Articular cartilage is an important load-bearing tissue distributed on the surface of diarthrodial *** to its avascular,aneural and non-lymphatic features,cartilage has limited self-regenerative *** date,the utilization of biomaterials to aid in cartilage regeneration,especially through the use of injectable scaffolds,has attracted considerable *** materials,therapeutics and fabrication approaches have emerged with a focus on manipulating the cartilage microenvironment to induce the formation of cartilaginous structures that have similar properties to the native *** particular,the design and fabrication of injectable hydrogel-based scaffolds have advanced in recent years with the aim of enhancing its therapeutic efficacy and improving its ease of *** review summarizes recent progress in these efforts,including the structural improvement of scaffolds,network cross-linking techniques and strategies for controlled release,which present new opportunities for the development of injectable scaffolds for cartilage regeneration.

Cooperative file sharing mechanism with Network Coding in wireless Mesh networks

This article describes a new model of a cooperative file sharing system in a wireless Mesh network. The authors＇ approach is to develop an efficient and cooperative file sharing mechanism based on opportunistic random linear Network Coding. Within this mechanism, every node transmits random linear combination of its packets according to cooperative priority, which is computed in a distributed manner according to the node-possible contribution to its neighbor nodes. With this mechanism, the more a node contributes to others, the more the node has chances to recover the entire file first. The performance metrics of interest here are： the delay until all the packets in a file have been delivered to all nodes, and an ideal packet size, by the use of which the authors can get the minimum transmission delay. Through extensive simulation the authors compare their mechanism with the current transmission process in a wireless Mesh network without random linear Network Coding. The authors found that using their mechanism, the nodes can cooperatively share the entire file with less transmission time and delay than the current transmission process without random linear network.

Digital Elevation Models(DEMs)contain topographic relief data that are vital for many geoscience *** study relies on the vertical accuracy of publicly available latest high-resolution(30 m)global DEMs over *** models are(1)the ALOs World 3D-30 m(AW3D30),(2)the shuttle Radar Topography Mission 1 Arc-second CBand Global DEM(sRTM 1)and(3)the Advanced spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Global DEM Version 2(AsTER GDEM 2).After matching their coordinate systems and datums,the horizontal positional accuracy evaluation was carried out and it shows that geolocation errors significantly influence the vertical accuracy of global *** this,the three models are compared among them,in order to access random and systematic effects in the elevation data each of them ***,heights from 555 GPs/leveling points distributed all over Cameroon are compared to each DEM,for their vertical accuracy *** and robust statistical measures,normality test,outlier detection and removal were used to describe the vertical quality of the *** test of the normality rejected the hypothesis of normal distribution for all tested global *** vertical accuracies obtained for the three models after georeferencing and gross error removal in terms of Root Mean square(RMs)and Normalized Median Absolute Deviation(NMAD)are:AW3D30(13.06 m and 7.75 m),sRTM 1(13.25 m and 7.41 m)and AsTER GDEM 2(18.87 m and 13.30 m).Other accuracy measures(MED,68.3% quantile,95% quantile)supply some evidence of the good quality of AW3D30 over ***,the effect of land cover and slope on DEM vertical accuracy was also *** models have proved to be worse in the areas dominated by forests and shrubs *** 1 and AW3D30 are more resilient to the effects of the scattering objects respectively in forests and cultivated *** dependency of DEMs accuracy on the terrain roughness is *** all slope intervals,AW3D30 is performing

Global Transmission Dynamics of a schistosomiasis Model and Its Optimal Control

Drug treatment, snail control, cercariae control, improved sanitation and health education are the effective strategies which are used to control the schistosomiasis. In this paper, we consider a deterministic model for schistosomiasis transmission dynamics in order to explore the role of the several control strategies. The global stability of a schistosomiasis infection model that involves mating structure including male schistosomes, female schistosomes, paired schistosomes and snails is studied by constructing appropriate Lyapunov functions. We derive the basic reproduction number R0 for the deterministic model, and establish that the global dynamics are completely determined by the values of R0. We show that the disease can be eradicated when R0?≤1;otherwise, the system is persistent. In the case where ?R0?>1, we prove the existence, uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of an endemic steady state. sensitivity analysis and simulations are carried out in order to determine the relative importance of different control strategies for disease transmission and prevalence. Next, optimal control theory is applied to investigate the control strategies for eliminating schistosomiasis using time dependent controls. The characterization of the optimal control is carried out via the Pontryagins Maximum Principle. The simulation results demonstrate that the insecticide is important in the control of schistosomiasis.

Aim: Assess upper and lower limb functions in elderly with heart failure (HF) and evaluate its relation to HF severity. Methods: Handgrip strength (HGs) in kilograms (kgs.) of both hands using handle mechanical dynamometer and counting the repetitions (rep.) of stand and sit on a chair during 30 seconds [the 30 seconds chair-stand test (CsT)] were used in 71 elderly (≥65 years old) patients with clinically stable HF and other matched 32 healthy elderly as a control. HF was diagnosed clinically, by plasma B-Type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and by echocardiography. The New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional classification of HF was used to obtain two groups: NYHA class I-II (33 patients), and NYHA class III (38 patients). Results: showed significant decrease in both HGs and CsT score in all HF patients (9.7 ± 4.4 kgs., 8.8 ± 3.1 rep., respectively) compared to controls (77.8 ± 11 kgs., 13.5 ± 1.1 rep., respectively, p Conclusion: Upper and lower limb muscles?strength, assessed by two easy andinexpensive tests (HGs and CsT), may reflect clinical severity of HF in elderly patients who cannot usually perform exercise tests. Its prognostic value requires further follow-up studies to verify.

The custom of amusing the parents-in-law is one of the most important amusement contents of the civil marriage ceremony in the Chinese North Han, Hui, Dongxiang, salar, Baoan and other several nationalities, and currently it has fully been entertained in the minds of the people. Behind this ＂entertaining ceremony＂ of the festive colors hide the serious social expectations of our ancestors -- scrupulously abide by the filial piety and the sense of propriety, justice, honesty and honor. Through the dramatic performance methods in the wedding that ＂there is no degree of seniority for three days＂, ＂humiliate the parents-in-law＂ and ＂the father-in-law shoulders on back the danghter-in-law＂ and so on, they stress that these acts are the ＂sacrilege＂ that cannot be violated in the normal state of the society. The ways and means of ＂metaphor＂ in the ceremony of the ancestors are the means that many of the human groups adopt in the life etiquette and other ＂transition＂ etiquettes. In this regard, the anthropologist Victor Turner summarizes it as ＂liminality＂, and based on this theory, the author conducts an interpretive study of the metaphor behind the custom of amusing the parents-in-law.

合成了Cu（Ⅱ）,Ni（Ⅱ）,Co（Ⅱ）,Mn（Ⅱ）,Zn（Ⅱ）和Cd（Ⅱ）的乙基3-（2-氨硫化亚肼基）-2-（羟胺基）丁烯酸酯配合物（H2L）并用元素分析,DTA热分析,IR,UV-Vis,1H-NMR,质谱,顺磁共振以及磁矩,电导率测量等对合成的配合物进行表征.摩尔电导率测量结果证明合成的配合物为非电解质.光谱数据表明配体分别表现为一元的三齿配体,一元的二齿配体,中性的二齿配体,中性的三齿配体,一元的四齿配体或二元的四齿配体通过席夫碱的氮原子,氨基硫脲中的氮原子,肟中的氮原子和硫酮中的硫原子与金属离子键合生成围绕金属离子的四面体或平面正方形构型.固态Cu（Ⅱ）（2）,（3）,（4）和（5）的配合物顺磁共振谱表明其为轴向对称,但（10～15）的配合物却为各向异性.配体和配合物（2）,（3）,（10）,（13）,（16）和（19）由于它们对乳腺癌（MCF-7细胞系）和肝癌（HePG-2细胞系）的抑制作用而表现出潜在的抗癌活性.
