Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-loaded amniotic membrane for the repair of radial nerve injury

In this study, we loaded human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells onto human amniotic membrane with epithelial cells to prepare nerve conduits, i.e., a relatively closed nerve regeneration chamber. After neurolysis, the injured radial nerve was enwrapped with the prepared nerve conduit, which was fixed to the epineurium by sutures, with the cell on the inner surface of the conduit. Simultaneously, a 1.0 mL aliquot of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell suspension was injected into the distal and proximal ends of the injured radial nerve with 1.0 cm intervals. A total of 1.75 x 107 cells were seeded on the amniotic membrane. In the control group, patients received only neurolysis. At 12 weeks after cell transplantation, more than 80% of patients exhibited obvious improvements in muscular strength, and touch and pain sensations. In contrast, these improvements were observed only in 55-65% of control patients. At 8 and 12 weeks, muscular electrophysiological function in the region dominated by the injured radial nerve was significantly better in the transplantation group than the control group. After cell transplantation, no immunological rejections were observed. These findings suggest that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-loaded amniotic membrane can be used for the repair of radial nerve injury.

Studies have shown that retreatment of the distal stoma after nerve grafting can stimulate nerve regeneration. The present study attempted to verify the effects of reanastomosis of the distal stoma, after nerve grafting, on nerve regeneration by assessing brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in 2-month-old rats. Results showed that brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in L2-4 dorsal root ganglia began to increase 3 days after autologous nerve grafting post sciatic nerve injury, peaked at 14 days, decreased at 28 days, and reached similar levels to the sham-surgery group at 56 days. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in L2-4 dorsal root ganglia began to increase 3 days after reanastomosis of the distal stoma, 59 days after autologous nerve grafting post sciatic nerve injury, significantly increased at 63 days, peaked at 70 days, and gradually decreased thereafter, but remained higher compared with the sham-surgery group up to 112 days. The results of this study indicate that reanastomosis of the distal stoma after orthotopic nerve grafting stimulated brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in L2.4 dorsal root ganglia.

In this study,we synthesized an organic material with near-infrared emission capabilities:4-(2-(4-(9-(4-(diphenylamino)phenyl)naphtho[2,3-c][1,2,5]thiadiazol-4-yl)phenyl)-1H-phenol-1-ylidene)malononitrile(TPA).Furthermore,TPA-PEG2000 fluorescent nanoparticles were prepared via coating the shells with ***-PEG2000 exhibited strong near-infrared emission near 700 nm,with a photoluminescence quantum yield of 15.09%,indicating a high emission *** biology experiments have confirmed its low toxicity and excellent *** cholesterol and phospholipid levels in liver cancer cell membranes with low sensitivity or high drug resistance lead to increased rigidity,reduced membrane fluidity,reduced endocytic efficiency,and reduced ***,the uptake of TPA-PEG2000 nanoparticles into cells and the near-infrared fluorescence intensity can be used to evaluate the sensitivity of systemic liver cancer treatment in a simple and efficient manner.

Commercial Cu and Al current collectors for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)possess high electrical conductivity,suitable chemical and electrochemical ***,the relatively flat surface of traditional current collectors causes weak bonding strength and poor electrochemical contact between current collectors and electrode materials,resulting in potential detachment of active materials and rapid capacity degradation during extended ***,we report an ultrafast femtosecond laser strategy to manufacture hierarchical micro/nanostructures on commercial Al and Cu foils as current collectors for high-performance *** hierarchically micro/nanostructured current collectors(HMNCCs)with high surface area and roughness offer strong adhesion to active materials,fast electronic delivery of entire electrodes,significantly improving reversible capacities and cyclic stability of HMNCCs based ***,LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2)(NCM523)cathode with Al HMNCC generated a high reversible capacity after 200 cycles(25%higher than that of cathode with Al CC).Besides,graphite anode with Cu HMNCC also maintained prominent reversible capacity even after 600 ***,the full cell assembled by graphite anode with Cu HMNCC and NCM523 cathode with Al HMNCC achieved high reversible capacity and remarkable cycling stability under industrial-grade mass *** study provides promising candidate for achieving high-performance LIBs current collectors.

Exploring electrode materials with attractive specific capacity and prominent cyclic durability is of the essence for promoting lithium ion batteries(LIBs).In2O3 has shown an extraordinary promise for LIBs with advantageous gravimetric capacity(theoretically 965 mA h g-1) and low working ***,In2O3 still suffers from the inherent weaknesses of metal oxides in practical application,especially low conductivity and incorrigible volume expansion upon the cycling ***,we demonstrate the architecture of metal-organic framework(MOF)-derived In2O3 nanocrystals/hierarchically porous nitrogen-doped carbon composite(In2O3/HPNC) for ultra-stable LIBs *** hierarchically porous structure(micro/meso/macro-pores) with nitrogen doping not only ensures exceptional mechanical strength and accommodates the volume expansion of In2O3 nanocrystals,but also offers electrons and lithium ions efficient interpenetrating pathways to migrate rapidly during charge/discharge ***,In2O3/HPNC exhibits excellent cyclic stability with a high specific capacity of 623 mA h g-1 over2000 cycles at 1000 mA g-1,corresponding to an ultra-low specific capacity decay of 0.017% per cycle(the best among the ln203-based anode for LIBs),and outstanding rate performance,suggesting a critical step toward achieving long-life and high-rate LIBs in practical devices.

Potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)are of academic and economic significance,but still limited by the lack of highly active electrode materials for de-/intercalation of large-radius K ***,an interconnected nitrogen/sulfur co-doped carbon nanosheep bundle(N/S-CSB)was proposed as the potassium ions storage *** rich co-doping of nitrogen/sulfur of N/S-CNB with three-dimensional hierarchical bundled array structure yields distensible interlayer spaces to buffer the volume expansion during K+insertion/extraction,offers more electrochemical active sites to obtain a high specific capacity,and provides efficient channels for fast ion/electron ***,the N/S-CSB anode achieved high reversible specific capacity of 365 mAh/g obtained at 50 mA/g after 200 cycles with a coulombic efficiency(CE)close to 100%,high rate performance and long cycle ***,the in-situ Raman spectra indicated outstanding reaction kinetics of as-prepared N/S-CSB anode.

Light-driven carbon dioxide(CO_(2))capture and utilization is one of the most fundamental reactions in ***,we report the first visible-light-driven photocatalyst-free hydrocarboxylation of alkenes with CO_(2).Diverse acrylates and styrenes,including challenging tri-and tetrasubstituted ones,undergo anti-Markovnikov hydrocarboxylation with high selectivities to generate valuable succinic acid derivatives and 3-arylpropionic *** addition to the use of stoichiometric aryl thiols,the thiol catalysis is also developed,representing the first visible-lightdriven organocatalytic hydrocarboxylation of alkenes with CO_(2).The UV-vis measurements,NMR analyses,and computational investigations support the formation of a novel charge-transfer complex(CTC)between thiolate and acrylate/*** mechanistic studies and density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that both alkene and CO_(2)radical anions might be generated,illustrating the unusual selectivities and providing a novel strategy for CO_(2)utilization.
