Sweet potato is a multifunctional root crop with many essential nutrients and bioactive *** to its genetic complexity and lack of genomic resources,efficient genetic studies and cultivar development lag far behind other major *** sequence repeats(SSRs)offer an effective molecular marker technology for molecular-based breeding and for locating important loci in crop plants,but only a few have previously been developed in sweet *** further explore new SSR markers and accelerate their use in sweet potato genetic studies,genome-wide characterization and development of SSR markers were performed using the recently published genome of sweet potato cultivar,*** this study,a set of 2,431 primer pairs were developed from 133,727 SSRs identified in the sweet potato genome using the Perl script MISA *** average frequency was one SSR per 6.26 kb,with dinucleotides(38.5%)being the most dominant repeat *** main motif types in all repeats were AT/AT,AAT/ATT,A/T,AAAT/ATTT,AAAAT/ATTTT and AAAAAT/ATTTTT accounting for 78.29%of the total SSRs.50%of the 100 randomly selected primer pairs amplified 251 alleles,and the average number of alleles was 5.02 per locus for values ranging between 1 and *** UPGMA cluster analysis grouped the 24 sweet potato genotypes into four clusters at a similarity coefficient of *** SSR markers currently developed will provide valuable genetic resources for germplasm identification,genetic diversity analysis,and functional genomics studies in sweet potato and related species.

AIM To describe the development and implementation of a person-centered endoscopy safety checklist and to evaluate the effects of a "checklist intervention".METHODS The checklist,based on previously published safety checklists,was developed and locally adapted,taking patient safety aspects into consideration and using a person-centered approach. This novel checklist was introduced to the staff of an endoscopy unit at a Stockholm University Hospital during half-day seminars and team training sessions. Structured observations of the endoscopy team's performance were conducted before and after the introduction of the checklist. In addition,questionnaires focusing on patient participation,collaboration climate,and patient safety issues were collected from patients and staff. RESULTS A person-centered safety checklist was developed and introduced by a multi-professional group in the endoscopy unit. A statistically significant increase in accurate patient identity verification by the physicians was noted(from 0% at baseline to 87% after 10 mo,P < 0.001),and remained high among nurses(93% at baseline vs 96% after 10 mo,P = nonsignificant). Observations indicated that the professional staff made frequent attempts to use the checklist,but compliance was suboptimal: All items in the observed nurse-led "summaries" were included in 56% of these interactions,and physicians participated by directly facing the patient in 50% of the interactions. On the questionnaires administered to the staff,items regarding collaboration and the importance of patient participation were rated more highly after the introduction of the checklist,but this did not result in statistical significance(P = 0.07/P = 0.08). Dear Editor, Most mitochondrial proteins are encoded by the nuclear genome and posttranslationally imported to mitochondria. The correct targeting is often ensured by an N-terminal exten- sion designated presequence. Upon import, the presequence is cleaved off in a reaction termed processing. Most of our knowledge regarding mitochondrial processing comes from analyses performed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. In yeast, the mitochondrial processing peptidase （MPP） is responsible for processing of the majority of mitochondrial precursors, with a fraction of them undergoing a second step of processing, car- ried out by either metalloproteases （Octl/MIP, Icp55） or serine proteases （Imp, Pcpl）（reviewed in Teixeira and Glaser, 2012）. Unusual two-step processing in which both processing steps are carried out by MPP has been reported for yeast and human frataxin （Branda et al., 1999） and for Neurospora crassa mito- chondrial ATP synthase subunit 9 （Schmidt et al., 1984）.

A series of chemical composition based on Cr, Fe and O with Zn as a partially substituting ion has been prepared in the general formula Zn//xCr//1// minus //xFe//2O by coprecipitation method using NH//4OH as the precipitating agent at pH equals 10.3. The prepared samples were identified by both thermal analysis (DTA and TGA) and X-ray diffraction. It was found that no single phase is obtained for any of the studied compositions but a mixture of different phases is observed, depending on the molar percentage of zinc ion substitution as well as on the sintering temperature. The temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity, sigma , of the prepared samples is plotted between 25 and 680 degree C. It was observed that the electrical conductivity increases with temperature for both samples with x equals 0.00 and 0.80 Zn ion content while it is nearly temperature independent for samples with intermediate Zn concentration x equals 0.2 and 0.5 mol fraction. The activation energy, E//a, calculated from the linear relation, lg sigma -1000/T for the final mixtures (sintered at 1300 degree C) was calculated. (Edited author abstract) 16 Refs.

Pyrolysis is an option for enhancing the sustainable management of broiler manure surpluses by producing a concentrated,hygienic char product with a fertilizer and soil conditioner *** this study,the impacts of pyrolysis conducted at 350,400 and 450℃ on total nutrient and harmful element concentrations in biochars derived from peat-bedded broiler manure were *** was placed on the availability of phosphorus(P).In addition,the pore structures of these biochars were explored using X-ray microtomography and image *** pyrolysis,35-50%,40-55%and 35-45%of the original carbon,nitrogen and sulfur contents,respectively,of the feedstock biomass were lost as *** elements,including P,were concentrated in the *** water-extractable P was found to be converted to less labile forms due to charring,the concentration effect and notable increase in sodium bicarbonate-extractable P rendered broiler manure biochars richer in total labile P in comparison with feedstock manure(7.1,10.0,11.1 and 14.8 g labile P kg^(−1)in feedstock and biochars produced at 350,400 and 450℃,respectively).The pore volume of the micrometer-scale porosity of the broiler manure biochar was comparable to that found earlier in wood-based *** comparison with wood-based biochars,the pore structure of broiler manure biochars was more versatile,and the pore size distribution was ***,part of the porosity was too large to store plant-available water,which may reduce the potential of broiler manure biochars to improve soil water storage capacity.

9-Pyridyl-1,8-dioxo-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydroxanthene 3 (C18H17NO3) was prepared by the reaction of 4-pyridinecarboxaldehyde and 1,3-cyclohexanedione using Nafion-H as catalyst. The crystal and molecular structures were studied. The crystal is of orthorhombic, space group Pbcn with a = 20.369(4), b = 14.528(2), c = 9.747(17) ?, V = 2884.3(9) ?3, Dc = 1.360 g/cm3, Z = 8, F(000) = 1248 and μ(MoKα) = 0.093 mm-1. The final R = 0.0395, wR = 0.1087 for 1458 observed reflections (I > 2σ(I)), and R = 0.1032, wR = 0.1340 for all 2580 reflections. The outer rings of the xanthene groups adopt an almost ideal envelope conformation, and the heterocyclic central ring exhibits a distorted boat conformation. The pyridyl group is rotated with respect to the xanthene system by 87°.
