Using Genetic Algorithms (GAs) is a powerful tool to get solution to large scale design optimization problems. This paper used GA to solve complicated design optimization problems in two different applications. The aims are to implement the genetic algorithm to solve these two different (nested) problems, and to get the best or optimization solutions.

AIM To assess the burden of norovirus(No V) and to determine the diversity of circulating strains among hospitalized children in Lebanon. METHODS Stool samples were collected from children presenting with acute gastroenteritis to six major hospitals in Lebanon. A total of 739 eligible stool samples, testing negative for diarrhea caused by rotavirus as a possible viral pathogen, were collected between January 2011 and June 2013. A standardized questionnaire including demographic, epidemiological and clinical observations was used at the time of hospitalization of children presenting with diarrhea. Viral RNA was extracted from stool samples followed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and nucleotide sequencing of a fragment of the viral protein 1 capsid gene. Multiple sequence alignments were carried out and phylogenetic trees were constructed using the MEGA 6 *** Overall, 11.2% of stool samples collected from children aged < 5 years tested positive for No V genogroups Ⅰ(GⅠ) and Ⅱ(GⅡ). GⅡ accounted for 10.6% of the gastroenteritis cases with only five samples being positive for GⅠ(0.7%). The majority of hospitalized children showed symptoms of diarrhea, dehydration, vomiting and fever. Upon sequencing of positive samples and based on their clustering in the phylogenetic tree, 4/5 of GⅠ gastroenteritis cases were designated GⅠ.3 and one case as GⅠ.4. GⅡ.4 was predominantly detected in stool of our study participants(68%). We report a JB-15/KOR/2008 GⅡ.4 Apeldoorn 2008-like variant strain circulating in 2011; this strain was replaced between 2012 and 2013 by a variant sharing homology with the Sydney/NSW0514/2012/AUS GⅡ.4 Sydney 2012 and Sydney 2012/FRA GⅡ.4 strains. In this paper, we develop a hybrid model based on SCOR and BPMN to model the operational processes of a platform of cross docking. The interest of the developed model is its dynamic capacity to describe the interactions between the logistic processes most faithfully possible, and on the other hand to propose an approach of evaluation of the performance. We called this ＂tool＂＂BPMPE＂（business process modeling ＆ performance evaluation）. We used several constraints to estimate the robustness of the tool.

The Role of Moral Intelligence and Identity Styles in Prediction of Mental Health Problems in Healthcare Students

Background: Assessment of healthcare students’ mental health problems is an important aspect of health promotion. This study examined the roles of moral intelligence (MI) and identity styles in prediction of mental health problems in healthcare students. Methods: In a correlation study, two hundred healthcare students (100 girls, 100 boys) of Medicine, Density, and Paramedicine Colleges of Bobol University of Medical Sciences were selected. The subjects filled out three questionnaires;General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), Moral Competency Inventory (MCI), and Identity Style Inventory (ISI), and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). Pearson correlation, multivariate analysis variance model (MANOVA), and multivariate regression used to analyze the data. Results: Boys and girls did not have a meaningful difference in the mean of total GHQ, MCI, normative and informational identity. Girls had significantly higher mean level of diffused-avoidant identity than boys. There was a positive and significant relationship between moral intelligence, normative identity and mental health problems of students. Also, there was a negative relationship (p < 0.05) between diffused-avoidant identity and mental health problems of students. Moral intelligence, informational and normative identity predicted 25.8% of the variance in mental health problems for girls’ students. Normative and diffused-avoidant identity predicted 21.6% of the variance in mental health problems for girls’ students. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that moral intelligence and identity status contributed to the mental health problems of healthcare students. University administrators should adopt strategies that strengthen the moral intelligence and identity maturity associated with university students’ mental health.

The core of the natural product chemistry laboratory is isolation secondary metabolites. One of the potential secondary metabolites for isolation in the natural product chemistry laboratory is routine (quercetin-3-O-glycosides). Routine (Quercetin-3-O-glycoside) has been isolated from ethanol extract of rubber cassava leaves (Manihot glaziovii MA). Isolation was done by maceration and recrystallization. The isolation method used in this study is complemented by the isolation method published. The isolated (Quercetin-3-O-glycoside) routine using this method obtained a yield of 0.118% of the total dried leaf extract. The routine (Quercetin-3-O-glycoside) was identified using a standard routine. Routine can be further utilized in the world of medicine as an amplifier of capillary structure, reducing the permeability and fragility of blood vessels.

Cystic duct cysts are rare lesions, and type VI of TODANI’s modified classification is the rarest subtype with only sporadic case reports in the literature. The following report describes the coexistence of this entity and type 1 tyrosinemia in a one month-old infant referred to our department for etiological investigations of prolonged neonatal cholestasis. To the best of our knowledge, we report herein the first case in the literature describing this association. Cystic duct abnormalities should be considered in the differential diagnosis of neonatal cholestases, however further investigations should be performed to exclude associated life-threatening conditions such as metabolic disorders including tyrosinemia.

In this paper, we propose a new online system that can quickly detect malicious spam emails and adapt to the changes in the email contents and the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) links leading to malicious websites by updating the system daily. We introduce an autonomous function for a server to generate training examples, in which double-bounce emails are automatically collected and their class labels are given by a crawler-type software to analyze the website maliciousness called SPIKE. In general, since spammers use botnets to spread numerous malicious emails within a short time, such distributed spam emails often have the same or similar contents. Therefore, it is not necessary for all spam emails to be learned. To adapt to new malicious campaigns quickly, only new types of spam emails should be selected for learning and this can be realized by introducing an active learning scheme into a classifier model. For this purpose, we adopt Resource Allocating Network with Locality Sensitive Hashing (RAN-LSH) as a classifier model with a data selection function. In RAN-LSH, the same or similar spam emails that have already been learned are quickly searched for a hash table in Locally Sensitive Hashing (LSH), in which the matched similar emails located in “well-learned” are discarded without being used as training data. To analyze email contents, we adopt the Bag of Words (BoW) approach and generate feature vectors whose attributes are transformed based on the normalized term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF). We use a data set of double-bounce spam emails collected at National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Japan from March 1st, 2013 until May 10th, 2013 to evaluate the performance of the proposed system. The results confirm that the proposed spam email detection system has capability of detecting with high detection rate.

What Impact Does COVID-19 Have in Cirrhotics?

SARS-Cov-2 is a novel coronavirus discovered in Wuhan, China in late 2019 and responsible for respiratory distress. Aim: study the impact of COVID-19 among patients with cirrhosis. Patients and methods: We conducted a prospective study for a period of 9 months (April 1st-December 1st) that included cirrhotic patients infected with SARS-Cov-2 followed in the gastroenterology department in the University Hospital Hassan II. Results: Among 1437 patients hospitalised for SARS-Cov-2, 8 cirrhotic patients were included in a period of 9 months (April 1st-December 1st). The mean age is 55 y/o and most are female (n = 6). The aetiology of cirrhosis is mostly HCV (n = 3), HBV (n = 2). Half of the infected patients had acute bleeding (one of them had hepatic encephalopathy) and one patient had respiratory distress. Most of the patients had a negative PCR at the end of the hospital stay (n = 5). The mortality rate was 25% and patients were followed up for a period of 4 months. Conclusion: In the studied population, clinical manifestations were essentially a decompensation of cirrhosis.

Effect of Pre-Existing Chronic Medical Conditions on Clinical Features and Disease Outcomes of COVID-19 Infection in Jordanian Children

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic emerged unexpectedly, impacting millions worldwide and, though waning in many regions, remains a significant concern. This study focused on understanding COVID-19’s clinical presentation, disease progression, and outcomes among hospitalized pediatric patients. Additionally, it sought to investigate the impact of concurrent chronic medical conditions on disease severity. Methods: Conducted retrospectively between September 2020 and December 2021, this study observed pediatric patients (below 18 years) hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 at an Irbid, Jordan tertiary healthcare center. Patients meeting inclusion criteria, including a positive nasal swab PCR test and hospitalization need, were analyzed. Epidemiological and clinical data were collected and segregated into two groups (A and B) based on the presence of chronic conditions. Comparative analysis encompassed presentation, disease trajectory, and outcomes between these groups. Results: Among 451 tested positive patients, 112 were included in the study. Significant differences emerged between the two pediatric groups hospitalized for COVID-19. Those with concurrent chronic illnesses exhibited heightened symptom severity—fever, dyspnea, fatigue—and a higher incidence of abnormal chest radiographs, often requiring intensive care and experiencing elevated mortality rates. Conclusion: This study underscores the criticality of prioritizing COVID-19 management strategies for pediatric patients with pre-existing chronic medical conditions. The findings highlight the increased vulnerability and poorer outcomes experienced by this subgroup, emphasizing the necessity for tailored interventions and focused care approaches.
