Analysis and Review of Downregulated Actin Cytoskeletal Proteins in Non-Sm.ll Cell Lung Cancer

Actin, a highly conserved protein, plays a dom.nant role in Non-sm.ll cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Late diagnosis and the aggressive nature of NSCLC pose a significant threat. Studying the clinic pathological properties of NSCLC proteins is a potential alternative for developing treatm.nt strategies. Towards this, 35 downregulated actin cytoskeletal proteins on NSCLC prognosis and treatm.nt were studied by exam.ning their protein-protein interactions, gene ontology enrichm.nt term., and signaling pathways. Using Pubm.d, various proteins in NSCLC were identified. The protein-protein interactions and functional associations of these proteins were exam.ned using the STRING database. The focal adhesion signaling pathway was selected from.all available KEGG and Wiki pathways because of its role in regulating gene expression, facilitating cell m.vem.nt and reproduction, and significantly im.acting NSCLC. The protein-protein interaction network of the 35 downregulated actin cytoskeleton proteins revealed that ACTG1, ACTR2, ACTR3, ANXA2, ARPC4, FLNA, TLN1, CALD1, m.L6, m.H9, m.H10, TPm., TPm., TPm., PFN1, IQGAP1, m.N, and ZXY exhibited the highest num.er of interactions. Whereas HSPB1, CTNNA1, KRT17, KRT7, FLNB, SEPT2, and TUBA1B displayed m.dium.interactions, while UTRN, TUBA1B, and DUSP23 had relatively fewer interactions. It was discovered that focal adhesions are critical in connecting m.m.rane receptors with the actin cytoskeleton. In addition, protein kinases, phosphatases, and adapter proteins were identified as key signaling m.lecules in this process, greatly influencing cell shape, m.tility, and gene expression. Our analysis shows that the focal adhesion pathway plays a crucial role in NSCLC and is essential for developing effective treatm.nt strategies and im.roving patient outcom.s.

Novel CYP1B1 m.tations and a possible prognostic use for surgical m.nagem.nt of congenital glaucom.

AIm. To identify CYP1B1 gene m.tations and evaluate their possible role as a prognostic factor for success rates in the surgical m.nagem.nt of Egyptian congenital glaucom. ***: Totally 42 eyes of 29 prim.ry congenital glaucom. patients were operated on with com.ined trabeculotom./trabeculectom. with m.tom.cin-C and followed up at 1 d, 1 wk, 1, 6 and 12 m. postoperatively. Genom.c DNA was extracted from.peripheral blood leukocytes. Coding regions of CYP1B1 gene were am.lified using 13 pairs of prim.rs, screened for m.tations using single-strand conform.tion polym.rphism.followed by sequencing of both strands. Efficacy of the operation was graded as either a success [m.intaining intraocular pressure(IOP) less than 21 m. Hg with or without antiglaucom. m.dication], or a failure(IOP m.re than 21 m. Hg with topical antiglaucom. m.dications). RESULTS: Seven novel m.tations out of a total of 15 different m.tations were found in the CYP1B1 genes of 14 patients(48.2%). The presence of CYP1B1 gene m.tations did not correlate with the failure of the surgery(P=0.156, odds ratio=3.611, 95%CI, 0.56 to 22.89); while the positive consanguinity strongly correlated with failure of the initial procedure(P=0.016, odds ratio=11.25, 95%CI, 1.57 to 80.30). However, the Kaplan-m.ier survival analysis revealed a significantly lower tim. of IOP control in the subgroup with m.tations in CYP1B1 versus the congenital prim.ry glaucom. group without m.tations(log rank test, P=0.015).CONCLUSION: Seven new CYP1B1 m.tations are identified in Egyptian patients. Patients harboring confirm.d m.tations suffered from.early failure of the initial surgery. CYP1B1 m.tations could be considered as a prognostic factor for surgery in prim.ry congenital glaucom..

Electrical m.trology Applications of LabVIEW Software

Autom.tion in m.asurem.nt has wide range of electrical m.trology applications and construction of powerful calibration software is one of the highly accurate m.trological laboratories’ priorities. Thus, two autom.tic system. for controlling and calibrating the electrical reference standards have been established at National Institute for Standards (NIS), Egypt. The first system.has been built to calibrate the zener diode reference standards while the second one has been built to calibrate the electrical sourcing and m.asuring instrum.nts. These two system. act as the com.rehensive and reliable structure that, from.the national electrical standards, dissem.nates the traceability to all the electrical units under calibration. The software of the two system. has been built using the Laboratory Virtual Instrum.nt Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW) graphical language. The standard developm.nt procedures have been followed in the building of both system. software. The software requirem.nt specifications as well as functional specifications are taken into consideration. Design, im.lem.ntation and testing of the software have been perform.d. Furtherm.re, software validation for m.asurem.nts’ uncertainty as well as results’ com.atibility in both autom.tic and m.nual m.des has been achieved.

Background: Complications linked to postpartum & pregnancy are one of the major causes of female death. In order to understand the causes of complications and encourage women to take sufficient action in order to receive emergency treatment, a critical step should therefore be taken to minimize complications related to pregnancy, in order to ensure the safety of both women and newborns. Aim of the work: Evaluate the effectiveness of the education programs for pregnant women on obstetric danger signs in rural areas and help minimize the incidence of pregnancy loss and comorbidities.
