Diferent from necrosis,apoptosis,autophagy and other forms of cell death,ferroptosis is a mechanism that catalyzes lipid peroxidation of polyunsaturated ftty acids under the action of iron divalent or lipoxygenase,leading to cell death.Apatinib is currently used in the third line standard treatment of advanced gastric cancer,targeting the anti-angiogenesis pathway.However,Apatinib mediated ferroptosis in vascular endothelial cells has not been reported yet.Tumor.secreted exosomes can be taken up into target cells to regulate tumor development,but the mechanism related to vascular endothelial cell ferroptosis has not yet been discovered.Here,we show that exosomes secreted by gastric cancer cells carry miR-214.3p into vascular endothelial cells and directdy target zinc finger protein A20 to negatively regulate ACSL4,a key enzyme of lipid peroxidation during frroptosis thereby inhibiting ferroptosis in vascular endothelial cells and reducing the eficiency of Apatinib.In conclusion,inhibition of miR-214-3p can increase the sensitivity of vascular endothelial cells to Apatinib,thereby promoting the antiangiogenic efect of Apatinib,suggesting a potential combination therapy for advanced gastric cancer.

Sensitive monitoring of the target products during the biosynthesis process is crucial,and facile analytical approaches are urgently needed.Herein,phosphatidylserine(PS)was chosen as the model target,a colorimetric aptasensor was developed for the rapid quantitation in biosynthesis samples.A chimeric aptamer was constructed with two homogeneous original PS aptamers.Specific recognition between the chimeric aptamer and PS results in the desorption of aptamer from the surface of the AuNPs nanozyme,and the peroxidase-like enzymatic activity of the AuNPs nanozyme was weakened in a relationship with the different concentrations.The developed aptasensor performed well when applied for analyzing PS in biosynthesis samples.The aptasensor offers good sensitivity and selectivity,under optimal conditions,achieving monitoring and quantitation of PS in the range of 2.5-80.0μmol/L,with a limit of detection at 536.2 nmol/L.Moreover,the aptasensor provides good accuracy,with comparison rates of 98.17%-106.40%,when compared with the HPLC-ELSD.This study provides a good reference for monitoring other biosynthesized products and promoting the development of aptamers and aptasensors in real-world applications.

Fatigue properties of materials by Additive Manufacturing(AM) depend on many factors such as AM processing parameter, microstructure, residual stress, surface roughness, porosities, post-treatments, etc. Their evaluation inevitably requires these factors combined as many as possible, thus resulting in low efficiency and high cost. In recent years, their assessment by leveraging the power of Machine Learning(ML) has gained increasing attentions. A comprehensive overview on the state-of-the-art progress of applying ML strategies to predict fatigue properties of AM materials, as well as their dependence on AM processing and post-processing parameters such as laser power, scanning speed, layer height, hatch distance, built direction, post-heat temperature,etc., were presented. A few attempts in employing Feedforward Neural Network(FNN), Convolutional Neural Network(CNN), Adaptive Network-Based Fuzzy Inference System(ANFIS), Support Vector Machine(SVM) and Random Forest(RF) to predict fatigue life and RF to predict fatigue crack growth rate are summarized. The ML models for predicting AM materials' fatigue properties are found intrinsically similar to the commonly used ones, but are modified to involve AM features. Finally, an outlook for challenges(i.e., small dataset, multifarious features,overfitting, low interpretability, and unable extension from AM material data to structure life) and potential solutions for the ML prediction of AM materials' fatigue properties is provided.

Sesame Fusarium wilt(SFW),caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.***.sesami(Fos),is one of the most devastating diseases affecting sesame cultivation.Deciphering the genetic control of SFW resistance is pivotal for effective disease management in sesame.An inheritance study on a cross between the highly resistant variety Yuzhi 11 and the highly susceptible accession Sp1 using a Fos pathogenicity group 1 isolate indicated that resistance was conferred by a single dominant allele.The target locus was located in a 1.24 Mb interval on chromosome 3 using a combination of cross-population association mapping and bulked segregant analysis.Fine genetic mapping further narrowed the interval between 21,350 and 21,401 kb.The locus Sindi_0812400 was identified as the SFW resistance gene and officially designated SiRLK1.This gene encodes a specific malectin/receptor-like protein kinase with three putative tandem kinase domains and is considered a kinase fusion protein.Sequence analysis revealed that a high proportion(49.44%)of variants within the locus was located within the kinase domainⅢ,and several of which were evidently associated with the diversity in SFW response,indicating the critical role of kinase domainⅢin expression of disease resistance.These findings provide valuable information for further functional analysis of SFW resistance genes and marker-assisted resistance breeding in sesame.

Meibomian gland dysfunction(MGD)is a common ocular surface disease,and the pathogenesis of MGD is closely related to the alteration of meibomian gland morphology and(or)function.At present,the treatment strategy for MGD consists of physical therapy,artificial lubricants,topical and systemic antibiotics and antiinflammatory agents,topical steroids andΩ-3 dietary supplementation.Recently,the thermal pulsation system(LipiFlow)has been used clinically,which allows heat to be applied to the palpebral surfaces of the upper and lower eyelids directly over the meibomian glands,while simultaneously applying pulsatile pressure to the outer eyelid surfaces.Due to its specific design,the cornea and eyeball can successfully avoid the potential damage from overheating and improper expression,which will greatly improve the safety during the clinical application and patients'compliance.Studies have showed that the effectiveness of LipiFlow when treating MGD is at least as well as twice-daily lid warming and massage for 3 months,which displays a broad application prospect.At present,the application of LipiFlow in China has not been fully developed,and only some hospitals have experimental applications.This paper summarizes the research progress of LipiFlow treatment in MGD.

Fast solution to the free return orbit's reachable domain of the manned lunar mission by deep neural network

It is important to calculate the reachable domain(RD)of the manned lunar mission to evaluate whether a lunar landing site could be reached by the spacecraft. In this paper, the RD of free return orbits is quickly evaluated and calculated via the classification and regression neural networks. An efficient databasegeneration method is developed for obtaining eight types of free return orbits and then the RD is defined by the orbit’s inclination and right ascension of ascending node(RAAN) at the perilune. A classify neural network and a regression network are trained respectively. The former is built for classifying the type of the RD, and the latter is built for calculating the inclination and RAAN of the RD. The simulation results show that two neural networks are well trained. The classification model has an accuracy of more than 99% and the mean square error of the regression model is less than 0.01°on the test set. Moreover, a serial strategy is proposed to combine the two surrogate models and a recognition tool is built to evaluate whether a lunar site could be reached. The proposed deep learning method shows the superiority in computation efficiency compared with the traditional double two-body model.

Self-oscillating systems abound in the natural world and offer substantial potential for applications in controllers,micro-motors,medical equipments,and so on.Currently,numerical methods have been widely utilized for obtaining the characteristics of self-oscillation including amplitude and frequency.However,numerical methods are burdened by intricate computations and limited precision,hindering comprehensive investigations into self-oscillating systems.In this paper,the stability of a liquid crystal elastomer fiber self-oscillating system under a linear temperature field is studied,and analytical solutions for the amplitude and frequency are determined.Initially,we establish the governing equations of self-oscillation,elucidate two motion regimes,and reveal the underlying mechanism.Subsequently,we conduct a stability analysis and employ a multi-scale method to obtain the analytical solutions for the amplitude and frequency.The results show agreement between the multi-scale and numerical methods.This research contributes to the examination of diverse self-oscillating systems and advances the theoretical analysis of self-oscillating systems rooted in active materials.

The reductive amination of furfural to furfurylamine is an important and still challenging topic in the field of biomass conversion. In this work, we prepared a series of Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)-LaO_(x) catalysts by co-precipitation method, the role of La played in promoting the catalytic performances of reductive amination furfural was discussed based on the changes in the electronic state of Ni species, acidity, and Ni particle size. The catalytic activity and the selectivity of furfurylamine are highly dependent on the surface properties and the structure of the catalyst. The addition of La promoted the amount of strong acidic sites and the H2dissociation and spillover on the surface, thus inducing the improvement of the catalytic activity and furfurylamine selectivity. The Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)-0.5LaO_(x)catalyst with suitable acid sites gave a high yield of furfurylamine (94.9%) under mild reaction conditions. Moreover, the catalyst could be recycled five times without significant loss in activity. The Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)-LaO_(x) catalyst is of great promise in the production of amines via reductive amination reaction.

Flotation separation of scheelite from calcite using luteolin as a novel depressant

This paper proposes luteolin(LUT)as a novel depressant for the flotation-based separation of scheelite and calcite in a sodium oleate(NaOL)system.The suitability of LUT as a calcite depressant is confirmed through micro-flotation testing.At pH=9,with LUT concentration of 50 mg·L^(-1) and NaOL concentration of 50 mg·L^(-1),scheelite recovery reaches 80.3%.Calcite,on the other hand,exhibits a recovery rate of 17.6%,indicating a significant difference in floatability between the two minerals.Subsequently,the surface modifica-tions of scheelite and calcite following LUT treatment are characterized using adsorption capacity testing,Zeta potential analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and atomic force microscopy(AFM).The study in-vestigates the selective depressant mechanism of LUT on calcite.Adsorption capacity testing and Zeta potential analysis demonstrate sub-stantial absorption of LUT on the surface of calcite,impeding the further adsorption of sodium oleate,while its impact on scheelite is min-imal.FT-IR and XPS analyses reveal the selective adsorption of LUT onto the surface of calcite,forming strong chemisorption bonds between the hydroxyl group and calcium ions present.AFM directly illustrates the distinct adsorption densities of LUT on the two miner-al types.Consequently,LUT can effectively serve as a depressant for calcite,enabling the successful separation of scheelite and calcite.

Hyperpolarized^(3)He nuclei have emerged as a significantly important approach in quantum precision measurement techniques,with extensive applications in fundamental physics,magnetometry,metrology,and beyond.In this study,we report on the design and implementation of a^(3)He polarization system at the China Mianyang Research Reactor(CMRR),utilizing the metastabilityexchange optical pumping(MEOP)method.We employed a Merritt coil system consisting of four square coils to furnish a uniform holding field.We deployed a 2 W fiber laser to pump the metastable^(3)He atoms and conducted free induction decay(FID)detection of the polarized^(3)He nuclei using both pickup coil and optical methods.For the optical method,we used a50 m W linearly polarized distributed Bragg reflector(DBR)laser as the probe.We applied transverse light absorption polarimetry to measure the absolute nuclear polarization of the ground-state^(3)He.We have developed cell fabrication capabilities at the CMRR,and cells at various pressures ranging from 100 to 1000 Pa have been fabricated and evaluated.For a typical borosilicate cell with 100 Pa pressure,the absolute polarization is measured as Pn≈70%,and the transverse relaxation time is estimated as T2≈0.5 s.Moreover,we constructed a few aluminosilicate cells,each carefully filled with pure^(3)He at a pressure of 100 Pa.Subsequently,we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of their performance in the context of MEOP.
