In order to confirm which process is the most important in the blood coagulation cascade,a dynamic model on the function of platelets in blood coagulation is presented based on biochemical *** on qualitative analysis and mathematical simulation,a series of conclusions about the influence of the activation rate of factor VIII and factor IX on the generation of thrombin(IIa)are *** is evident that the pro-coagulation stimulus must exceed a threshold value to initiate the coagulation *** value is related to the binding constant d_2 of the platelet. The stability of the equilibrium value is also related to the pro-coagulation stimulus. Keyhole surgeries become mcreasingly important in clinical daily routine as they help minimizing the damage of a patient's healthy *** planning of keyhole surgeries is based on medical imaging and an important factor that influences the surgeries**** to the image reconstruction process,medical image data contains uncertainty that exacerbates the planning of a keyhole *** this paper we present a visual workflow that helps clinicians to examine and compare different surgery paths as well as visualizing the patientsJ affected *** analysis is based on the concept of hierarchical image semantics,that segment the underlying image data with respect to the input images'uncertainty and the users understanding of tissue *** can define arbitrary surgery paths that they need to investigate *** defined paths can be queried by a rating function to identify paths that fulfill user-defined *** workflow allows a visual inspection of the affected tissues and its ***,the workflow includes a linked view system indicating the three-dimensional location of selected surgery paths as well as how these paths affect the patients *** show the effectiveness of the presented approach,we applied it to the planning of a keyhole surgery of a brain tumor removal and a kneecap surgery.

Interpreting a myocardial inflammation as causal,contributory or as of no significance at all in the cause of death can be challenging,especially in cases where other pathologic and/or medico-legal findings are also *** further evaluate the significance of myocardial inflammation as a cause of death we performed a retrospective cohort study of forensic and clinical autopsy *** revised the spectrum of histological inflammatory parameters in the myocardium of 79 adult autopsy cases and related these to the reported cause of *** slides were reviewed for the distribution and intensity of inflammatory cell infiltrations,the predominant inflammatory cell type,and the presence of inflammation-associated myocyte injury,fibrosis,edema and ***,the cases were divided over three groups,based on the reported cause of *** 1(n=27)consisted of all individuals with an obvious unnatural cause of *** 2(n=29)included all individuals in which myocarditis was interpreted to be one out of more possible causes of *** 3(n=23)consisted of all individuals in which myocarditis was reported to be the only significant finding at autopsy,and no other cause of death was *** application of our histological parameters showed that only a diffuse increase of inflammatory cells could discriminate between an incidental presence of inflammation(Group 1)or a potentially significant one(Groups 2 and 3).No other histological parameter showed significant differences between the *** results suggest that generally used histological parameters are often insufficient to differentiate an incidental myocarditis from a(potentially)significant one.

ABc transporters have been suggested to be involved in insecticide detoxification in different insect species mainly based on the indirect observation of transcriptional upregulation of ABc gene expression in response to insecticide *** studies performed by us and others in the red flour beetle,Tribolium castaneum,have analyzed the function of TcABcA-c and TcABcG-H genes using RNA interference(RNAi)and demonstrated that specific TcABcA and TcABcc genes are involved in the elimination of the pyrethroid tefluthrin and the benzoylurea diflubenzuron,because gene silencing increased the beetle's susceptibility to the *** this study,we focused on the potential functions of TcABcA-c genes in detoxification of the pyrethroid cyfluthrin(cF),the organophosphate malathion(MAL)and the diacylhdyazine tebufenozide(TBF).Analysis of transcript levels of selected TcABcA-c genes in response to treatment with these three chemically unrelated insecticides revealed that some genes were particularly upregulated after insecticide *** addition,the ABc inhibitor verapamil synergized significantly the toxicity of MAL but only negligibly cF and TBF ***,silencing of two TcABcc genes by RNAi revealed a significant increase in susceptibility to *** contrast,we did not observe a significant increase in insecticide-induced mortalities when knocking down TcABc genes in larvae treated with cF or TBF,although they were upregulated in response to insecticide *** results suggest that two pleiotropic ABcc transporters expressed in metabolic and excretory tissues contribute to the elimination of MAL.

While hepatitis B virus(HBV)screening relies on hepatitis B surface antigen to confirm HBV infection since the early days of hepatitis B disease management,hepatitis c virus(HcV)infection screening is based on anti-HcV testing which does not discriminate active from past *** to confirm infection HcV RNA testing has been required;recently a HcV core antigen assay became widely commercially available which could serve to confirm *** assay is less sensitive than current HcV RNA assays,but as more than 50%of anti-HcV positive persons will be HcV core antigen positive,HcV core antigen testing can be a cost effective and reflex test to confirm HcV infection in anti-HcV positive individuals and will be easier as it can be applied on the same *** treatment monitoring,more data need to be generated,but the early data available at present suggest that HcV core antigen may be an alternative to HcV RNA *** direct antivirals,HcV core antigen could even be superior to HcV RNA testing,as direct antivirals might already prevent virus formation when HcV core antigen is still produced and thereby correlates better with eventual viral clearance.

Microstructure, mechanical properties and wear resistance in an ultrafine-grained Al–Mg–Si alloy fabricated utilizing a combination of equal channel angular pressing(EcAP) and dynamic aging were investigated in this paper. The results indicated that the grain size of the EcAP alloy was significantly refined, i.e., to ～239 nm after three EcAP passes. Meanwhile, the yield and tensile strength of the EcAPed material reached 340 MPa and445 MPa, respectively, while maintaining a significant uniform elongation of 14%. Wear resistance results demonstrated that the wear rate, wear depth and width of the EcAPed material decreased in comparison with the solution-treated(SST) and peak-aged(T6) conditions under a load range of 5–25 N. The adhesive wear that occurs in the undeformed specimens at 10 N does not appear in the EcAPed specimen at the same load, indicating that the EcAPed specimen delay the appearance of more serious wear mechanisms under certain *** cooperative interaction of high density nano-scale β" precipitates and dislocations resulted in a combination of super-high strength and good work hardening ability which suppressed the extension of cracks between the friction layer and the plastic deformation zone. As a consequence, the combination of EcAP and dynamic aging brings a significant improvement for antifriction performance of the 6061 aluminum alloy.
