The effects of Y pre-alloying on the in-situ dispersoids of ODS Co Cr Fe Mn Ni high-entropy alloy

Oxide dispersion strengthened CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloys(ODS-HEAs)were prepared using two different powder preparation methods classified by yttrium addition strategy to investigate the effects of in-situ and ex-situ oxide dispersoid formation on the microstructure and mechanical *** micro structural analysis was carried out by X-ray diffraction(XRD),electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),atom probe tomography(APT),and small-angle neutron scattering(SANS).Cryo-milled powder analysis,grain structure evolution after spark plasma sintering,dispersoid characteristics,and matrix/dispersoid interface structure analysis of the insitu and ex-situ dispersoids within the high-entropy alloy(HEA)matrix were *** in-situ dispersoid formation was dominantly observed in the Y-alloyed ODS-HEA through the construction of a coherent interface relationship with complex chemical composition,leading to an increase in the Zener pinning forces on the grain boundary ***-HEA with in-situ oxide dispersoids enhanced the formation of ultrafine-grained structures with an average diameter of 330 nm at a sintering temperature of 1173 *** study shows that the Y pre-alloying method is efficient in achieving fine coherent dispersoids with an ultra fine-grained structure,resulting in an enhancement of the tensile strength of the CoCrFeMnNi HEA.

Clinical features of strabismus and nystagmus in bilateral congenital cataracts

Pancreatic parenchymal injection of ethanol and octreotide to induce focal pancreatic fibrosis in rats: Strategies to eliminate postoperative pancreatic fistula

Background: Postoperative pancreatic fistula(POPF) is more likely to occur in a soft pancreas compared to a hard pancreas in which fibrosis has progressed. There is almost no leakage at the anastomosis site or cut surface of a hard pancreas. The aim of this study was to induce localized fibrosis at the cut surface of the pancreas in a rat ***: Thirty-six rats were divided into three groups(group S: normal saline group; group E: ethanol group; and group O: octreotide group). Each rat was directly injected with a particular compound at the duodenal lobe of the pancreatic parenchyma. Each group was divided into three subgroups according to the time of post-injection sacrifice(1, 2, or 4 weeks). The hardness, suture holding capacity(SHC), and histological fibrosis grade of each pancreas were ***: The hardness, SHC, and fibrosis grade of groups E and O were increased at week 1, with greater increases in group E(all P hanol and octreotide increased pancreatic fibrosis. Unlike octreotide, ethanol provoked localized fibrosis that was maintained over time. It is expected that ethanol injection could eliminate POPF during pancreatic surgery.

To accelerate the discovery of materials through computations and experiments,a well-established protocol closely bridging these methods is *** introduce a high-throughput screening protocol for the discovery of bimetallic catalysts that replace palladium(Pd),where the similarities in the electronic density of states patterns were employed as a screening *** first-principles calculations,we screened 4350 bimetallic alloy structures and proposed eight candidates expected to have catalytic performance comparable to that of *** experiments demonstrate that four bimetallic catalysts indeed exhibit catalytic properties comparable to those of ***,we discover a bimetallic(Ni-Pt)catalyst that has not yet been reported for H_(2)O_(2) direct *** particular,Ni_(61)Pt_(39) outperforms the prototypical Pd catalyst for the chemical reaction and exhibits a 9.5-fold enhancement in cost-normalized *** protocol provides an opportunity for the catalyst discovery for the replacement or reduction in the use of the platinum-group metals.

Optimal Control of a Mackerel-Mimicking Robot for Energy Efficient Trajectory Tracking

A robotic fish, BASEMACK1, is designed and fabricated by mimicking the shape of a live mackerel. Three DC servo-motors are serially linked together and actuated to mimic the mackerel＇s Carangiform motion. Hydrodynamic characteristics of a fish-mimetic test model are experimentally identified and utilized in order to numerically simulate fish swimming. The discrete set of kinematic and dynamic parameters are obtained by considering required horizontal and lateral forces and minimum energy consumption. Using the optimized parameter set, optimal control of the robot is studied.

Synthesis of crosslinked polystyrene particles by seeded batch polymerization with monomer absorption

A highly crosslinked, monodispersed polystyrene（PS） particle was prepared by a seeded batch dispersion polymerization with a monomer absorption method. Prior to polymerization, 1,9 lam monodispersed PS seed particles were treated under an optimum condition of monomer absorption. The effects of divinylbenzebe（DVB） concentration and polymerization temperature were examined for styrene（in PS seed）/styrene（in the second stage） mass ratio of 1：1 in the medium range of EtOH/water mass ratio of 100/0-80/20 and 2.3 μm uniform crosslinked PS particles containing 15%-20% （mass fraction） DVB were prepared at 60-70 ℃. The results show that monomer absorption before the second stage of polymerization is more effective to prepare highly crosslinked monodispersed PS particles.

A Study on the Effects of the Intake Port Configurations on the Swirl Flow Generated in a Small D.I. Diesel Engine

This paper investigates the effect of intake port configuration on the swirl that is generated within a direct injection(D.I.) diesel engine. The in-cylinder flow characteristics are known to have significant effects on fuel-air mixing, combustion, and emissions. To clarify how to intensify the swirl flow, a swirl control valve(SCV) and a bypass were selected as design parameters for enhancing the swirl flow. The optimal intake port shape was also chosen as a parameter needed to efficiently generate a high swirl ratio. The results revealed that a key factor in generating a high swirl ratio was to control the intake airflow direction passing through the intake valve seat. Further, the swirl intensity was influenced by changing the distance between the helical and tangential ports, and the swirl flow was changed by the presence of a bypass near the intake valve seat. Additionally, the effect of intake port geometry on the in-cylinder flow field was investigated by using a laser sheet visualization method. The experimental results showed a correlation of swirl ratio and mass flow rate. In addition, we found that employing the bypass was an effective method to increase swirl ratio without sacrificing mass flow rate.

The influence of aging treatment on the microstructure,mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of Cu-0.5 wt pct Be alloy for connector material applications was *** properties of mechanical strength and electrical conductivity increase with increasing aging temperature and *** of the aged Cu-Be alloy revealed that grain size and fraction of low angle and high angle grain boundary were not greatly changed;however,transmission electron microscopy （TEM） analysis exhibited that beryllides precipitation （CoBe and NiBe） with a size of 50 nm were distributed in *** was,therefore concluded that these beryllide precipitates improved the mechanical strength and also it was favor in improvement of electrical conductivity.
