Weak and strong coupling interactions and trapped effects have always played a significant role in understanding physical and chemical properties of materials. Triple-well anharmonic potential may be modeled for interpretation of energy spectra from the nuclear to macro molecular systems, and also crystalline systems. Exact periods of a trapped particle in each well of the potential are explicitly derived. For the extended Duffing system, it is predicted that infinite series of both frequency and spatial trajectory approach to exact results in the limit of weak-coupling cases (g→0).

Butter is produced from cream or yoghurt in dairy factories and farms and called as butter or yayik butter in Turkey. Karinyagi is also made from cream and yoghurt as yayik butter, but the packaging material is different from others. Karinyagi produce by filling of butter into purified goat’s and sheep’s stomach (the traditional name is Karin) and storage in this material during self-life. The aim of this study was to determine the fatty acid composition of Karinyagi made from cream. Twenty Karinyagi samples were randomly collected from different regions of Burdur/Turkey. The fatty acid composition of samples (by gas chromatography) and chemical properties was investigated. It was deter-mined that the chemical properties of Karinyagi was similar to butter produced with cream and yoghurt. The total saturated fatty acid level of Karinyagi samples changed from 62.31 to 76.64 (mean value 67.14 ± 3.36)%, while unsaturated fatty acids of them ranged from 20.48 to 31.57 (mean value 28.46 ± 2.67)%. Minimum and maximum levels of monounsaturated fatty acids of karinyagi were determined as 18.98 % and 28.57%. Butyric, oleic and palmitic acids were dominant in Karinyagi. Palmitic acid was slightly lower comparing to data for butter produced with cream and yoghurt. As a result, the amount of Karinyagi fatty acids may be said to be significantly different from the fatty acid of yayik and cream butter.

We evaluated the genotypes of the serotonin transporter gene （5-HTT） in patients with premature ejaculation （PE） to determine the role of genetic factors in the etiopathogenesis of PE and possibly to identify the patient subgroups. A total of 70 PE patients and 70 controls were included in this study. All men were heterosexual, had no other disorders and were either married or in a stable relationship. PE was defined as ejaculation that occurred within 1 min of vaginal intromission. Genomic DNA from patients and controls was analyzed using polymerase chain reaction, and allelic variations of the promoter region of the serotonin transporter gene （5-HTTLPR） were determined. The 5-HTTLPR （serotonin transporter promoter gene） genotypes in PE patients vs. controls were distributed as follows： L/L 16% vs. 17%, L/s 30% vs. 53% and s/s 54% vs. 28%. We examined the haplotype analysis for three polymorphisms of the 5-HTTLPR gene： LL, Ls and ss. The appropriateness of the allele frequencies in the 5-HTTLPR gene was analyzed by the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium using the Z-test. The short （s） allele of the 5-HTTLPR gene was significantly more frequent in PE patients than in controls （P 〈 0.05）. We suggest that the 5-HTTLPR gene plays a role in the pathophysiology of all primary PE cases. Further studies are needed to evaluate the relationship between 5-HTTLPR gene polymorphism and patient subgroup （such as primary and secondary PE） responses to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors as well as ethnic differences.

Mixtures of refined wheat flour (RWF) with flours from different sources could impact the functional qualities and shelf life of wheat-based products. storage stability is one of the most critical factors for tortilla quality. Tortillas made from yam (Dioscorea sp.) wheat composite flours were characterized. RWF was substituted with 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of fermented yam flour-brown (FYF) and unfermented yam flour-white (UYF). Farinograph water absorptions of UYF-composite flours (65.5% - 77.1%) were significantly (P site flour absorptions (60.5% - 61.5%). During storage, moisture contents of composite flour tortillas increased while the RWF-tortilla decreased. Tortilla from FYF-composite flour exhibited greater strength (3.1 N at day zero on average) compared to UYF-composite tortillas (2.1 N at day zero on average), while UYF-composite flour tortillas had good extensibility and rollability properties. The properties and composition type and ratios of flour blends affected tortilla quality during the storage period. The substitution of RWF with 15% or 20% UYF would be more suitable for making tortilla with improved properties compared to that of FYF.
