The effects of temperature on corrosion and the electrochemical behavior of Ni82.3Cr7Fe3Si4.5B3.2 glassy alloy in hC1,h2SO4,and h3PO4 acids were studied using AC and DC *** data reveal that the susceptibility to localized corrosion increases with increasing *** polarization curves reveal that the bulk glassy alloy is spontaneously passivated at all the investigated temperature in h2SO4 and h3PO4 solutions.A localized corrosion effect in hCl solution is clearly *** apparent activation energies in the regions of Tafel,active,and passive,as well as the enthalpies and entropies of the dissolution process were determined and *** high apparent activation energy（Ea） value for h3PO4 solution in Tafel region is explained by the low aggressivity of PO4^3- ions.

This work aims to prepare chitosan(CS)-based coated layers,CS(10 wt%nanosilver/90 wt%CS,10 wt%biotin/90 wt%CS,and 5 wt%nanosilver–5 wt%biotin)/90 wt%CS coatings are prepared,onto pure Ti *** surface morphology of the novel CS composite coating was studied using field emission scanning electron microscopy,atomic force microscopy(AFM),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR)and wettability *** show that the addition of(biotin,nanosilver)5 Vol.%improves the properties of composite *** different particles’scale size aid in improving the combinations in the alginate,producing a dual effect on film *** surface roughness decreased in the chitosan-based biocomposite with preferable homogeneity and crack-free coating layers,as confirmed by *** increase in surface roughness ensured substitution,which enhanced the surface *** high wettability of the CS-based coating layers was due to the presence of nanoparticles,and the composite coatings with CS,nanosilver,or biotin had excellent wettability because of the good hydrophilic nature of the CS matrix combined with reinforced *** FTIR results showed that peaks of the blending of CS plus nanoparticles,CS plus biotin,or CS plus nanosilver plus biotin were excellent matching with no changes in the structure of the matrix.

Background: Systemic secondary amyloidosis (SSA) is associated with chronic inflammatory disorders and/or chronic infections. Patients and Methods: Over the past 10 years;a total of 21 patients, with long-term (17 months) and extensive psoriasis (P) with psoriasis area severity index (PASI) >29, were evaluated. Results: Two patients had nephrotic syndrome (proteinuria 3.9 and 3.6 g/day) and decrease creatinine clearance (46 and 62 ml/minute). Their renal biopsy revealed Congo-red (+) nodular glomerulosclerosis that lacked immune-deposits and resisted wash with K-permanganate wash indicating SSA. Three months subsequent to Cyclosporin A (CyA) therapy with 100 mg twice daily;psoriasis improved in all patients with decrease in (PASI) from 29.5 to 3.5 1. In the 2 patients with SSA;proteinuria decreased to 2.1 and 1.8 g/day and creatinine clearance improved to 51 and 69 ml/minute. Such improvement persisted up to 2 years of follow up and up to 78 months in patients with SSA. Conclusion: psoriasis-induced SSA is an autoimmune disease, with genetic predisposition that is amenable to CyA therapy.

Euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis(EDKA)is a well-known complication of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors,and many cases with variable onset following the initiation of these agents are reported before,with a median onset of approximately 2 *** letter discusses a 45-year-old lady who initially presented with ischemic stroke but developed EDKA 4 d after starting empagliflozin,a rare *** patient had severe metabolic acidosis that necessitated admission into the intensive care *** discontinuation of empagliflozin and DKA management resulted in clinical recovery.

Childhood Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: A Case Report

Background: Thyroid cancer is a rare disease yet the most common endocrine malignancy in pediatrics. Unlike adult patients, children with thyroid nodules typically don’t complain of pain, soreness, or difficulty swallowing. Additionally, using the recommended therapy for adults to treat paediatrics is not appropriate. There is an unmet need for updated unique guidelines for the management of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) in paediatrics and adolescents. Case Report: A 12-year-old girl had an atypical presentation of metastatic PTC in lymph nodes. She was treated initially with hemi-thyroidectomy, followed by total thyroidectomy. A multidisciplinary team followed her up till successful results were found. Conclusion: Due to the difference in pathophysiology between thyroid tumors in children and adults, a unique approach to PTC management is to be implemented. Further trials are required for a better understanding of risk factors, the likelihood of recurrence, and the long-term side effects of the chosen management plan.

Loss of coolant accident(LOCA),loss of fluid accident(LOFA),and loss of vacuum accident(LOVA)are the most severe accidents that can occur in nuclear power reactors(NPRs).These accidents occur when the reactor loses its cooling media,leading to uncontrolled chain reactions akin to a nuclear *** article is focused on exploring methods to prevent such accidents and ensure that the reactor cooling system remains fully *** reactor coolant pump(RCP)has a pivotal role in facilitating heat exchange between the primary cycle,which is connected to the reactor core,and the secondary cycle associated with the steam ***,the RCP is integral to preventing catastrophic events such as LOCA,LOFA,and LOVA *** this study,we discuss the most critical aspects related to the RCP,specifically focusing on RCP control and RCP fault *** AI-based adaptive fuzzy method is used to regulate the RCP’s speed and torque,whereas the neural fault diagnosis system(NFDS)is implemented for alarm signaling and fault diagnosis in nuclear *** address the limitations of linguistic and statistical intelligence approaches,an integration of the statistical approach with fuzzy logic has been *** integrated system leverages the strengths of both *** fuzzy control was applied to the VVER 1200 NPR-RCP induction motor,and the NFDS was implemented on the Kori-2 NPR-RCP.

The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) achieved for La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_(3)/Ta_(2)O_(5) composites has been investigated. The maximum value of magnetic entropy change of La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_(3) composites is found to decrease slightly with the further increasing of Ta_(2)O_(5) concentration. It is shown that La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_(3)/Ta_(2)O_(5) composites exhibit much more uniform magnetic entropy change than that of gadolinium. Moreover, the results indicate that the temperature range between 100 K and 400 K can be covered using the La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_(3)/Ta_(2)O_(5) composites. Therefore, MCE makes the composites promising for room-temperature magnetic cooling applications.

The electrocaloric(EC)effect accompanied with the ferroelectric to paraelectric phase transition in(111)-oriented PbMg_(1/3)Nb_(2)/3O_(3)(PMN)is *** is shown that the largest change TDis 0.37 K in 3 kV/cm electric field shift near the Curie temperature of 221 K;that is,the cooling TDper unit field(MV/m)is 1.23×10^(-6) m·K/*** value is significantly larger,and comparable with the value of 0.254×10^(-6) m·K/V for PbZr_(0.95)Ti_(0.05)O_(3)thin film under larger electric field shift ED=30 kV/***,the EC effect of(111)PMN single crystal provides cooling solutions at low temperatures,and opens more opportunities for practical application in cooling systems.
