Erector Spinae Plane Block Combined with Serratus Anterior Plane Block Versus Thoracic Paravertebral Block for Postoperative Analgesia and Recovery After Thoracoscopic Surgery:A Randomized Controlled Non-inferiority Clinical Trial

Objective This study aimed to compare the postoperative analgesia and recovery of ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block combined with serratus anterior plane block(ESPB combined with SAPB)versus thoracic paravertebral block(PVB)after thoracoscopic surgery.Methods Ninety-two patients who underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(VATS)were randomly divided into group S(n=46)and group P(n=46).After anesthesia induction,the same anesthesiologist performed ultrasound-guided ESPB at T5 and T7 levels combined with SAPB at the level of the fifth rib in the midaxillary line in group S and ultrasound-guided PVB at T5 and T7 levels in group P.Patients in both groups were given 40 mL of 0.4%ropivacaine.Eighty-six patients completed the study(group S,n=44;group P,n=42).The morphine consumption,visual analogue scale(VAS)scores at rest and coughing,and frequency of remedial analgesia were recorded at 1,2,4,8,and 24 h postoperatively.Pulmonary function parameters were recorded at 1,4,and 24 h postoperatively,and the quality of recovery(QoR)-15 score at 24 h postoperatively.The adverse effects,duration of chest tube drainage and length of stay were also recorded.Results The morphine consumption at postoperative 4 and 8 h and the incidence of ipsilateral shoulder pain(ISP)were significantly lower in group S than in group P.The QoR-15 questionnaire score at postoperative 24 h was significantly lower in group P than in group S(Phan in group P,with no significant difference found yet.The morphine consumption at other observed times,VAS scores,pulmonary function parameters,frequency of remedial analgesia,duration of chest tube drainage,length of stay,and incidence of other adverse events were comparable between group S and group P.Conclusion Ultrasound-guided ESPB combined with SAPB is non-inferior to PVB in terms of morphine consumption at postoperative 24 h and postoperative recovery.But,this approach can significantly reduce morphine consumpti

Data-driven distribution network topology identification considering correlated generation power of distributed energy resource

This paper proposes a data-driven topology identification method for distribution systems with distributed energy resources(DERs).First,a neural network is trained to depict the relationship between nodal power injections and voltage magnitude measurements,and then it is used to generate synthetic measurements under independent nodal power injections,thus eliminating the influence of correlated nodal power injections on topology identification.Second,a maximal information coefficient-based maximum spanning tree algorithm is developed to obtain the network topology by evaluating the dependence among the synthetic measurements.The proposed method is tested on different distribution networks and the simulation results are compared with those of other methods to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Enhanced sulfidization of azurite surfaces by ammonium phosphate and its effect on flotation

Although azurite is one of the most important copper oxide minerals,the recovery of this mineral via sulfidization-xanthate flotation is typically unsatisfactory.The present work demonstrated the enhanced sulfidization of azurite surfaces using ammonia phosphate((NH_(4))_(3)PO_(4)) together with Na_(2)S,based on micro-flotation experiments,time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry(ToF-SIMS),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),zeta-potential measurements,contact angle measurements,Fourier-transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy,and ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)spectroscopy.Micro-flotation experiments showed that the floatability of azurite was increased following the simultaneous addition of(NH_(4))_(3)PO_(4)and Na_(2)S.ToF-SIMS and XPS analyses demonstrated the formation of a high content of S species on the azurite surface and an increase in the number of Cu(I)species after exposure to(NH_(4))_(3)PO_(4)and Na_(2)S,compared with the azurite-Na_(2)S system.The zeta potential of azurite particles was negatively shifted and the contact angle on the azurite surface was increased with the addition of(NH_(4))_(3)PO_(4)prior to Na_(2)S.These results indicate that treatment with(NH_(4))_(3)PO_(4) enhances the sulfidization of azurite surfaces,which in turn promotes xanthate attachment.FT-IR and UV-Vis analyses confirmed that the addition of(NH_(4))_(3)PO_(4) increased the adsorption of xanthate with reducing the consumption of xanthate during the azurite flotation process.Thus,(NH_(4))_(3)PO_(4) has a beneficial effect on the sulfidization flotation of azurite.

Joint optimization of spectral efficiency and energy efficiency with low-precision ADCs in cell-free massive MIMO systems

In cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems, it is beneficial to apply low-precision analog-to-digital converters(ADCs) to reduce power consumption, hardware cost, and the load on backhaul link. However, low-precision ADCs will result in serious degradation in spectral efficiency(SE). It is important to achieve a good tradeoff between SE and energy efficiency(EE) for cell-free massive MIMO systems with low-precision ADCs. In this paper, we first derive the closed-form expressions of uplink achievable rates with maximal ratio combining(MRC) receiver and zero-forcing(ZF) receiver in cell-free massive MIMO systems. Then we analyze the EE model of cell-free massive MIMO systems. Based on the above analysis, the tradeoff between SE and EE is studied. Moreover, we propose two quantization bit allocation algorithms to optimize the SE and EE jointly from the perspective of multi-objective optimization.One algorithm is based on the deep Q-network(DQN) and the other one is based on the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(NSGA-Ⅱ). The proposed algorithms provide more feasible solutions and achieve better system performance than equal quantization bit allocation algorithm. Numerical results verify the accuracy of the derived closed-form expressions and the effectiveness of the proposed optimization algorithms.

Molecular solid solution of lanthanide-titanium-oxo clusters with enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Molecular solid solutions of metal clusters containing different metal centers with well-defined structures can accurately regulate the HOMO-LUMO gap,but are rarely available.Herein,a series of colorless lanthanide-titanium-oxo clusters Ln_(2)Ti_4(μ_(2)-O)_(2)(μ_(3)-O)_4(Piv)_(10)(THF)_(2)(Ln_(2)Ti_4,Ln = Eu,Gd,Tb,and Ce,HPiv = pivalic acid) were synthesized by the reaction of pivalic acid with Ln(Ac)_(3) and titanium isopropoxide.The light yellow crystal of cluster solid solutions Eu_(2)Ti_(4-x)Cd_(x),containing a mixture of Eu_(2)Ti_4 and Eu_(2)Ti_(3)Cd,was obtained by in situ doping Cd^(2+) and S^(2–).Eu_(2)Ti_(3.92)Cd_(0.08) displays efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity without a co-catalyst,which is up to 2.6 times that of Eu_(2)Ti_4.Femtosecond time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy and spin-polarized density functional calculations showed that the enhanced photocatalytic performance of Eu_(2)Ti_(4-x)Cd_(x) can be attributed to the narrower HOMO-LUMO gap and lower LUMO position than that of Eu_(2)Ti_4.This studyprovides an in situ doping method to realize the simple preparation of cluster solid solution.

Compressed Sensing(CS)is a Machine Learning(ML)method,which can be regarded as a single-layer unsupervised learning method.It mainly emphasizes the sparsity of the model.In this paper,we study an ML-based CS Channel Estimation(CE)method for wireless communications,which plays an important role in Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT)applications.For the sparse correlation between channels in Multiple Input Multiple Output Filter Bank MultiCarrier with Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(MIMO-FBMC/OQAM)systems,a Distributed Compressed Sensing(DCS)-based CE approach is studied.A distributed sparse adaptive weak selection threshold method is proposed for CE.Firstly,the correlation between MIMO channels is utilized to represent a joint sparse model,and CE is transformed into a joint sparse signal reconstruction problem.Then,the number of correlation atoms for inner product operation is optimized by weak selection threshold,and sparse signal reconstruction is realized by sparse adaptation.The experiment results show that the proposed DCS-based method not only estimates the multipath channel components accurately but also achieves higher CE performance than classical Orthogonal Matching Pursuit(OMP)method and other traditional DCS methods in the time-frequency dual selective channels.

Machine learning for carbonate formation drilling: Mud loss prediction using seismic attributes and mud loss records

Due to the complexity and variability of carbonate formation leakage zones, lost circulation prediction and control is one of the major challenges of carbonate drilling. It raises well-control risks and production expenses. This research utilizes the H oilfield as an example, employs seismic features to analyze mud loss prediction, and produces a complete set of pre-drilling mud loss prediction solutions. Firstly, 16seismic attributes are calculated based on the post-stack seismic data, and the mud loss rate per unit footage is specified. The sample set is constructed by extracting each attribute from the seismic trace surrounding 15 typical wells, with a ratio of 8:2 between the training set and the test set. With the calibration results for mud loss rate per unit footage, the nonlinear mapping relationship between seismic attributes and mud loss rate per unit size is established using the mixed density network model.Then, the influence of the number of sub-Gausses and the uncertainty coefficient on the model's prediction is evaluated. Finally, the model is used in conjunction with downhole drilling conditions to assess the risk of mud loss in various layers and along the wellbore trajectory. The study demonstrates that the mean relative errors of the model for training data and test data are 6.9% and 7.5%, respectively, and that R2is 90% and 88%, respectively, for training data and test data. The accuracy and efficacy of mud loss prediction may be greatly enhanced by combining 16 seismic attributes with the mud loss rate per unit footage and applying machine learning methods. The mud loss prediction model based on the MDN model can not only predict the mud loss rate but also objectively evaluate the prediction based on the quality of the data and the model.

Comprehensive Summary 2D materials have attracted intensive attention due to their unique electrical and optical properties associated with their strictly defined low dimensionalities.They provide a wide range of basic building blocks for future electronics and optoelectronics.The chemical vapor deposition(CVD)has been proposed to be efficient to realize the controllable thickness,scalable size,which are necessary for both industrial applications and fundamental researches.Herein,we share our research works to realize the controllable growth of 2D materials.We found that stable growth microenvironment can regulate the growth of 2D materials.Thus,we developed near-steady source supply,space-confined,and additive-assisted passivated growth methods to solve the problem of unstable growth environment caused by uneven source and mass transfer.Then,we developed several strategies to precisely control the parity,separation,and transport of the carriers in 2D materials including fabricating defect-free interface via van der Waals dielectrics,modulating the parity of carriers via ferroelectric-field,and the separation of carriers via band engineering.Toward future development,we highlight the opportunities and challenges inthis field.

Understanding Dual-Polar Group Functionalized COFs for Accelerating Li-Ion Transport and Dendrite-Free Deposition in Lithium Metal Anodes

Lithium metal batteries(LMBs)have attracted wide attentions because of their high theoretical specific capacity and low electrochemical potential.However,the growth of lithium dendrites seriously affects the practical application of LMBs.Thus,the lithium-philic carbonyl and carboxy dualgroup-modified covalent organic framework(COF-COOH)is designed to coat the polypropylene(PP)separator(COF-COOH@PP separator),realizing the regulation of ion transport and uniform lithium deposition.The plentiful and negative charge sites in the COF-COOH can suppress the diffusion of the freely movable lithium salt anion by the electrostatic interaction.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that the COF-COOH possesses the function of anchoring anion and desolvation.Consequently,the Li^(+)transference number(0.7),ion conductivity(0.64 mS cm^(-1)),and desolvating of Li^(+)are obviously improved by using the COF-COOH@PP separator.The modified Li-Li symmetric battery delivers stable cycle for more than 1000 h and lower voltage hysteresis(0.02 V).This dendrite-free deposition strategy holds great promise for practical application of Li metal anodes.

Relative permeability estimation of oil-water two-phase flow in shale reservoir

Oil-water two-phase flow is ubiquitous in shale strata due to the existence of connate water and the injection of fracturing fluid.In this work,we propose a relative permeability model based on a modified Hagen-Poiseuille(HP)equation and shale reconstruction algorithm.The proposed model can consider the nanoconfined effects(slip length and spatially varying viscosity),oil-water distribution,pore size distribution(PSD),total organic matter content(TOC),and micro-fracture.The results show that the increasing contact angles of organic matters(OM)and inorganic minerals(iOM)increase the relative permeability of both oil and water.As the viscosity ratio increases,the relative permeability of oil phase increases while that of water phase decreases,due to the different water-oil distribution.The effective permeability of both oil and water decreases with the increasing TOC.However,the relative permeability of water phase increases while that of oil phase decreases.The increasing number and decreasing deviation angle of micro-fracture increase the effective permeability of oil and water.However,microfracture has a minor effect on relative permeability.Our model can help understand oil-water twophase flow in shale reservoirs and provide parameter characterization for reservoir numerical simulation.
