Photocatalytic parameters and kinetic study for degradation of dichlorophenol-indophenol (DCPIP) dye using highly active mesoporous TiO_2 nanoparticles

Highly active mesoporous TiO_2 of about 6 nm crystal size and 280.7 m^2/g specific surface areas has been successfully synthesized via controlled hydrolysis of titanium butoxide at acidic medium. It was characterized by means of XRD（X-ray diffraction）, SEm（scanning electron microscopy）, TEm（transmission electron microscopy）, FT-IR（Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy）, TGA（thermogravimetric analysis）, DSC（differential scanning calorimetry） and BET（Brunauer–Emmett–Teller） surface area. The degradation of dichlorophenol-indophenol（DCPIP） under ultraviolet（UV） light was studied to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of samples. The effects of different parameters and kinetics were investigated. Accordingly, a complete degradation of DCPIP dye was achieved by applying the optimal operational conditions of 1 g/L of catalyst, 10 mg/L of DCPIP, pH of 3 and the temperature at 25 ± 3°C after 3 min under UV irradiation. meanwhile, the Langmuir–Hinshelwood kinetic model described the variations in pure photocatalytic branch in consistent with a first order power law *** results proved that the prepared TiO_2 nanoparticle has a photocatalytic activity significantly better than Degussa P-25.

Wheat （Triticum aestivum） seeds were treated with atmospheric pressure gliding arc discharge plasmas to investigate the effects on water absorption, seed germination rate, seedling growth and yield in wheat. The surface architectures and functionalities of the seeds were found to modify due to plasma treatments. 6 rain treatment was provided 95%-100% germination rate. For the treatment duration of 3 and 9 rain the growth activity, dry matter accumulation, leaves chlorophyll contents, longest spikes, number of spikes/spikelet and total soluble protein content in shoots were improved. The grain yield of wheat was increased ,--20% by 6 min treatment with H2O/O2 plasma with respect to control.

Refinement and estimation of asphalt flow number using partial load history

The effect of tertiary flow length on asphalt concrete(AC) flow number(FN) has been studied in this paper. The standard FN test(AASHTO T378) designated by American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials(AASHTO) is currently among the widely adopted test for assessing the rutting performance of AC mixtures. The standard adopts the Fracken model(Fm) for fitting the permanent deformation curve(PDC), prior to FN estimation. The FN was observed to vary as tertiary flow progresses. The Fm, along with other PDC models(mFm-1 and mFm-2) obtained by modifying the Fm, was utilized to analyze and minimized this variation. Variation of FN resulted because of mathematization of the PDC data. Instead of representing the actual initiating point of permanent shear deformation of the strain data, estimated values of FN were observed to indicate the inflection points of the fitted parent curve. As per standard FN range suggested by AASHTO T378, the observed variation in FN leads to the situation, where a single asphalt mix specimen can be regarded as appropriate for two different traffic levels, depending on the tertiary flow point at which the test is terminated. Supplementary steps in the FN estimation methods were proposed for refinement of FN values. For the refinement and further standardization of FN value and FN test respectively, FN:T(flow number to test duration ratio) has been recognized as the key and most simple solution. Two potential options for employing FN:T in the estimation of FN have also been highlighted. Several important correlations have been reported herein as well. Comparatively, mFm-1 was found to be more robust in FN:T curve utilization than mFm-2 and Fm.

multiple Phase Change materials for Performance Enhancement of a Solar Dryer with Double Pass Collector

The fluctuation in drying temperature influences the food products’quality and drying time significantly during the drying process using an indirect solar *** of the effective methods to reduce these variations in the temperature is based on thermal storage materials to control the drying *** experimental investigation is presented in this study to evaluate the performance of an indirect solar dryer with air double pass using multiple phase change materials(PCm)as thermal storage *** PCms with different melting points are used to store the available heat energy during peak sunshine periods and reduce the drying temperature *** tests on a food product sample are conducted in three cases,the first was without PCms using natural *** second and third cases are based on forced convection with and without using multiple PCms under Baghdad city *** results showed that;approximately a steady temperature of hot drying air was obtained during relatively low ambient temperatures when the dryer was incorporated with multiple *** drying time of the product sample for the natural,forced convection without PCms and forced with PCms was 87,72 and 47 h,*** higher performance of the dryer was for the forced convection with *** reduction percentage in drying time was about 17.2%and 46%for the forced convection without and with PCms respectively compared with natural *** average drying rate for the natural,forced without PCms and forced convection with PCms was 0.0093,0.0135 and 0.0172 kg/h,*** enhancement in thermal efficiency of the solar collector and drying chamber with multiple PCms was 43%and 25.5%,respectively,compared with a typical solar dryer.

Optimized Generative Adversarial Networks for Adversarial Sample Generation

Detecting the anomalous entity in real-time network traffic is a popular area of research in recent *** few researches have focused on creating malware that fools the intrusion detection system and this paper focuses on this *** are using Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Networks(DCGAN)to trick the malware classifier to believe it is a normal *** this work,a new dataset is created to fool the Artificial Intelligence(AI)based malware detectors,and it consists of different types of attacks such as Denial of Service(DoS),scan 11,scan 44,botnet,spam,User Datagram Portal(UDP)scan,and ssh *** discriminator used in the DCGAN discriminates two different attack classes(anomaly and synthetic)and one normal *** model collapse,instability,and vanishing gradient issues associated with the DCGAN are overcome using the proposed hybrid Aquila optimizer-based mine blast harmony search algorithm(AO-mBHS).This algorithm helps the generator to create realistic malware samples to be undetected by the *** performance of the proposed methodology is evaluated using different performance metrics such as training time,detection rate,F-Score,loss function,Accuracy,False alarm rate,*** superiority of the hybrid AO-mBHS based DCGAN model is noticed when the detection rate is changed to 0 after the retraining method to make the defensive technique hard to be noticed by the malware detection *** support vector machines(SVm)is used as the malicious traffic detection application and its True positive rate(TPR)goes from 80%to 0%after retraining the proposed model which shows the efficiency of the proposed model in hiding the samples.

We theoretically study the charge order and orbital magnetic properties of a new type of antiferromagnetic kagome metal *** on first-principles density functional theory calculations,we study the electronic structures,Fermi-surface quantum fluctuations,as well as phonon properties of the antiferromagnetic kagome metal *** is found that charge density wave emerges in such a system due to a subtle cooperation between electron-electron interactions and electron–phonon couplings,which gives rise to an unusual scenario of interaction-triggered phonon instabilities,and eventually yields a charge density wave(CDW)*** further show that,in the CDW phase,the ground-state current density distribution exhibits an intriguing star-of-David pattern,leading to flux density *** orbital fluxes(or current loops)in this system emerge as a result of the subtle interplay between magnetism,lattice geometries,charge order,and spin-orbit coupling(SOC),which can be described by a simple,yet universal,tight-binding theory including a Kane-mele-type SOC term and a magnetic exchange *** further study the origin of the peculiar step-edge states in FeGe,which sheds light on the topological properties and correlation effects in this new type of kagome antiferromagnetic material.

The prevalence of organophosphate pesticides in aquatic environments raises severe concerns on a global ***,an insecticide,is included in a class of organophosphate *** is widely used on agricultural lands to control pests in cotton,fruit,and *** acute toxicity of chlorpyrifos is still dangerous to all aquatic living *** the treatment of water contaminated with chlorpyrifos is an important *** recent decade has witnessed adsorption technology emerging as an advanced organophosphate pesticide wastewater treatment with great potential and a grand blueprint,in which the specific surface area and active sites of the adsorbent are considered to be the two most important characteristics largely impacting the adsorption *** this study,a CS-mgO/Zeolite composite was prepared by the microbial method as an effective adsorbent for the removal of chlorpyrifos from an aqueous *** adsorbent's properties were carefully characterized using Xray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and Fourier-transform infrared *** refinement of experimental conditions,encompassing variations in adsorbent dosage,contact time,and chlorpyrifos concentration at five discrete levels,was systematically undertaken through the utilization of a composite central design rooted in response surface *** solution pH played a key role in chlorpyrifos removal,and a pH of 7.0 was selected according to its high adsorption *** highest removal(80.9%)of chlorpyrifos by CS-mgO/Zeolite was obtained at an optimum pH of 7,a contact time of 40 min,an adsorbent dosage of 0.4 g/L,and a chlorpyrifos concentration of 5 mg/L^(-1).The adsorption results were highly fitted with the Freundlich adsorption isotherm model,and the maximum adsorption was 83.3 mg/*** studies indicate that the removal of chlorpyrifos followed the pseudo-secondorder model of adsorption(0.994).The thermodynamic parameters indicate the sponta

The Bar-Bulge Relation in Non-dwarf SB0 Galaxies in the Central Region of Coma Cluster

In this paper we explore the formation of bars and present the bulge and bar properties and their correlations for a sample of lenticular barred(SB0)and lenticular unbarred(S0)galaxies in the central region of the Coma Cluster using HST/ACS *** our sample,we identified bar features using the luminosity profile decomposition software *** classified the bulges based on Sérsic index and Kormendy *** found that the average mass of the bulge in SB0 galaxies is 1.48×10^(10)m☉whereas the average mass of the bulge in S0 galaxies is 4.3×10^(10)m☉.We observe that SB0 galaxies show lower bulge concentration,low mass and also smaller B/T values compared to S0 *** the Kormendy relation,we found that among the lenticular barred galaxies,82%have classical bulges and 18%have pseudo *** classical bulges have low masses compared to the classical bulges of unbarred galaxies.S0,galaxies with massive classical bulges do not host *** also found that for all SB0s the bulge effective radius is less than the bar effective ***0 galaxies with classical bulges suggest that the bar may have formed by mergers.

On the Effect of mist Flow on the Heat Transfer Performances of a Three-Copper- Sphere Configuration

The cooling of a(pebble bed)spent fuel in a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor(HTGR)is adversely affected by an increase in the temperature of the used gas(air).To investigate this problem,a configuration consisting of three copper spheres arranged in tandem subjected to a forced mistflow inside a cylindrical channel is *** heat transfer coefficients and related variations as a function of Reynolds number are investigated *** experimental results show that when compared to those with only airflow,the heat transfer coefficient of the spherical elements with mistflow(j=112 kg/m2 hr,Re=55000)increases by 180%,75%,and 20%,respec-tively for thefirst,second,and third spherical element(the corresponding heat transfer enhancement ratio being 2.3,1.4,and 1.1).Additional numerical simulations reveal that the presence of stagnant zones with intense vortex formation around each spherical element contributes significantly to determine the heat transfer behavior.
