建筑的物理边界总是与它的周围环境产生互动。无论是谁建造了一栋宏大的建筑或一栋卑微的房子,都会来表达其对建筑内、外空间的整合关系。关于建筑内、外空间关系的关注已经持续了几千年,一直影响着亚洲传统民居的建筑哲理,尤其是像印尼和中国这两个有着悠久历史联系的国家,这两个国家的人民都特别专注于解读及利用了内、外空间的整合关系。本文以黑川纪章(Kisho Kurokawa)提出的灰色建筑哲学为理论基础,并通过对中国与印尼传统民居的平行比较研究,追溯了两个国家的建筑特色与人们日常生活方面的相似和差异,来探讨其中“中介空间”对内部和外部空间的整合。此外,本文试图重新发现传统生活中内外空间的意义,一个有别于现代生活中普遍建筑语言所主导的意义。

Validation of the PAGE-b score to predict hepatocellular carcinoma risk in caucasian chronic hepatitis b patients on treatment

bACKGROuND Several risk scores have been developed to predict hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)risk in chronic hepatitis b(CHb)*** majority of risk scores are based on pretreatment variables that are no longer considered risk factors for HCC development due to the suppression of hepatitis b virus replication early in the course of potent antiviral treatment in most *** PAGE-b score,which is based on platelet levels,age and sex,has been shown to accurately predict HCC risk in CHb patients on antiviral treatment in various *** We aimed to evaluate the PAGE-b score in predicting HCC risk in Turkish CHb patients on antiviral *** In this study,we recruited 742 CHb patients who had been treated with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate or entecavir for≥1 *** groups were determined according to the PAGE-b scores as follows:≤9,low;10-17,moderate and≥18,*** cumulative HCC incidences in each risk group were computed using Kaplan-Meier analysis and were compared using the log-rank *** accuracy of the PAGE-b score in predicting HCC risk was evaluated using a timedependent area under the receiver operating characteristic(AuROC)curve at all study time *** and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to assess the risk factors for HCC *** The mean follow-up time was 54.7±1.2 *** was diagnosed in 26 patients(3.5%).The cumulative HCC incidences at 1,3,5 and 10 years were 0%,0%,0%and 0.4%in the PAGE-b low-risk group;0%,1.2%,1.5%and 2.1%in the PAGE-b moderate-risk group;and 5%,11.7%,12.5%,and 15%in the PAGE-b high-risk group,respectively(log-rank PuROCs of the PAGE-b score in the prediction of HCC development at 1,3,5 and 10 years were 0.977,0.903,0.903 and 0.865,*** the multivariable analysis,older age,male sex,lower platelet levels,presence of cirrhosis,and absence of alanine aminotransferase normalization at month 6 were associated with HCC development(all P<0.05).C

Statistical Examination of Frost Characterization: A Case of Global Warming Impact in Jordan

Radiation and advection frost are common in Jordan as well as other neighboring countries as they face several frost waves each year during the late months of winter. Recently, many frost episodes hit the valley and damaged the crops that were compensated by millions of dollars by the Jordanian Government. This manuscript addresses and characterizes frost, and assesses the role of global warming in impacting frost in terms of its frequency, severity, and total number of frost days per year. A comprehensive statistical approach was used. The paper indicates that frost waves will continue to hit in the near future regardless of the fact that Earth is moving towards warmer conditions. Agricultural and financial authorities should be urged to minimize frost damage by considering installing wind fans in Jordan valley as an active method in addition to implementing good farm practices (as a passive methods where deemed necessary).

Electrochemical Characterization of Streptavidin-HRP Immobilized on Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes for biosensor Applications

In this work, we used gold labeled multiwall carbons nanotubes for peroxidase biosensor. The gold labeling on multiwall carbon nanotubes can be achieved with Pressure vapor Deposition (PVD) technique. The obtained carbon nanotubes can be immobilized on gold electrode with the airbrushing technique. The stability and the molecular structure of the labeled multiwall carbon nanotubes were characterized with cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy and Fourrier Transform Infra-Red spectroscopy (FTIR). It shows a higher conductivity and a good stability in water interface. For streptavidin-HRP immobilization, the labeled gold nanotubes were activated over night with thiol-acid (16 carbons). An activation procedure was achieved with EDC/NHS for HRP-streptavidin immobilization. The development of biosensor for H2O2 detection was observed with the impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry techniques. This method could be used to determine total H2O2 concentration in the range 4 μM - 160 μM. The results show that the biosensor response depends on the conductivity and the large surface-to-volume ratio attained with multiwall carbon nanotubes. The response of the developed biosensors was reproducible with higher stability.

Case of conventional/classic type of Erythema abigne (Eai) as a quiz. The diagnosis is straightforward with satisfying the diagnostic “H triad”: 1) history of cold weather, 2) heat source exposures-prolonged and or frequent, and 3) hyperpigmentation-reticulate dusky erythematous and confined to the exposed sites, then the diagnosis is outstanding, and a 4th H;confirmatory his topathological assay may be avoided. Otherwise, in case of confusion by missing any h of the h triad the 4th H should be seeked. Eai is frequently found in literature as a clinical quiz, but it is in fact not prevalent, though in started recently to report a spike with the advent of global weather changes and modern laptop technology. The different categories of Eai-s depending on the different causes are elaborated here in the paper, and the different complications as well. This quiz case in published as a reminder of Eai, in order to raise the attention of clinicians to this rare transforming dermatosis, as Eai might herald a cancer, or it may potentially evolve to a cancer, hence;it fluctuates between two cancers, thus it worth alarming.

Double Incomplete Pyloromyotomy (A. Ezzat Technique): A New Technique for Infantile Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis: Preliminary Study

background-Purpose: The study aimed to see the outcome of Double Incomplete Pyloromyotomy as new technique for surgical management of infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (IHPS). Methods: This study was conducted in pediatric surgery unite, Zagazig university Hospital, Egypt. Fifteen patients were included in this study (11 male and 4 female) with IHPS from January 2012 to January 2013. under general anesthesia, two longitudinal separated incisions at different planes as pyloromyotomy. Results: Postoperative vomiting and weight gain were recorded. Follow up period was 3 months. Vomiting improved within first 48 hours then stopped after that. Weight gain significantly increased after theoperation when compared preoperatively. Conclusion: Double Incomplete Pyloromyotomy is a new, safe and effective procedure for treatment of infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis.

In this work we used a new organic biodegradable flocculants which is the cactus cladodes juice in order to recycle water from phosphate schlamms. This flocculants has enabled us to increase the settling velocity of the schlamms so consequently the water recycled degree. The study was conducted on an industrial sample of phosphates schlamms from Khouribga phosphates washing plant. The study was about the influence of concentration, pH, and velocity gradient with cactus extract leads to satisfactory results in term of settling decantation, and in water recycling degree which is 93%.

Study of Surface and Subsurface Defects in Materials by Photothermal Deflection Technique: Theory and Experience

Photothermal deflection is widely used to study defects in materials. both high spatial resolution and high sensitivity are required to detect them. In order to improve the theoretical model in the case of uniform heating (one dimensional heat treatment) we have chosen to heat the sample by a halogen lamp. The sample which contains a known surface and subsurface defects is first covered by a thin graphite layer and placed in air. The sample fixed on a vertical holder is able to move in the x and y directions thanks a two stepper motors. The measurement showed excellent agreement between experimental and simulation results.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of the modified systemic inflammation score(mSIS)on prognosis in patients diagnosed with ***:In this retrospective cross-sectional study,181 patients were selected and divided into two groups:patients with and without admission to the intensive care unit(ICu).An albumin level of≥4.0 g/dL and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio(LMR)of≥3.4 was scored 0,an albumin level ofbumin level ofuded in this *** these patients,61 were excluded and 181 patients *** the 181 participants,94(51.9%)were female,and the median age was 61(51,75)*** mSIS scale ranged from 0 to *** analysis,the median score was 0(0,0)in the non-ICu group and 2(0,2)in the ICu group(Pblood cell,lymphocyte counts,and albumin levels were lower in the ICu group(Pbuminemia(OR=49.921,95%CI=1.843-1352.114,P=0.020),AST elevation(OR=3.939,95%CI=1.017-15.261,P=0.047),and mSIS=2(OR=5.853,95%CI=1.338-25.604,P=0.019)were identified as independent predictors of ICu ***:The mSIS can be used as an independent parameter for establishing the intensive care needs of patients with COVID-19.
