Network Coding Cooperation Performance Analysis in Wireless Network over a Lossy Channel, m Users and a Destination Scenario

Network coding (NC), introduced at the turn of the century, enables nodes in a network to combine data algebraically before either sending or forwarding them. Random network coding has gained popularity over the years by combining the received packet randomly before forwarding them, resulting in a complex Jordan Gaussian elimination (JGE) decoding process. The effectiveness of random NC is through cooperation among nodes. In this paper, we propose a simple, low-complexity cooperative protocol that exploits NC in a deterministic manner resulting in improved diversity, data rate, and less complex JGE decoding process. The proposed system is applied over a lossy wireless network. The scenario under investigation is as follows: m users must send their information to a common destination D and to exchange the information between each others, over erasure channels;typically the channels between the users and the destination are worse than the channels between users. It is possible to significantly reduce the traffic among users and destination, achieving significant bandwidth savings, by combining packets from different users in simple, deterministic ways without resorting to extensive header information before being forwarded to the destination and the m users. The key problem we try to address is how to efficiently combine the packets at each user while exploiting user cooperation and the probability of successfully recovering information from all users at D with k m unique linear equations, accounting for the fact that the remaining packets will be lost in the network and there are two transmission stages. Simulation results show the behaviour for two and three transmission stages. Our results show that applying NC protocols in two or three stages decreases the traffic significantly, beside the fact that the proposed protocols enable the system to retrieve the lost packets rather than asking for ARQ, resulting in improved data flow, and less power consumption. Assessment cultivated period and farm yard manure addition on some soil properties, nutrient content and wheat yield under sprinkler irrigation system

This study examined changes in some soil hydrophysical, chemical properties and wheat yield (grain;straw yield, N, P, K, Protein and carbohydrates contents) as trends under two cultivated period 10 and 25 year and Farm Yard manure (FYm) addition under sprinkler irrigation system on a newly reclaimed soils, Nubaria, Beheira Governorate, Egypt. Obtained results noticed that cultivation period has more pronounced effect than FYm addition on soil water content at field capacity, wilting point and available water with increase percent 15.1%, 9.3%;19.0% and 25.7%, 19.5% and 30.0% for FYm and cultivation period comparing with control one. Hydraulic conductivity values were strongly affected by cultivation period and FYm addition and significantly decreased values by about 18.9% and 12.1% in same sequences. Wheat straw content from protein had a superior effect under 25 than 10 years cultivated periods with values 61.9 and 6.7 comparing with control, respectively as affected by FYm addition, while FYm alone improved protein content in straw by about 31.9% comparing with untreated one. Slightly increase in straw protein content was attained relative to the increase of cultivated period by about 7.8%. Nutrients content in grain is more than FYm, where the increase percentage were 5.2%, 13.5%;3.8% and 26.5, 21.3;22.6 comparing cultivated periods 25 with 10 years and FYm addition with control, respectively. FYm individually under two studied cultivated periods is more effective under 10 years (28.0%, 25.2%;15.1%) than the 2nd one (25.1%, 25.2%;15.1%) comparing with untreated FYm plots. While N, P and K content in wheat straw had unclear trend and the increase were 6.8, 23.23;56.5% and 62.9, 6.0;29.8 as a result of FYm addition under 10 and 25 years cultivated periods, respectively. Objective:To investigate the role of water-soluble extract of Salvia fruticosa(Creek sage)(***) leaves in reducing both intrinsic cellular and H_2O_2-induced DNA oxidation in cultured human embryonic kidney 293 *** to the Eastern-mediterranean basin,is widely used as a medicinal herb for treatment of various ***:Dried leaves of *** were extracted in phosphate buffer saline and purified using both vacuum and high pressure *** mL of the preparation contained(7.1±1.0)mg of ***-293 cells were incubated in one set with *** extract in the presence of 0.1 mmol/L H_2O_2,and in the other set with the addition of the extract *** DNA oxidation was measured using fluorescence upon fluorescein isothiocyanate derivarization of 8-oxoguanine *** fluorescence was measured using flow cytometry ***:Cells incubated 3 h with 150μL extract and exposed to 0.1 mmol/L H_2O_2 showed lower intensity of fluorescence,and thus lower DNA ***,cells incubated 3 h with 100μ*** the extract showed lower intensity of fluorescence,and thus lower intrinsic cellular DNA oxidation compared to control(without ***).Conchisions:The results from this study suggest that the water-soluble extract of *** leaves protects against both H_2O_2-induced and intrinsic cellular DNA oxidation in human embryonic kidney 293 cells.

Pure bitumen is not suitable for heavy traffic loads;hence modifiers are used to improve the bitumen ***,cup lump rubber(CLR)has become a preferred modifier due to its outstanding performance and less ***,little is known about the interactions between CLR and ***,this study investigates the behavior of bitumen with *** percentages of CLR(2.5%,5.0%,7.5%,and 10.0%by weight of bitumen)were used to modify conventional 60/70 penetration grade *** modified bitumen was evaluated through different laboratory testing such as dynamic shear rheometer,rotational viscosity,softening point,bending beam rheometer,ductility,and elastic *** testing results show that the addition of CLR increased the bitumen’s rutting resistance by 3 PG grades at high *** low pavement temperatures,the cup lump rubber modified bitumen(CmB)can withstand up to−34℃.Fourier Transform Infrared(FTIR)analysis shows that the Aromaticity index at 1600 cm^(−1) rose as the CLR percentage increased,indicating the formation of a binder with a compact *** is expected to improve the elasticity of bitumen throughπ-π*** Force microscopy(AFm)results showed the Catana phase increased in size and quantity at 5.0%and 7.5%CLR *** contact angle measurement revealed that the binders are hydrophobic and tend to repel the dropped water on the bitumen surface.

Developing a Scoring model to Evaluate Project management Software Packages Based on ISO/IEC Software Evaluation Criterion

Since the mid 1980s, an increasing number of project management software packages (PmSP) have appeared in the market to support project management organizations. Currently there are more than 500 software tools available. They vary widely both in their prices and capabilities. Despite the wide spread of PmSP, project-based organizations are left unguided as to how they should select the most appropriate software tool for their intended business use. The aim of this paper was to develop an evaluation/scoring module suitable for comparing different project management software packages to help select the most appropriate package. The evaluation model is based on the ISO/IEC evaluation criterion that takes into consideration all the necessary features and characteristics required in project management software. The evaluation model will provide software users and project organizations with a useful tool to compare various packages available in the market and select the best that suits their business needs.

Experimental and numerical investigation of a solar eductorassisted low-pressure water desalination system

Greenhouse solar-energy driven desalination technology is potentially well suited for supplying water and small scale irrigation in remote and/or rural areas, and for avoiding over-exploitation of available water resources. The efficiency and productivity of these systems are however low, in part because the heat of evaporation has to be transferred as waste heat to ambient air during condensation. In order to maximize energy regeneration during condensation we propose an educator based system that lowers the evaporation process temperature by reducing pressure. The feasibility of the educator assisted passive solar desalination system is investigated using a detailed computational fluid dynamics analysis complemented by experiments. The study focuses in particular on the ability of the new design to lower the required evaporation temperature and thereby reduce the energy intensity of the process. Two configurations, with open and closed educator, are investigated and a detailed analysis of the thermofluid processes is presented. The configuration with a closed educator installed outside the evaporation chamber shows very promising performance. The proposed system can maintain the maximum temperature and pressure in theevaporation chamber below the desirable temperature and pressure thresholds （30 ℃ and 5 kPa）. The analysis and experimental data also show it is possible to further reduce energy requirements by reducing the motive water flow rates.

Voussoir beam model for lower strong roof strata movement in longwall mining - Case study

The paper presents the influence of varying immediate roof thickness on the lower strong roof strata movement and failure pattern in longwall coal mining with large mining height. The investigation is based on 58 geological drill holes and hydraulic shield pressure measurements around the longwall Panel 42105 of the Buertai mine in Inner mongolia Autonomous Region, China. The longwall Panel 42105 is characterized by relatively soft immediate roof strata of varying thickness superposed by strong strata,herein defined as lower strong roof. A voussoir beam model is adopted to interpret the structural movement of the lower strong roof strata and shield pressure measurements. It is shown that when the immediate roof is relatively thick, the broken overlying lower strong roof tends to form a stable voussoir beam with previously broken layer, thus not exerting high pressure on the hydraulic shield and working face. When the immediate roof is relatively thin, the broken overlying lower strong roof tends to behave as a cantilever beam, thus exerting higher pressure on the hydraulic shield and working face. Comparison of model predictions with measured time-weighted average shield pressure(TWAP) shows good agreement.

Since its initial description, the pathogenesis of the columnar-lined esophagus （CLE） has been surrounded by many controversies. The first controversy is related to the existence of the condition itself. The second controversy centers on whether the CLE is a congenital or an acquired condition. In this article, we review the congenital and acquired theories of development of CLE and discuss the various factors in acquisition of CLE. The bulk of evidence in the literature suggests that CLE is an acquired condition.
