Analyzing static and dynamic problems including composite structures has been of high significance in research efforts and industrial applications.In this article,equivalent single layer approach is utilized for dynamic finite element procedures of 3D composite beam as the building block of numerous composite structures.In this model,both displacement and strain fields are decomposed into cross-sectional and longitudinal components,called consistent geometric decomposition theorem.Then,the model is discretized using finite clement procedures.Two local coordinate systems and a global one are defined to decouple mechanical degrees of freedom.Furthermore,from the viewpoint of consistent geometric decomposition theorem,the transformation and element mass matrices for those systems are introduced here for the first time.The same decomposition idea can be used for developing element stiffiness matrix.Finally,comprehensive validations are conducted for the theory against experimental and numerical results in two case studies and for various conditions.

Radiopharmaceutical therapy(RPT)has shown great promise in the treatment of various cancers.However,the current approach is a"one size fits all"model,which results in varied patient responses,and there is a need for personalized RPT(Fig.S1 online).This personalized approach requires a better understanding of the physics,biology,radiobiology,pharmacology,immunology,chemistry,and imaging involved in RPT[1].Multidisciplinary research using experimental,numerical,and simulation platforms would be key to accelerating progress in this area.

This paper investigates the Effect of Metal Oxide Arrester (MOV) on the Chaotic Behaviour of power transformers considering nonlinear model for core loss of transformer. The paper contains two parts. In part (1): effect of nonlinear core on the onset of chaotic ferroresonance in a power transformer is evaluated. The core loss is modeled by a third order power series in voltage. in part (2): Effect of Metal Oxide Arrester(MOV) on results in part (1) will be studied. The results reveal that the presence of the arrester has a mitigating effect on ferroresonant chaotic overvoltages. resulted bifurcation diagrams and phase plane diagrams have also been delivered.

Conventional diverting techniques and novel fibr-assisted selfdiverting system in carbonate reservoir acidizing with successful case studies

Conventional diverting techniques may not be useful,and the use of the advanced and well-documented diverting technique is needed to overcome the complexity and heterogeneity of carbonate reservoirs.Nowadays,there have been a lot of materials and techniques utilized for acid diversion.This paper aimed to consider various utilization of fiber-assisted self as the diverting system in acidifying carbonate reservoirs.One of the main reasons for its ability to overcome uncertainty is that the fiber itself is an inherent property,allowing for an automatic diversion adjustment downhole.When a media with infinite permeability,such as a perforation tunnel or natural fracture,is filled and bridged with a material of finite permeability such as degradable fiber,this creates a temporary skin to injectivity in that zone.This is a powerful concept,as it is a way,despite uncertainty from a lack of logging data or uncertainty in the data itself,of dampening the reservoir’s natural permeability contrast.It does not rely on petrophysical certainty to design a successful treatment.

Resternotomy Following Sternal Bone Cement Implantation: A Great Challenge for Cardiac Surgeons

Background: Median sternotomy and resternotomy is the standard technique for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valvular heart disease, and congenital heart disease. Despite ad-vances in many areas of cardiac surgical procedures, there is a lack of innovation in sternal closure techniques. Several studies have examined sternal closure techniques including wiring, interlocking, plate and screw, and bone cementation. However, none of them achieved widespread acceptability. On one hand, serious post-operative complications are associated with the use of wiring and plating techniques in high-risk patients. The aim of this study is showing challenges and difficulties with resternotomy in patient with a history of previous cardiac surgery and usage of biologic bone cements. Case Report: The case was a 56-year-old woman with a history of previous sternotomy for mitral and aortic valve replacement (mechanical sj. No. 29 and mechanical sj. No. 21, respectively) using biologic bone cement (Kryptonite TM, Doctors Research Group Inc.) for her osteopenic sternum. Four years after the mitral valve replacement (MVR), she was referred to emergency department with a thrombosis at the mitral valve. She under-went emergent cardiac surgery with a very difficult resternotomy under femoral cannulation support. Conclusion: Resternotomy in patients with previous sternotomy with Kryptonite bone cements or calcium phosphate cements (CPC) is safe and can be done similar to other cardiac reoperations. It seems that reoperation in this patients does not increase the risk of bleeding, morbidity, and mortality.
