Online Postcolumn Indirect Detection for Determination of Ibandronate in Pharmaceutical Tablets by HPLC/DAD

Ibandronate sodium monohydrate is a highly polar aliphatic compound that belongs to the bisphosphonate class,a widely used bone resorption *** aliphatic nature of ibandronate precludes direct photometric detection and its high polar-ity urged analysts to use ion-pairing agents in the mobile phase to promote retention in reversed-phase *** this work,a reversed-phase method for determination of ibandronate sodium monohydrate in pharmaceutical tablets is introduced by employing an online postcolumn ligand exchange reaction to enable photometric *** method offers for the first time the ability to separate the drug from its well-known impurities on conventional reversed-phase *** detection reac-tion depends on the ability of ibandronate and its degradation products to displace salicylate in the iron(III)salicylate complex,forming various colorless iron(III)complexes and showing a negative chromatographic signal for ibandronate and its degra-dants atλ_(max)=525 *** chromatographic separation was achieved using a Hypersil BDs C_(8) column(5μm particle size,150 mm×4.6 mm i.d.)and a mobile phase consisting of a mixture of aqueous formate buffer pH 3(pH 3,5 mM)and methanol in a ratio of 80:20%(v/v),delivered at a flow rate of 0.8 mL/*** postcolumn iron(III)salicylate reagent was prepared at 250μM in aqueous formate buffer,delivered using a syringe pump at a flow rate of 0.5 mL/*** proposed method was validated as per the guidelines of the International Conference on Harmonization Q2(R1)and was found linear over the range 40-120μg/mL(r=0.9995)with a limit of detection of 3.19μg/*** to currently reported methods,the proposed method is considerably simpler,faster,cheaper,and adequately sensitive and makes use of the most popular LC detectors.

Oxidation Resistance of the Aluminide Coating Formed on Carbon steels

Low and medium carbon steels were aluminized by the pack aluminizing technique using halideactivated pure-Al and Fe-Al packs. The effect of mixture composition, aluminizing temperatureand time and C content of the steel substrate on the structure and thickness of the aluminidelayer, and on the oxidation resistance was investigated. The optimum oxidation resistance canbe achieved with a low carbon steel substrate when the intermetallic phases Fe3Al and FeAlform the surface of the aluminide layer. In this case, the Al concentration at the surface of thealuminide coating is at least ≥15 wt pct. Formation of high Al concentration phases (FeAl3 andFe2Al5) during aluminizing should be avoided as they tend to embrittle the aluminide layer andreduce its oxidation resistance.

The motivation for this research comes from the gap found in discovering the common ground for medical context learning through analytics for different purposes of diagnosing,recommending,prescribing,or treating patients for uniform phenotype features from patients’*** authors of this paper while searching for possible solutions for medical context learning found that unified corpora tagged with medical nomenclature was missing to train the analytics for medical context ***,here we demonstrated a mechanism to come up with uniform NER(Named Entity Recognition)tagged medical corpora that is fed with 14407 endocrine patients’data set in Comma separated Values(CsV)format diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and comorbidity *** other corpus is of ICD-10-CM coding scheme in text format taken from ***-10-CM corpus is to be tagged for understanding the medical context with uniformity for which we are conducting different experiments using common natural language programming(NLP)techniques and frameworks like TensorFlow,Keras,Long short-Term Memory(LsTM),and *** our preliminary experiments,albeit label sets in form of(instance,label)pair were tagged with sequential()model formed on *** and Bi-LsTM NLP *** maximum accuracy achieved for model validation was 0.8846.

Improvement in sensing Accuracy of an OFDM-Based W-Band system

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform is promising to converge communications and sensing functionalities for future wireless applications. This paper presents a novel method to improve the OFDM-based sensing accuracy by estimating the delay/Doppler leakages in the channel matrix, which is constructed by the received and the transmitted OFDM symbols. Both simulation and proof-of-concept experiment validate the proposed method for sensing *** experiment uses a heterodyne W-band system at 97 GHz to transmit and receive an OFDM waveform of bandwidth 3.9 *** achieve an improvement in sensing accuracy by an order of magnitude which is significant for OFDM-based converged systems.

Machine Learning(ML)-based prediction and classification systems employ data and learning algorithms to forecast target ***,improving predictive accuracy is a crucial step for informed *** the healthcare domain,data are available in the form of genetic profiles and clinical characteristics to build prediction models for complex tasks like cancer detection or *** ML algorithms,Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs)are considered the most suitable framework for many classification *** network weights and the activation functions are the two crucial elements in the learning process of an *** weights affect the prediction ability and the convergence efficiency of the *** traditional settings,ANNs assign random weights to the *** research aims to develop a learning system for reliable cancer prediction by initializing more realistic weights computed using a supervised setting instead of random *** proposed learning system uses hybrid and traditional machine learning techniques such as support Vector Machine(sVM),Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA),Random Forest(RF),k-Nearest Neighbour(kNN),and ANN to achieve better accuracy in colon and breast cancer *** system computes the confusion matrix-based metrics for traditional and proposed *** proposed framework attains the highest accuracy of 89.24 percent using the colon cancer dataset and 72.20 percent using the breast cancer dataset,which outperforms the other *** results show that the proposed learning system has higher predictive accuracies than conventional classifiers for each dataset,overcoming previous research ***,the proposed framework is of use to predict and classify cancer patients ***,this will facilitate the effective management of cancer patients.

Effect of voltage-gated sodium channels blockers on motility and viability of human spermin vitro

Objective:To test the effect of voltage-gated sodium channels (VGsCs) blockers on the motility and viability of human spermin-vitro and to evaluate the tested compounds as potential contact ***: sperm samples were obtained from healthy non-smoking volunteers of age 25-30 years who had not taken any drug 3 months before and during the course of the study. The effect of VGsCs blockers evaluated from two pharmacological classes including antiarrhythmic (amiodarone, procainamide and disopyramide) and antiepileptic (carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenytoin, and lamotrigine) drugs. They were tested on thein-vitro motility and viability of human sperm using Computer Assisted semen ***:All tested drugs except oxcarbazepine showed dose dependent inhibition of total motility with significant reduction (Ps of drugs that reduced total sperm motility to 50% of control (half maximal inhibitory concentration) were 2.76, 14.16 and 20.29 μM for phenytoin, lamotrigine and carbamazepine, respectively;and 2.53, 5.32 and 0.37 μM for amiodarone, procainamide and disopyramide, respectively. The anti-motility effects were reversible to various degrees. There was statistically insignificant difference in the inhibition of sperm viability among amiodarone, procainamide and disopyramide. Phenytoin demonstrated the most potent spermicidal ***:VGsCs blockers have significant adverse effects onin-vitro motility of human spermatozoa. soin-vivo studies are required to determine their potential toxicological effects on human semen quality, which is an important factor regarding fertility. Moreover, these drugs have the potential to be developed into contact spermicidal.

Liver transplantation in patients with incidental hepatocellular carcinoma/cholangiocarcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma： a single-center experience

BACKGROUND： Reports of fiver transplantation （LT） in patients with mixed hepatocellular carcinoma/cholangiocarcinoma （HCC/CC） and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma （ICC） are modest and have been mostly retrospective after pathological categorization in the setting of presumed HCC. some studies suggest that patients undergoing LT with small and unifocal ICC or mixed HCC/CC can achieve about 40%-60% 5-year post-transplant survival. The study aimed to report our experience in patients undergoing LT with explant pathology revealing HCC/CC and ICC. METHODs： From a prospectively maintained database, we performed cohort analysis. We identified 13 patients who underwent LT with explant pathology revealing HCC/CC or ICC. REsULTs： The observed recurrence rate post-LT was 31% （4/13） and overall survival was 85%, 51%, and 51% at 1, 3 and 5 years, respectively. Disease-free survival was 68%, 51%, and 41% at 1, 3 and 5 years, respectively. In our cohort, four patients would have qualified for exception points based on updated HCC Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network imaging guidelines. CONCLUsIONs： Lesions which lack complete imaging characteristics of HCC may warrant pre-LT biopsy to fully elucidate their pathology. Identified patients with early HCC/CC or ICC may benefit from LT if unresectable. Additionally, incorporating adjunctive perioperative therapies such as in the case of patients undergoing LT with hilar cholangiocarcinoma may improve outcomes but this warrants further investigation.

Hand gesture recognition (HGR) is used in a numerous applications,including medical health-care, industrial purpose and sports *** have developed a real-time hand gesture recognition system using inertialsensors for the smart home application. Developing such a model facilitatesthe medical health field (elders or disabled ones). Home automation has alsobeen proven to be a tremendous benefit for the elderly and disabled. Residentsare admitted to smart homes for comfort, luxury, improved quality of life,and protection against intrusion and burglars. This paper proposes a novelsystem that uses principal component analysis, linear discrimination analysisfeature extraction, and random forest as a classifier to *** have achieved an accuracy of 94% over the publicly benchmarked HGRdataset. The proposed system can be used to detect hand gestures in thehealthcare industry as well as in the industrial and educational sectors.
