Short-term outcomes of single-incision compared to multi-port laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer:A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Objective:Single-incision laparoscopic sugery has emerged as a safe and less invasive approach to conventional multi-port *** present meta-analysis aimed to assess the collective outcomes of single-incision laparoscopic gastrectomy(SILG)compared to multi-port laparoscopic gastrectomy(MLG)for gastric ***:A PRISMA-compliant systematic review of randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that compared SILG and MLG for gastric cancer in PubMed and Scopus through January 2023 was *** main outcomes of the review were complications,postoperative pain,conversion to open surgery,hospital stay,and ***:Three RCTs including 301 patients(61.8%male)were incuded.A total of 151 patients underwent SILG,and 150 underwent *** was associated with a shorter operative time(WMD=-16.39,95%CI:=27.38 to=5.40,p=0.003;2=0%)and lower pain scores at postoperative day 3(WMD=-1.18,95%CI:=2.27 to=0.091,p=0.033;I^(2)=99%)than *** were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in es timated blood loss(WMD=-16.95,95%CI:-35.84 to 1.95,p=0.078;I^(2)=82%),complications(OR=0.71,95%Cl:0.36 to 1.42,p=0.337;I^(2)=0%),conversion to open surgery(OR=0.33,95%C:0.01 to 8.38,p=0.504),hospital stay(WMD=0.72,95%CI:-0.92 to 2.36,p=0.056;P=84%),time to first flatus(WMD=0.06,95%CI:=0.14 to 0.26,p=0.566;I^(2)=0%),time to first defecation(WMD=-0.14,95%CI:=0.46 to 0.18,p=0.392;I^(2)=0%),or time to first oral intake(WMD=0.37,95%a:=0.75 to 1.49,p=0.520;I^(2)=94%).Conclusions:SILG is associated with shorter operative times and less early postoperative pain than *** odds of complications,blood loss,hospital stay,and gastrointestinal recovery were similar between the two procedures.

Reduced graphene oxide supersonically sprayed on wearable fabric and decorated with iron oxide for supercapacitor applications

Significant Lifetime Enhancement in QLEDs by Reducing Interfacial Charge Accumulation via Fluorine Incorporation in the ZnO Electron Transport Layer

ZnO nanoparticles are widely used for the electron transport layers(ETLs)of quantum dots light emitting devices(QLEDs).In this work we show that incorporating fluorine(F)into the ZnO ETL results in significant enhancement in device electroluminescence stability,leading to LT50 at 100 cd m^(−2) of 2,370,000 h in red QLED,47X longer than the control devices.X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy,time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectroscopy,photoluminescence and electrical measurements show that the F passivates oxygen vacancies and reduces electron traps in *** photoluminescence versus bias measurements and capacitance-voltage-luminance measurements reveal that the CF4 plasma-treated ETLs lead to increased electron concentration in the QD and the QD/hole transport layer interface,subsequently decreasing hole accumulation,and hence the higher *** findings provide new insights into the critical roles that optimizing charge distribution across the layers play in influencing stability and present a novel and simple approach for extending QLED lifetimes.

Literature review of the outcome of and methods used to improve transperineal repair of rectocele

Concentrating solar power technology is one of the most promising alternative energy *** recent past,Linear Fresnel Reflector systems have received great attention and novel designs have been proposed keeping in view the objective to enhance its functionality and *** achieving the same objective,this study presents a novel concept where a conventional LFR is enclosed in a greenhouse called *** was expected that such an enclosure can:(1)increase the incoming solar radiation,(2)further improve the overall efficiency due to simplified cleaning process and(3)reduce the capital cost for the construction of LFR support system.A complete thermal and optical analysis was presented for modeling and performance evaluation of the solar field of both conventional-LFR and novel *** of non-linear equations for each system were solved using Newton-Raphson *** detailed optical analysis was further performed for conventional-LFR considering the seasonal *** results concluded that the greenhouse-LFR is better than the conventional-LFR as it had higher efficiency and useful heat with lesser heat *** greenhouse-LFR,the maximum thermal efficiency was 73.2%whereas for conventional-LFR it was 37.2%.Also,there was an average increase of useful heat by 3 times in the month of February and 4.7 times in the month of ***^(TM) analysis indicated significant spillage loss when a conventional-LFR was used without a secondary reflector or slight curvature of the mirrors.

Living donor liver transplantation for high model for endstage liver disease score:What have we learned?

AIM: To assess the impact of model for end-stage liver disease(MELD) score on patient survival and morbidity post living donor liver transplantation(LDLT). METHODS: A retrospective study was performed on 80 adult patients who had LDLT from 2011-2013. Nine patients were excluded and 71 patients were divided into two groups; Group 1 included 38 patients with a MELD score 20. Comparison between both groups was done regarding operative time, intra-operative blood requirement, intensive care unit(ICU) and hospital stay, infection, and patient ***: Eleven patients died(15.5%); 3/38(7.9%)patients in Group 1 and 8/33(24.2%) in Group 2 with significant difference(P = 0.02). Mean operative time, duration of hospital stay, and ICU stay were similar in both groups. Mean volume of blood transfusion and cell saver re-transfusion were 8 ± 4 units and 1668 ± 202 m L, respectively, in Group 1 in comparison to 10 ± 6 units and 1910 ± 679 m L, respectively, in Group 2 with no significant difference(P = 0.09 and 0.167, respectively). The rates of infection and systemic complications(renal, respiratory, cardiovascular and neurological complications) were similar in both groups. CONCLUSION: A MELD score > 20 may predict mortality after LDLT.

Multicomponent synthesis and designing of tetrasubstituted imidazole compounds catalyzed via ionic-liquid for acid steel corrosion protection:Experimental exploration and theoretical calculations

Five new tetrasubstituted imidazoles were designed with outstanding yields(83%-92%) in the occurrence of ionic liquid-based-pyridinium as a catalyst. The constructions of all synthesized derivatives were established by spectral tools and their purities were verified using thin-layer chromatography(TLC), displaying single-spot. The performance of corrosion protection of the prepared imidazole derivatives was examined theoretically and practically for acid steel corrosion. The experimental study was conducted by electrochemical(electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and Tafel polarization(PPS)) *** findings from the used approaches concluded that the synthesized compounds were wellorganized inhibitors with an efficiency of 90.7%-98.5% at 50℃ and 0.7 mmol·L^(-1). The Tafel polarization results indicate the protective action of the additives was under mixed-monitoring. The additive adsorption on the electrode interface performed as a distinguished aspect for protection. The surface exploration on the blank and protected metal was completed by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM). Computational studies by Monte Carlo(MC) simulation and quantum chemical calculation(DFT)were related to practical findings. The corrosion protection adsorption mechanism was reinforced by the preferable fitted Langmuir isotherm model. All findings from the applied-inspected approaches alternately confirm each other.

Rare earth oxides doped NiO/γ-Al_2O_3 catalyst for oxidative dehydrogenation of cyclohexane

The effect of rare earth oxides （RE=Ce, La, Gd, and Dy） doping of alumina support in NiO/7-A1203 system was investi- gated on its catalytic performance in oxidative dehydrogenation （ODH） of cyclohexane. The physicochemical properties of various samples were followed up through N2 physisorption, temperature programmed reduction （H2-TPR）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and potentiometric acid-base titration techniques. In the parent NiO/y-A1203 catalyst, Ni species were found to be strongly interacted with alumina surface. Addition of rare earth dopants to ）＇-A1203 in the catalyst system affected the nickel-alumina interaction and resulted in significant modifications in the catalytic performances in the ODH reaction. The results re- vealed the beneficial role of both La203 and Gd2Os doping in enhancing the ODH catalytic activity and selectivity to cyclohexene. H2-TPR and XPS results indicated that majority of Ni species in NiO/La203 modified T-A1203 were more weakly interacted with La203 and alumina whereas both NiO like species and nickel aluminate were present on the surface. Doping with cerium or dyspro- sium increased the nickel-support interaction and led to a decrease in surface nickel concentration. In case of doping with Ce, surface concentration of cerium oxide was higher than those of the other RE oxides; the doped catalyst reached its steady state activity faster than the other catalysts. The acid-base results suggested that RE metals were interacted most likely with acidic surface hydroxyl groups. The degree of nickel-alumina interaction decreased in the following order： LaAI〉GdAI〉CeAI〉DyA1.

Augmented communications: spectral efficiency and security enhanced visible light communications by design

A plethora of physical-layer techniques aim to enhance the performance of communication systems in several ways. Spectral efficiency and security are on the top of the list of enhancements;however, both are isolated and antagonistic islands of research. Augmented communication(ACom) is introduced in this Letter as the first technique that aims to combine these two enhancements in visible light communications(VLCs). The dividends of the proposed concept are demonstrated via simulations and the performance is experimentally *** show that ACom can simultaneously provide the high spectral efficiency and the resistance to eavesdropping, while introducing minimal signal-to-noise ratio penalties.
