BACKGROUND Patients rarely develop complicated infections in thyroid ***,we describe a patient with chronic infected unilateral giant thyroid cyst related to diabetes mellitus(DM).CASE SUMMARY A 66-year-old male was admitted due to an evident neck lump for 5 d after approximately 40 years of gradually progressive neck mass and 7 years of *** ultrasound and computed tomography scan showed a giant lump in the left thyroid gland *** was diagnosed with a large thyroid nodule complicated by tracheal dislocation and had surgical *** exploration revealed evident inflammatory edema and exudation between the left anterior neck muscles,the nodule and glandular ***,inflammatory lesions did not affect major neck ***,a left partial thyroidectomy was *** observation showed that the cystic thyroid mass consisted of extensive cystic wall calcification and was rich in massive rough sand-like calculi content and purulent *** pathology confirmed benign thyroid cyst with chronic *** The progression of this chronic infectious unilateral giant thyroid cyst may have been related to DM,and identifying blood vessels involvement can prevent serious complications during operation.

In this paper,a statistical cluster-based simulation channel model with a finite number of sinusoids is proposed for depicting the multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)communications in vehicleto-everything(V2X)*** the proposed sum-of-sinusoids(SoS)channel model,the waves that emerge from the transmitter undergo line-of-sight(LoS)and non-line-of-sight(NLoS)propagation to the receiver,which makes the model suitable for describing numerous V2X wireless communication scenarios for sixth-generation(6G).We derive expressions for the real and imaginary parts of the complex channel impulse response(CIR),which characterize the physical propagation characteristics of V2X wireless *** statistical properties of the real and imaginary parts of the complex CIRs,i.e.,autocorrelation functions(ACFs),Doppler power spectral densities(PSDs),cross-correlation functions(CCFs),and variances of ACFs and CCFs,are derived and *** results are generated and match those predicted by the underlying theory,demonstrating the accuracy of our derivation and *** proposed framework and underlying theory arise as an efficient tool to investigate the statistical properties of 6G MIMO V2X communication systems.

Significant nonradiative energy loss and short exciton diffusion length in organic solar cells(OSCs)are two major obstacles to achieving state-of-the-art *** is crucial to conduct a study on the intensive mechanism and improvement strategies for future breakthroughs in the efficiency of *** this work,nonradiative energy loss and exciton diffusion length are optimized simultaneously by incorporating a guest acceptor(LA15)to construct ternary OSC(D18:L8-bo:LA15).Firstly,LA15 exhibits excellent compatibility with the host acceptor L8-bo,and effectively improves the fluorescence quantum efficiency(FLQY),resulting in suppressed non-radiative energy ***,LA15 effectively prolongs the fluorescent lifetime of the acceptor phase from 0.85 to 1.12 ns,leading to larger exciton diffusion length,which is beneficial for reducing geminate ***,the addition of LA15 optimizes the crystallinity of the active layer with amplified charge transport *** a result,the optimized D18:L8-bo:LA15 device achieves ultralow nonradiative energy loss of 0.18 e V and improved fill factor(FF)with high efficiency up to 19.13%.These results highlight the crucial roles of regulating FLQYand exciton lifetime in achieving highefficiency OSCs.

Waste heat recovery of high-temperature granules is one of the most promising sustainable energy supply and carbon reduction ways for industry.A moving bed indirect heat exchanger(MBIHE)with inner-migration was proposed for granular heat *** migration and the enhanced heat transfer induced by two types of agitators(i.e.,agitator with slanted stick A_(s)and with plow-shaped surface A_(p))in the MBIHE are analyzed based on DEM coupled with *** to the effective agitation,the average heat transfer coefficient in the granule side is enhanced to∼3 times compared to that without *** heat recovery efficiency in the moving bed reached more than 70%with the agitations of either A_(s)or A_(p).The heat efficiency of A_(s)is∼7%higher than that of A_(p),but with at least 60%greater rotational *** ensure reliable agitation,the A_(p)is suggested to be adopted in the MBIHE to induce granule migration.

The gun-track launch system is a new special launch device that connects the track outside the *** it is constrained by the track,the characteristics of development of the muzzle jet differ from those of the traditional muzzle ***,it changes from freely developing to doing so in a constrained manner,where this results in an asymmetric direction of flow as well as spatio-temporal coupling-induced interference between various shock waves and the formation of *** this background,the authors of this article formulate and consider the development and characteristics of evolution of the muzzle jet as it impacts a constrained moving *** designed simulations to test the gun-track launch system,and established a numerical model based on the dynamic grid method to explore the development and characteristics of propagation of disturbances when the muzzle jet impacted a constrained moving *** also considered models without a constrained track for the sake of *** results showed that the muzzle jet assumed a circumferential asymmetric shape,and tended to develop in the area above the *** the test platform was close to the ground,the muzzle jet was subjected to reflections from it that enhanced the development and evolution of various forms of shock waves and vortices in the muzzle jet to exacerbate its rate of distortion and asymmetric *** in turn led to significant differences in the changes in pressure at symmetric points that would otherwise have been *** results of a comparative analysis showed that the constrained track could hinder the influence of reflections from the ground on the muzzle jet to some extent,and could reduce the velocity of the shock waves inducing the motion of the muzzle as well as the Mach number of the moving *** work here provides a theoretical basis and the requisite technical support for applications of the gun-track launch *** also sheds light on the

Ocean waves and Stokes drift are generated by *** study investigated the characteristics of ocean waves and wave-induced Stokes drift and their effects during Typhoon Mangkhut using European Centre for MediumRange Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)ERA5 datasets and observational *** results revealed that the typhoon generated intense cyclones and huge typhoon waves with a maximum wind speed of 45 m/s,a minimum pressure of955 h Pa,and a maximum significant wave height of 12 *** Stokes drift caused by typhoon waves exceeded 0.6m/s,the Stokes depth scale exceeded 18 m,and the maximum Stokes transport reached 6 m^(2)/*** spatial distribution of 10-m wind speed,typhoon wave height,Stokes drift,Stokes depth,and Stokes transport during the typhoon was highly correlated with the typhoon *** distribution along the typhoon track showed significant zonal asymmetry,with greater intensity on the right side of the typhoon track than on the left *** findings provide important insights into the impact of typhoons on ocean waves and Stokes drift,thus improving our understanding of the interactions between typhoons and the ocean *** study also investigated the contribution of Stokes transport to the total net transport during typhoons using Ekman-Stokes Numbers as a comparative *** results indicated that the ratio of Stokes transport to the total net transport reached up to 50%within the typhoon radius,while it was approximately 30%outside the *** Stokes transport induced by typhoon waves led to divergence in the transport direction,which resulted in upwelling of the lower ocean as a compensation ***,Stokes transport played a crucial role in the vertical mixing of the ocean during *** findings suggested that Stokes transport should be paid more attention to,particularly in high latitude ocean regions,where strong winds can amplify its effects.

高质量图形产品是冬奥气象服务信息的重要载体。基于冬奥气象数据高时空分辨率特征,研究了由多维气象信息向制图要素转换的冬奥气象图形产品可视化概念模型;设计了由基于数据引擎的结构映射、赛事服务的空间映射、组件应用的元素映射和派生思想的属性映射组成的冬奥气象图形产品可视化过程模型。针对差异化、准实时气象服务制图需求,设计了基于DVDL可视化描述语言的制图表达框架,对可视化模型进行业务组织,研发了冬奥气象图形产品加工系统,提供50余种基础产品样式和所见即所得的制图编辑功能,支持任意位置点长时间序列气象产品、山地赛场三维气象产品和多赛区综合服务气象产品的制图渲染。成果在2022年北京冬奥会气象服务中应用,生产了200余种不用服务主题气象图形产品,后续也可为其他冬季赛事和重大活动气象服务保障提供精细化产品制作解决方案。

In this work,novel D-A alternating polymers(PJ-1,PJ-2,and PJ-3)with chlorinated benzodithiophene and chlorinated thiazole units were synthesized via gradual *** polymers could be obtained readily through a few concise synthesis *** them,PJ-1 displayed desirable properties including energy levels,crystallinity,and charge transport *** binary and ternary organic solar cells(OSCs)fabricated based on PJ-1 displayed significant power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 15.02%and 19.12%,respectively,placing them among the highest reported for ternary ***,the PJ1-based devices also showcased one of the highest figure-of-merit values,indicating their promising potential for future *** study offers valuable insights and supports the development of costeffective and high-performance polymer donors for the generation of OSCs.

Long-term multivariate time series forecasting is an important task in engineering applications. It helps grasp the future development trend of data in real-time, which is of great significance for a wide variety of fields. Due to the non-linear and unstable characteristics of multivariate time series, the existing methods encounter difficulties in analyzing complex high-dimensional data and capturing latent relationships between multivariates in time series, thus affecting the performance of long-term prediction. In this paper, we propose a novel time series forecasting model based on multilayer perceptron that combines spatio-temporal decomposition and doubly residual stacking, namely Spatio-Temporal Decomposition Neural Network (STDNet). We decompose the originally complex and unstable time series into two parts, temporal term and spatial term. We design temporal module based on auto-correlation mechanism to discover temporal dependencies at the sub-series level, and spatial module based on convolutional neural network and self-attention mechanism to integrate multivariate information from two dimensions, global and local, respectively. Then we integrate the results obtained from the different modules to get the final forecast. Extensive experiments on four real-world datasets show that STDNet significantly outperforms other state-of-the-art methods, which provides an effective solution for long-term time series forecasting.
