The combination of sitagliptin and bee honey extract potentiates the anti-proliferative properties of 5-fluorouracil on Caco-2 cell line without detectable inflammatory events

Background:Colon cancer originates in the colon,specifically the large *** carries a poor prognosis and high mortality rate due to late diagnosis and ***:Here our objective was to evaluate the anticancer effects of sitagliptin(Sita)in colon cancer using Caco-2 ***,we examined the role of bee honey extract in modulating cancer cell division and necrotic events commonly observed during drug ***:We monitored cell viability rate to evaluate the effect of bee honey extract compared to 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu),Sita,and their *** gain further foresights into the implicated molecular interaction,we assessed the expression outline of Raf-1 and MEK,as proliferation ***,we examined the expression outline of p53 and Caspase 3,which are associated with programmed cell death(PCD),through western blot ***:We identified the Raf-1 expression pattern as a likely target for the drug combination and bee honey extract(HE),which effectively controlled colon cancer cell *** study demonstrates that honey extract,either alone or in combination with drugs,can induce PCD by restoring the p53 and CASP-3 *** was accompanied by a synergistic effect on the production of apoptotic cytokines,particularly interlukine-6(IL-6)and IL-8,in cancer ***,the treatment modulated the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines,including IL-1𝛼and IL-1𝛽and anti-inflammatory cytokines,including IL-4 and ***:Our findings shed light on honey extract and its combinations with 5-Fu and Sita in stimulating PCD and modulating cytokine production in Caco-2 cells.

Heat shock reduces HCV replication via regulation of ribosomal L22 in Alu-RNA molecule dependent manner

Aim: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a global health problem that affects more than 180 million people worldwide. HCV is associated with several hepatic and other hepatic disorders including malignancies. HCV is a small enveloped positive-single strand RNA virus that belongs to Hepacivirus in the family Flaviviridae. Here we aim to provide a new therapeutic strategy via treatment of infected HepG2 cells with heat shock (HS). Methods: The potential inhibitory effect of HS on HCV replication was assessed by the relative gene expression of NS5A and its corresponding protein by flowcytometry which has been additionally used to monitor other cellular factors. Results: HS treatment of infected HepG2 cells has the ability to disturb HCV replication possibly via stimulation of the Alu non-coding element which inhibits gene expression of ribosomal L22. Ribosomal protein L22 (RPl22) is one of the abundant RNA-binding proteins that are known to facilitate synthesis and translation of viral RNA and to participate in balancing the protein components of the ribosome itself. Conclusion: HS treatment of infected cells leads to up-regulation of long RNA-Alu molecule that regulates the expression of RPL22 and subsequently reduces HCV replication in HepG2 cells.

HDec-POSMDPs MRS Exploration and Fire Searching Based on IoT Cloud Robotics

The multi-robot systems(MRS)exploration and fire searching problem is an important application of mobile robots which require massive computation capability that exceeds the ability of traditional MRS′*** paper propose a cloud-based hybrid decentralized partially observable semi-Markov decision process(HDec-POSMDPs)*** proposed model is implemented for MRS exploration and fire searching application based on the Internet of things(IoT)cloud robotics *** this implementation the heavy and expensive computational tasks are offloaded to the cloud *** proposed model achieves a significant improvement in the computation burden of the whole task relative to a traditional *** proposed model is applied to explore and search for fire objects in an unknown environment;using different sets of robots *** preliminary evaluation of this implementation demonstrates that as the parallelism of computational instances increase the delay of new actuation commands which will be decreased,the mean time of task completion is decreased,the number of turns in the path from the start pose cells to the target cells is minimized and the energy consumption for each robot is reduced.

Carbon Nanofibers Containing Ag/TiO<sub>2</sub>Composites as a Preliminary Stage for CDI Technology

Silver/titanium dioxide composite nanoparticles imbedded in polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers and converted into carbon nanofibers by stabilization and calcination was obtained and tested for capacitive deionization technology. First, the silver ions were converted to metallic silver nanoparticles, through reduction of silver nitrate with dilute solution of PAN. Second, the TiO2 precursor (Titanium Isopropoxide) was added to the solution to form Ag/TiO2 composites imbedded in the PAN polymer solution. Last step involves electrospinning of viscous PAN solution containing silver/TiO2 nanoparticles, thus obtaining PAN nanofibers containing silver/TiO2 nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that the diameter of the nanofibers ranged between 50 and 300 nm. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) showed silver/TiO2 nanoparticles dispersed on the surface of the carbon nanofibers. The obtained fiber was fully characterized by measuring and comparing the FTIR spectra and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) diagrams of PAN nanofiber with and without imbedded nanoparticles, in order to show the effect of silver/TiO2 nanoparticles on the electrospun fiber properties.
