低水平线排布算法的数学模型;应用改进灰狼算法确定构件排布顺序,通过构件类型、尺寸信息、模台尺寸约束、模具数量约束等对待排构件进行编码,并设置追随系数和自由系数控制灰狼算法的收敛速度和收敛范围,经过多次优化迭代得出最优布局方案。在实证分析中,使用Python编程语言对布局优化模型进行编码,最终表明该方法能在较短时间内取得较好的优化效果,模台利用率显著提高,证明了方法的有效性和可行性。

信息时代,各种信息爆发性增长,网络成为信息查阅与存储的主要方式。这在赋予人们便利生活的同时,也带来严峻的信息安全挑战。从大数据“杀熟”“人脸识别第一案”到新冠疫情期间行程信息被泄露引发网暴,各种个人信息泄露问题频频爆发,个人信息安全的重要性逐渐引起社会的关注。为加强对个人信息的保护,2021年,我国出台并施行了《个人信息保护法》,填补了个人信息保护领域的许多空白,但个人信息泄露的案例仍在不断出现。在民法和行政法的手段难以遏制与提供有效救济的情形下,刑法的介入就显得尤为重要。侵犯公民个人信息的犯罪应当适当被规定在刑法之中。相较于对个人信息保护立法更为先进的国家,我国个人信息保护的刑法领域还有许多改进空间,可以在借鉴国外先进经验的基础上予以完善,健全个人信息保护的刑法保护体系。

Study on read-only optical disk with Sb mask super-resolution

In this note, by using Sb to replace the Al reflective layer in the conventional optical disk, the recording pits with a diameter 380 nm and a depth 50 nm are read out in the device, whose laser wavelength λ is 632.8 nm and numerical aperture (NA) is 0.40. In the course of reproduction, the readout laser power is 4 mW and the rotation velocity of the disk is 5m/s. The optimum Sb film thickness is 28-30 nm and the CNR is 38-40 dB.
