Mosquito-borne diseases(MBDs),like malaria and mosquito-borne viruses(MBVs),have caused the deaths of millions of *** threat resides in the variety of transmission modes that they possess,along with the wide selection of favorable hosts,such as humans,cattle,and *** are increasingly gaining a reputation as one of the most dangerous threats to public health in recent *** numbers have been increasing in recent years as a result of multiple factors such as climate change and *** situation highlights the urgent need for actions to mitigate mosquito and MBD pathogen *** the Middle East,many outbreaks of MBDs have been reported in the ***,there are no reports of any endemic episodes of *** Middle East has faced many challenges over the years;however,the Syrian refugee crisis may be strongly related to the spread of infectious *** mass gatherings and high-density populations are common features in the region,it is possible to understand why MBDs can spread *** review summarizes the state of MBDs in the Middle East,highlighting the different types of MBDs that have been reported in the region and discussing how to move forward with controlling their spread and limiting the risks they *** to the data reported by the electronic State Parties Self-Assessment Annual Reporting Tool(e-SPAR),the capacity to anticipate MBVs varies among Middle East ***,the Middle East is on the frontline in the challenge to control a potential public health ***,the countries of the Middle East should be encouraged to improve their health and research capacities to mitigate the threat posed by MBDs.

The emergence and zoonotic transmission of poxviruses in the Middle East have been recognized as complex public health ***,a vast family of DNA viruses,can infect many hosts,including animals and *** Middle East has had multiple epidemics of poxvirus infections(e.g.,Monkeypox,Smallpox,and Camelpox)that have raised concerns owing to their detrimental effects on livestock,wildlife,and sporadic human *** review aims to thoroughly examine the complexity of the epidemiological patterns,intricate genetic diversity,and several contributing factors that support the emergence and zoonotic transmission of poxviruses in the Middle *** aspects of poxviruses contribute to the emergence of endemics and zoonotic breakouts,such as the complex nature of human-animal interactions,environmental changes,and their subtle capacity for viral *** review was compiled in the hopes of contributing to the current understanding of poxvirus biology and its implications for human and animal health in the Middle *** provide a comprehensive overview of the most common poxviruses in the Middle East,including their classification,structure,replication cycle,pathogenesis,route of transmissions,and of how the Middle East has developed ways to mitigate these biological threats.

Ficus carica tree produces a white sap that is traditionally used for the treatment of skin conditions,such as *** carica latex is considered a rich source of proteins and metabolites that have various pharmacological *** of the latex pharmacological activities are attributed to its phenolic content,such as anticancer,antiviral,antioxidant,anti-angiogenic,hepatoprotective,and wound-healing ***,Ficus carica latex contains proteases that are involved in the treatments of skin conditions,such as warts,and display antiparasitic ***,chitinase enzymes and coumarins are isolated from Ficus carica latex and involved in the antimicrobial activities of latex.

Geochemical Assessments and Potential Energy Sources Evaluations Based on Oil Shale and Geothermal Resource in Wadi al-Shallala—North Jordan

Oil shale deposit is considered as one of the fossil fuel sources in Jordan. Despite that, the needs of renewable energy resources become a must in Jordan. Wadi al-Shallala oil shale is investigated in this work for geochemical, petrographic features and hydrocarbon potential as a conventional energy resource. Various petrographic and geochemical techniques were applied. Oil shale resource potential is evaluated for cooling and heating Sal village houses. Geothermal heat pumps, as renewable energy resource in the study area, were simulated for comparison purposes. Results show that Calcite is the main mineral component of oil shale. Magnesite, Ferrisilicate and Zaherite are exhibited in the studied samples. Other trace elements of Zinc, Cobalt and Molybdenum were presented, too. Calcium oxide of 41.01% and Silicon oxide of 12.4% are the main oxides reflected in this oil shale. Petrographic features of the analyzed oil shale found that the primary mineral constituent is micritic calcite, while the secondary minerals include carbonate mud and opaque minerals. Furthermore, it’s found that total organic carbon averages 3.33% while the total carbon content averages 20.6%. ModerateTOCvalues suggest that Wadi al-Shallala oil shale has a good source rock potential. Even though nitrogen and sulfur are of low contents in Wadi al-Shallala oil shale, direct combustion of the reserve for electricity generating will increase CO2 emissions by 2.71 Million m3. Two systems were simulated to cover Sal village cooling and heating demands. The conventional system is compared with geothermal heat pumps. Geothermal heat pumps are found to save 60% of electricity consumption in heating and 50% in cooling systems. The environmental benefits for geothermal system implementation will be a reduction in energy consumption as electricity. The savings in fuel oil will be about 9.35 Million barrels. While the reduction of CO2 emissions will drop to 1.5 Million m3. Results suggest that geothermal

Flavonoids are polyphenols that are found in numerous edible plant species. Data obtained from preclinical and clinical studies suggest that specific flavonoids are chemo-preventive and cytotoxic against various cancers via a multitude of mechanisms. However, the clinical use of flavonoids is limited due to challenges associated with their e ective use, including(1) the isolation and purification of flavonoids from their natural resources;(2) demonstration of the e ects of flavonoids in reducing the risk of certain cancer, in tandem with the cost and time needed for epidemiological studies, and(3) numerous pharmacokinetic challenges(e.g., bioavailability, drug–drug interactions, and metabolic instability). Currently, numerous approaches are being used to surmount some of these challenges, thereby increasing the likelihood of flavonoids being used as chemo-preventive drugs in the clinic. In this review, we summarize the most important challenges and e orts that are being made to surmount these challenges.

Cadmium“Cd”is a toxic pollutant that may present in soil and *** work evaluates:i)the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs“NSAIDs”-bearing water for washing soil containing Cd(Ⅱ),ii)removal of Cd(Ⅱ)from NSAID-bearing water by adsorption onto magnetic graphene oxide which can be easily separated by strong *** studied NSAIDs are aspirin,ketoprofen,ibuprofern and *** Cd(Ⅱ)-NSAIDs complexes were synthesized and characterized by *** was initially oxidized by either nitric acid,or ammonium persulphate method,or Hummer's *** was then deposited on graphene oxide to give the corresponding magnetic graphene oxides(NA-MGO,APSMGO and Hum-MGO,respectively).The effect of the following factors on Cd(Ⅱ)uptake was investigated:NSAIDs type,pH,graphene oxidation method,magnetite:graphene oxide mass ratio in the adsorbent,(Cd(Ⅱ):NSAID)molar *** Cd(Ⅱ)uptake was achieved using“magnetic graphene oxidized with ammonium persulphate where the mass ratio of magnetite to graphene oxide was 2:1”in the presence of diclofenac at *** best Cd(Ⅱ):diclofenac molar ratio was 1:*** maximum adsorption capacity of Cd(Ⅱ)was found to be 83 mg L*** regeneration of the adsorbent was possible by 0.3 M HNO3 solution and 80%of adsorption efficiency was maintained after five *** presence of coexisting ions,80%of the adsorption efficiency was *** NSAIDs-containing waters were used for washing Cd-containing soil;the maximum removal efficiencies of Cd were 18%and 16%using 5 mM diclofenac or 10 mM aspirin,*** diclofenac or aspirin-spiked real pharmaceutical wastewater gave 28%removal of *** optimum adsorption method was used for removal of Cd(Ⅱ)from diclofenac-containing soil-washing water,where two successive adsorptions were needed for complete Cd uptake.
