Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are cost-effective,sustainable,and versatile electricity producers,allowing them to be incorporated into a variety of *** this work,we explore the usage of pharmacophore modeling to identify metal-free dyes for DSSCs by means of virtual *** models were built based on experimentally tested *** screening was performed against a large dataset of commercially available compounds taken from the ZINC15 library and identified multiple virtual hits.A subset of these hits was subjected to DFT and time-dependent-DFT calculations leading to the identification of two compounds,TSC6 and ASC5,with appropriate molecular orbitals energies,favorable localization,and reasonable absorption UV–vis *** results suggest that pharmacophore models,traditionally used in drug discovery and lead optimization,successfully predicted electronic properties,which are in agreement with the theoretical requirements for *** models may therefore find additional usages as modeling tools in materials sciences.

This article draws attention to the subject of art in Levinas＇s thinking through consideration of his philosophical language, which is aided by images, metaphors, and idioms of art. The primary image that will accompany our discussion throughout this article is the image of art as shadow, which Levinas incorporates into the title of the essay which he devotes to the subject of art：＂Reality and Its Shadow＂. Thinking about art from the perspective of Levinas means thinking about image and essence, about which is visible before us and which we cannot see, and about the different ways in which art can express itself. Levinas＇s theory of interpretation is grounded in and guided by the field of ethics and addresses the ethical aspects of interpretation. Levinas approaches the discourse of interpretation not out of na＇ivet6 but rather based on a deep understanding of the field of hermeneutics, with all its shortcomings and challenges. Thinking of hermeneutics from an ethical perspective is no mere addition to the discussion but the very crux of the matter. An attempt to understand interpretation as an act of exposing the truth encounters serious philosophical and logical difficulties, whether we are seeking to discover the intention of the artist, the intent of a specific work of art, or a hidden form within the work itself. The engagement with Levinas＇s theory of hermeneutics, however, raises a different question which is the focus of this article： Can Levinas＇s theory of interpretation be applied to the realm of artistic creation, and if so, how？ This question is sharpened by the difficulties that Levinas himself poses to his readers by designating art as the ＂shadow＂ of reality and drawing attention to the egoistic dimension of the artistic act.

The mechanical properties of individual WS2 nanotubes were investigated and directly related to their atomic structure details by in situ transmission electron microscope measurements.A brittle mode deformation was observed in bending tests of short(ca.1μm in length)multilayer *** mode can be related to the atomic structure of their *** addition,longer nanotubes(67μm in length)were deformed in situ scanning electron microscope,but no plastic deformation was detected.A“sword-in-sheath”fracture mechanism was revealed in tensile loading of a nanotube,and the sliding of inner shells inside the outermost shell was imaged“on-line”.Furthermore,bending modulus of 217 GPa was obtained from measurements of the electric-fi eld-induced resonance of these nanotubes.

The response of phytoplankton and its satellite bacteria to various concentrations(0.01%-10%v/v)of ethanol is *** elucidate the effect of ethanol,single-strains of phytoplankton(SSP)culture,pure strains of satellite bacteria isolated from nonaxenic SSP cultures,and Escherichia coli were *** indicate that ethanol could promote the growth and photo synthetic efficiency(F_(v)/F_(m))of S SP at 0.01%and the growth of satellite bacteria at 0.01%-1%.Nevertheless,ethanol inhibited the growth and F_(v)/F_(m)of SSP at 0.1%-1%,and killed bacteria and SSP at 10% *** investigation on a satellite bacterium(Mameliella alba)revealed that ethanol promotes growth by serving as a growth stimulant rather than a metabolic carbon *** 16 S rRNA gene amplicon indicated that all nonaxenic S SP cultures harbor distinct satellite bacteria communities where the SSP culture of Skeletonema costatum,Phaeodactylum tricornutum,and Dunaliella bardawil were dominated by bacteria genera of Marivita(~80%),Dinoroseobacter(~47%),and Halomonas(~87%),respectively,indicating that every SSP cultures have their own distinct satellite bacterial *** bacteria family Rhodobacteraceae was dominant in the two marine diatoms,whereas Halomonadaceae was dominant in the saline green *** to their respective controls,the supply of 0.5% ethanol to SSP cultures promoted the growth of the satellite bacteria but did not cause a significant difference in species composition of satellite ***,a low concentration of ethanol can promote the growth of bacteria in a non-selective *** study enriched our knowledge about the effect of ethanol on aquatic microbes and provided a baseline for basic and applied biotechnological re search in the aquatic environment in the future.

The dual purpose of this study is to investigate whether disability predicts posttraumatic stress levels among Vietnam theater veterans, and whether coping and/or social support moder- ates the impact of disability on PTSD levels, after controlling for demographic, pre-military, military, and post-military factors. This research analyzed data from the U.S.’s National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Study (NVVRS), which was a nationally representative, stratified, random sample of 3,016 Vietnam veterans. The results indicated that disability, emotional support, instrumental support, and wishful – thinking coping significantly predicted PTSD, when controlling for demographic, pre-military, military, and post-military factors. Further, interactions indicated that both emotional social support and problem-solving coping significantly decreased the impact of disability on PTSD levels. Implications of this research are briefly discussed.

控制细菌群落是微生物生态学的一大挑战,有效的控制菌群在石油污染生物降解方面具有潜在的应用前景。由于缺乏使用依赖培养的方法获得的可培养的关键参与菌株,利用不依赖培养的方法获得的信息来构建稳定且高活性的石油降解菌群仍然是一个难题。因此,为了攻克这个难题,本论文采用“先培养后富集”的策略,从石油污染的海水中获得大量可培养的微生物,用于构建稳定的、活性高的石油降解菌群。首先,从石油污染的海水中直接进行培养,获得可培养的微生物;其次,将得到的可培养微生物群落在海水中稳定,增强微生物群落的降解活性和稳定性;在此基础上,评价菌群在含有柴油的海水中的降解活性;最后,从菌群中分离纯化菌株,鉴定它们的生物降解功能。获得的主要结果如下:1.将石油污染的海水样品接种到营养丰富的固体培养基上,将琼脂平板上生长的菌落洗脱,获得大量可培养的石油降解菌。通过16S rRNA基因测序,测定在OTU和属水平上原位海水与洗脱菌落的微生物多样性比值,并量化比值作为可培养率。结果表明,在OTU水平上可培养率达到～32.8%,属水平上可培养率达到～34.5%,并且形成了由40个石油降解菌属组成的的多样性高的微生物菌群。2.将洗脱的微生物在海水中稳定两个月,以提高微生物菌群在海水中的降解活性,然后将稳定的微生物菌群接种到含有1%柴油海水培养基中,并与未经稳定的菌群进行比较。通过16S rRNA基因测序技术,监测原位海水菌群、洗脱菌落以及稳定菌群的变化。稳定菌群与非稳定菌群之间石油降解菌的相对丰度、降解速率以及生物量分别使用16S rRNA测序、GC-MS以及qPCR的方法测定。16S rRNA基因测序结果显示稳定后的群落与原位海水群落聚集在一起,不同于洗脱后的群落,表现出“自组装”的过程。石油降解菌相对丰度在稳定混合菌群中占比83%,中,明显高于非稳定混合菌群（54%）。GC-MS结果表明稳定混合菌群的降解率约72%,高于非稳定混合菌群,仅为299%。16S rRNA基因拷贝的qPCR表明稳定混合菌群的群落生物量（108）比非稳定混合菌群（107）高一个数量级。3.为了获得石油降解菌株并确定它们在微生物群落中的潜在作用,从稳定群落中分离纯化得到88株细菌,隶属于33属。其中11株为潜在新种,2株为潜在新属。采用油平板法、PCR扩增烷烃降解基因（alkB）和生物表面活性剂产生标记基因（srfAA）法测定了分离菌株在石油生物降解过程中的潜在作用。结果表明,其中14个属具有利用柴油作为碳源的潜力,5个属具有潜在的生物表面活性剂生产潜力。其中,编号为R17、FM1和FSX-11菌株分别为石油降解菌和产生物表面活性剂的新菌种。薄层色谱结果表明,FM1和R17均能产生表面活性剂,而且菌株R17对柴油的降解率为62%左右,菌株FM1的为70%左右。

This study aims to investigate the antibacterial activities of essential oils isolated from various parts (buds, leaves and stems) of Eugenia caryophylata. The essentials oils were distillated by steam distillation, and the isolated was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Five components of each sample of oils (buds, leaves and stems) were identified. Main component in the bud are eugenol (75.30%), eugenyl acetate (20.93%) and β-caryophyllene (3.00%) and eugenol (82.97%), β-caryophyllene (12.84%) in leaf oil, while in stem oil eugenol (97.75%). The oils were tested for in vitro antimicrobial activities against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis), the Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium). The essential oils of bud, leaf and stem oil show that antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
