High-Performance Flow Classification of Big Data Using Hybrid CPU-GPU Clusters of Cloud Environments

the network switches in the data plane of software Defined Networking (SDN) are empowered by an elementary process, in which enormous number of packets which resemble big volumes of data are classified into specific flows by matching them against a set of dynamic rules. this basic process accelerates the processing of data, so that instead of processing singular packets repeatedly, corresponding actions are performed on corresponding flows of packets. In this paper, first, we address limitations on a typical packet classification algorithm like tuple Space Search (tSS). then, we present a set of different scenarios to parallelize it on different parallel processing platforms, including Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), clusters of Central Processing Units (CPUs), and hybrid clusters. Experimental results show that the hybrid cluster provides the best platform for parallelizing packet classification algorithms, which promises the average throughput rate of 4.2 Million packets per second (Mpps). that is, the hybrid cluster produced by the integration of Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA), Message Passing Interface (MPI), and OpenMP programming model could classify 0.24 million packets per second more than the GPU cluster scheme. Such a packet classifier satisfies the required processing speed in the programmable network systems that would be used to communicate big medical data.

In the pursuit of advancing imidazolium-based energetic ionic liquids (EILs),the current study is devoted to the synthesis and characterization of 1,3-dibutyl-imidazolium azide ([BBIm][N_(3)]),as a novel member in this ionic liquids *** chemical structure of this EIL was rigorously characterized and confirmed using FtIR spectroscopy,1D,and 2D-NMR *** thermal behavior assessment was conducted through DSC and tGA *** analysis revealed an endothermic glass transition at t_(g)=-61℃,followed by an exothermic degradation event at t_(onset)=311℃.Similarly,tGA thermograms exhibited a one-stage decomposition process resulting in 100% mass loss of the ***,the short-term thermal stability of the azide EIL was investigated by combining the non-isothermal tGA data with the tAS,it-KAS,and VYA/CE isoconversional kinetic ***,the Arrhenius parameters(E_(a)=154 kJ·mol^(-1),Log(A/s^(-1))=11.8) and the most probable reaction model g(a) were *** observed high decomposition temperatures and the significantly elevated activation energy affirm the enhanced thermal stability of the modified *** findings revealed that[BBIm][N_(3)]EIL can be a promising candidate for advanced energetic material application.

the demand for water resources in the area south of the Dead Sea due to continued development, especially at the Arab Potash Company （APC） for production and domestic purposes necessitates that water quality in the area be monitored and evaluated based on the local geology and hydrogeology. the objective of this paper is to monitor seasonal fluctuations of groundwater and to determine how fluctuation in the water levels will affect the groundwater quality. Groundwater levels were found to be influenced by rainfall and pumping of water from the wells for domestic and industrial use. twenty water samples were collected from different wells and analyzed for major chemical constituents both in pre- and post-seasons to determine the quality variation. Chemical constituents are significantly increased after post-season recharge. According to the overall assessment of the area, water quality was found to be useful for drinking, irrigation and industry.

Antimicrobial properties of dental cements modified with zein-coated magnesium oxide nanoparticles

the aim of this study was to test the antimicrobial properties of dental cements modified with magnesium oxide(MgO)***-modified MgO nanoparticles(zMgO)in concentrations(0.0,0.3,0.5,and 1.0%)were mixed with dental cements(Fuji II,Rely X temp E,Ionoglass Cem,Es temp NE,and System P link).Eight discs were fabricated from each zMgO-cement pair for a total of 32 specimens for each *** of the dental cements incorporating zMgO was done by X-ray Diffraction(XRD)and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy(FESEM).the antimicrobial properties of the mixtures were tested using direct contact and agar diffusion assays against Streptococcus mutans,Staphylococcus aureus,Enterococcus faecalis,and Candida *** was analyzed using two-way analysis of variance and LSD post hoc test at 0.05 significance *** spectra showed sharp peaks of zMgO indicating its high crystalline nature,while the amorphous dental cements with zMgO had broad *** analysis showed a uniform distribution of the zMgO nanoparticles in the *** were significant inhibition zone values associated with all concentrations of zMgO-cement mixtures tested compared to controls(pth a dose-response recorded only with Fuji *** density values were significantly lower in zMgO groups compared to controls for all *** effect was most prominent with Rely X against *** and *** cements containing zMgO showed significant antimicrobial properties that were dependent on the specific initial cement substrate.

Constitutive model for methane desorption and diffusion based on pore structure differences between soft and hard coal

this paper aims to improve the accuracy and applicability of gas diffusion mathematical models from coal particles. Firstly, a new constitutive model for gas diffusion from coal particles with tri-disperse pore structure is constructed by considering the difference in characteristics between soft coal and hard *** analytical solution is then derived, that is, the quantitative relationship between gas diffusion rate(Qt/Q_∞) and diffusion time(t), the pore structure parameters of soft coal and hard coal from Juji coal mine are determined. Gas diffusion rules are numerically calculated and investigated by physical simulation methods. Lastly, the applicability of this model is verified. the results show that the homogeneous model only applies to the gas diffusion process of hard coal during the initial 10 min. the calculation results from this model and the physical experimental results of soft coal and hard coal are nearly identical during the initial 30 min.

thermal shocking effect occurs when the coalbed methane(CBM)reservoirs meet liquid nitrogen(LN2)of extremely low *** this study,3D via X-ray microcomputer tomography(μCt)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)are employed to visualize and quantify morphological evolution characteristics of fractures in coal after LN2 thermal shocking ***2 thermal shocking leads to a denser fracture network than its original state with coal porosity growth rate increasing up to 183.3%.the surface porosity of theμCt scanned layers inside the coal specimen is influenced by LN2 thermal shocking which rises from 18.76%to 215.11%,illustrating the deformation heterogeneity of coal after LN2 thermal *** cracking effect of LN2 thermal shocking on the surface of low porosity is generally more effective than that of high surface porosity,indicating the applicability of LN2 thermal shocking on low-permeability CBM reservoir *** characteristics of SEM scanned coal matrix in the coal powder and the coal block after the LN2 thermal shocking presented a large amount of deep and shallow progressive scratch layers,fracture variation diversity(***,propagation,connectivity,irregularity)on the surface of the coal block and these were the main reasons leading to the decrease of the uniaxial compressive strength of the coal specimen.

A rapid and accurate direct measurement method of underground coal seam gas content based on dynamic diffusion theory

Coal seam gas content is frequently measured in quantity during underground coal mining operation and coalbed methane(CBM)exploration as a significant basic *** to the calculation error of lost gas and residual gas in the direct method,the efficiency and accuracy of the current methods are not inadequate to the large area multi-point measurement of coal seam gas *** paper firstly deduces a simplified theoretical dynamic model for calculating lost gas based on gas dynamic diffusion ***,the effects of various factors on gas dynamic diffusion from coal particle are experimentally *** sampling procedure of representative coal particle is ***,a new estimation method of residual gas content based on excess adsorption and competitive adsorption theory is *** results showed that the maximum error of calculating the losing gas content by using the new simplified model is only 4%.Considering the influence of particle size on gas diffusion law,the particle size of the collected coal sample is below 0.25 mm,which improves the measurement speed and reflects the safety representativeness of the *** determination time of gas content reduced from 36 to 3 h/***,the absolute error is 0.15–0.50 m^3/t,and the relative error is within 5%.A new engineering method for determining the coal seam gas content is developed according to the above research.

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal cancer(GICA)is associated with a higher incidence of venous thromboembolism(VtE)compared to other solid tumors,moreover,recurrent VtE and major bleeding(MB)complications during anticoagulation treatment have an associated increase ***-VtE remains a challenging clinical scenario with MB concerns for utilization of direct oral anticoagulants(DOAC),especially with active cancer *** to evaluate patient risk factors,effectiveness(VtE)and safety(MB)of DOACs and low molecular weight heparin(LMWH)in patients with active *** A retrospective chart review of patients receiving DOACs and LMWH with GICA and symptomatic or incidental VtE treated at comprehensive cancer center from November 2013 to February 2017 was *** criteria included active GI cancer diagnosed at any stage or treatment+/-6 mo of VtE diagnosis,whom were prescribed 6 mo or more of DOACs or *** Chi-squared test was used for overall and the Fisher exact test for pairwise comparisons of the proportions of patients experiencing recurrent VtE and MB *** ratios were used to compare the relative odds of the occurrence of the outcome given exposure to the risk *** A total of 144 patients were prescribed anticoagulation,in which 106 fulfilled inclusion criteria apixaban(27.3%),rivaroxaban(34.9%)and enoxaparin(37.7%),and 38 were *** median age was 66.5 years at GICA diagnosis and 67 years at CAVtE event,with 62%males,80%Caucasian,70%stage IV,pancreatic cancer(40.5%),30%Khorana Score(≥3 points),and 43.5%on active ***-four percent of patients completed anticoagulation therapy(range 1 to 43 mo).Recurrent VtE at 6 mo was noted in 7.5%(n=3),6.8%(n=2)and 2.7%(n=1)of patients on enoxaparin,apixaban and rivaroxaban,respectively(all P=NS).MB at 6 mo were 5%(n=2)for enoxaparin,6.8%(n=2)for apixaban and 21.6%(n=8)for rivaroxaban(overall P=0.048;vs LMWH P=0.0423;all other P=NS).Significant predictors of a prim

Insert geometry effects on surface roughness in turning process of AISI D2 steel

Surface roughness is an important parameter for ensuring that the dimension of geometry is within the permitted *** ideal surface roughness is determined by the feed rate and the geometry of the ***,several uncontrollable factors including work material factors,tool angle,and machine tool vibration,may also influence surface *** objective of this study was to compare the measured surface roughness (from experiment) to the theoretical surface roughness (from theoretical calculation) and to investigate the surface roughness resulting from two types of insert,‘C’ type and ‘t’ *** experiment was focused on the turning process,using a lathe machine Colchester *** feed rate was varied within the recommended feed rate *** found that there were large deviations between the measured and theoretical surface roughness at a low feed rate (0.05 mm/r) from the application of both inserts.A work material factor of AISI D2 steel that affects the chip character is presumably responsible for this ***,at a high feed rate (0.4 mm/r),the ‘C’ type insert resulted in 40% lower roughness compared to the ‘t’ type due to the difference in insert *** study shows that the geometry of an insert may result in a different surface quality at a particular level of feed rate.
