Correcting Climate Model Sea Surface Temperature Simulations with Generative Adversarial Networks:Climatology,Interannual Variability,and Extremes

Climate models are vital for understanding and projecting global climate change and its associated ***,these models suffer from biases that limit their accuracy in historical simulations and the trustworthiness of future *** these challenges requires addressing internal variability,hindering the direct alignment between model simulations and observations,and thwarting conventional supervised learning ***,we employ an unsupervised Cycle-consistent Generative Adversarial Network(CycleGAN),to correct daily Sea Surface Temperature(SST)simulations from the Community Earth System Model 2(CESM2).Our results reveal that the CycleGAN not only corrects climatological biases but also improves the simulation of major dynamic modes including the El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)and the Indian Ocean Dipole mode,as well as SST ***,it substantially corrects climatological SST biases,decreasing the globally averaged Root-Mean-Square Error(RMSE)by 58%.Intriguingly,the CycleGAN effectively addresses the well-known excessive westward bias in ENSO SST anomalies,a common issue in climate models that traditional methods,like quantile mapping,struggle to ***,it substantially improves the simulation of SST extremes,raising the pattern correlation coefficient(PCC)from 0.56 to 0.88 and lowering the RMSE from 0.5 to *** enhancement is attributed to better representations of interannual,intraseasonal,and synoptic scales *** study offers a novel approach to correct global SST simulations and underscores its effectiveness across different time scales and primary dynamical modes.

ECMWF模式对我国西南环横断山区冬季近地面2m温度的预报评估

从冬季平均温度、温度日变化及日较差等方面入手,基于2021年CLDAS逐小时产品评估了ECMWF全球高分辨率确定性数值预报产品对我国西南环横断山区复杂地形区近地面2 m温度的预报能力,并通过区分高地形区(川西高原)和低地形区(四川盆地南部),对比了不同地形区近地面2 m温度预报的偏差特征。结果表明:(1)ECMWF模式可合理预报我国西南环横断山区冬季平均2 m温度的空间分布特征,但偏差分布与地形高度有关,随着地形高度的增加,预报偏差呈增大趋势。(2)ECMWF模式很好再现了西南环横断山区冬季温度的日变化特征,峰值时刻出现在14:00(北京时);各时刻温度的预报偏差在不同地形高度存在差异,川西高原和横断山区的最大负偏差出现在下午,四川盆地南部的最大负偏差出现在早晨。同时,高地形区各时刻的预报偏差均高于低地形区。(3)ECMWF模式对日内各时刻不同地形处2 m温度的空间分布均有合理预报,但偏差存在日变化特征。特别是在横断山区高地形区,其在各时刻有不同的冷暖偏差特征。(4)在环横断山区温度日较差预报偏差较大的区域(大致为昆明准静止锋线发生频次较高的区域),模式对于温度日较差较大的日数,其2 m温度的预报偏差要大于日较差较小的日数,且在该区域内,温度日较差的预报偏差相对不稳定。

目的探讨高血压脑出血(HICH)患者血肿清除术后认知功能障碍的相关因素。方法回顾性分析广州医科大学附属脑科医院2019-06—2023-06采用脑血肿清除术治疗的高血压脑出血患者的临床资料,以术后发生认知功能障碍(CD)的30例患者作为CD组,根据CD组患者的年龄、性别,按1∶2比例采用倾向匹配法从术后未发生CD的患者中筛选60例患者纳入无认知功能障碍(NCD)组。比较2组患者一般资料,将其中有统计学差异的因素代入Logistic分析,探索术后发生CD的相关因素(危险因素或保护因素)。各项相关因素采用概率法拟合构建风险模型,以受试者工作特征(ROC)曲线分析各危险因素与风险模型对HICH血肿清除术后CD发生的预测价值,计算诊断临界(cut-off)值。结果2组患者术中MAP均值、BIS均值与术后24hS100β、NSE、SOD水平比较,差异有统计学意义(P0.9,P<0.05)。结论术后24h高SOD水平为HICH血肿清除术后发生CD的保护因素,术后24hS100β、NSE水平较高为CD发生的危险因素,据此完善围术期检查及术中干预措施有利于降低高血压脑出血患者血肿清除术后认知功能障碍的发生概率。

Transcriptomics integrated with metabolomics reveals the mechanism of CaCl_(2)-HCl electrolyzed water-induced glucosinolate biosynthesis in broccoli sprouts

Glucosinolates are important phytochemicals in *** investigated the effect of CaCl_(2)-HCl electrolyzed water(CHEW)on glucosinolates biosynthesis in broccoli *** results showed that CHEW treatment significantly decreased reactive oxygen species(ROS)and malondialdeh yde(MDA)contents in broccoli *** the the 8^(th)day,compared to tap water treatment,the the total glucosinolate content of broccoli sprouts with CHEW treatment increased by 10.6%and calcium content was dramatically enhanced from 14.4 mg/g DW to 22.7 mg/g *** transcriptome and metabolome analyses revealed that CHEW treatment activated ROS and calcium signaling transduction pathways in broccoli sprouts and they interacted through MAPK ***,CHEW treatment not only promoted the biosynthesis of amino acids,but also enhanced the expression of structural genes in glucosinolate synthesis through transcription factors(MYBs,bHLHs,WRKYs,etc.).The results of this study provided new insights into the regulatory network of glucosinolates biosynthesis in broccoli sprouts under CHEW treatment.

Plants regulate root exudates to form the composition of rhizosphere microbial community and resist disease *** studies advocate intervention with biochar(BC)and exogenous microbe to enhance this process and improve plant ***,the mechanism by which BC mediates exogenous microorganisms to enhance root exudate-soil microbial defensive feedback remains ***,a BC-based Bacillus subtilis SL-44 inoculant(BC@SL)was prepared to investigate the defensive feedback mechanism for plants,which enhanced plant growth and defense more than BC or SL-44 ***@SL not only strengthened the direct inhibition of Rhizoctonia solani Rs by solving the problem of reduced viability of a single SL-44 inoculant but also indirectly alleviated the Rs stress by strengthening plant defensive feedback,which was specifically manifested by the following:(1)increasing the root resistance enzyme activities(superoxide dismutase up to 3.5 FC);(2)increasing the abundance of beneficial microbe in soil(0.38-16.31%Bacillus);and(3)remodeling the composition of root exudates(palmitic acid 3.95-6.96%,stearic acid 3.56-5.93%,2,4 tert-butylphenol 1.23-2.62%,increasing citric acid 0.94-1.81%,and benzoic acid 0.97-2.13%).The mechanism reveals that BC@SL can enhance the positive regulatory effect between root exudates and microorganisms by optimizing their ***,BC@SL is a stable and efficient new solid exogenous soil auxiliary,and this study lays the foundation for the generalization and application of green pesticides.

为更好地对农业废弃物进行合理利用,提高堆肥产品营养效率,采用新型“菌剂+分子膜”发酵工艺对改善秸秆与畜粪共堆肥过程中的理化性质、腐熟度、腐殖化和磷组分动态进行研究。结果表明,土壤总有机碳(TOC)、含水率(MC)、C/N和黄腐酸(FA)均呈下降趋势,总氮(TN)、腐殖酸(HA)、总磷(TP)和有效磷(AP)含量明显增加(p<0.05),这说明共堆肥产品的腐熟度和营养水平都得到了改善。此外,腐殖化指数分析和液相磷31核磁共振波普(^(31)P-NMR)测定分别表明了共堆肥腐殖化程度的提高和磷组分的变化。根据NY/T 525—2021,除水分外,最终堆肥产品的性能符合法规要求。研究结果可为“菌剂+分子膜”发酵工艺在提高堆肥效率方面提供全面的认识,为实现农业废弃物资源化提供科学可行的策略。

Nonlinear proinflammatory effect of short-term PM_(2.5)exposure:A potential role of lipopolysaccharide

The association between PM_(2.5)(particulate matter≤2.5μm)short-term exposure and its health effect is non-linear from the epidemiological *** this nonlinearity is suggested to be related with the PM_(2.5)heterogeneity,however,the underlying biological mechanism is still ***,a total of 38 PM_(2.5)filters were collected continuously for three weeks in winter Beijing,with the ambient PM_(2.5)varying between 10 and 270μg/m^(3).Human monocytes-derived macrophages(THP-1)were treated with PM_(2.5)water-soluble elutes at10μg/mL to investigate the PM_(2.5)short-term exposure effect from a proinflammatory *** proinflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor(TNF)induced by the PM_(2.5)elutes at equal concentrations were unequal,showing the heterogeneity of PM_(2.5)proinflammatory *** the various chemical and biological components,lipopolysaccharide(LPS)showed a strong positive association with the TNF ***,some outliers were observed among the TNF-LPS ***,for PM_(2.5)from relatively clean air episodes,the higher LPS amount corresponded to relatively low TNF *** this phenomenon was also observed in the promotion tests by treating macrophages with PM_(2.5)elutes dosed with additional trace *** expression analysis indicated the involvement of oxidative-stress related genes in the LPS signaling ***,a potential oxidative-stress-mediated suppression on the PM_(2.5)-borne LPS proinflammatory effect was proposed to be accounted for the ***,the results showed the differential role of LPS in the heterogeneity of PM_(2.5)proinflammatory effects from a component-based *** experimental studies are needed to elucidate the signaling pathway of LPS attached on PM_(2.5)from different air quality episodes.

Experimental demonstrations of high-Q superconducting coplanar waveguide resonators

We successfully designed and fabricated an absorption-type of superconducting coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators. The resonators are made from a niobium film (about 160 nm thick) on a high-resistance Si substrate, and each resonator is fabricated as a meandered quarter-wavelength transmission line (one end is short to the ground and another end is capacitively coupled to a through feedline). With a vector network analyzer we measured the transmissions of the applied microwave through the resonators at ultra-low temperature. The obtained loaded quality factors are significantly high, i.e. up to ～10 6 . When the temperature increases slowly from the base temperature (20 mK), the resonance frequencies of the resonators are blue shifted and the quality factors are lowered slightly. In principle, this type of device can integrate a series of CPW resonators with a common feedline, making it a promising candidate as the data bus for coupling distant solid-state qubits and the sensitive detector of single photons.

Superwetting Ag/α-Fe_(2)O_(3) anchored mesh with enhanced photocatalytic and antibacterial activities for efficient water purification

Superwetting materials have drawn unprecedented attention in the treatment of oily wastewater due to their preferable anti-fouling property and selective oil/water ***,it is still a challenge to fabricate multifunctional and environmentally friendly materials,which can be stably applied to purify the actual complicated ***,a Ag/Ag/α-Fe_(2)O_(3) heterostructure anchored copper mesh was intentionally synthesized using a facile two-step hydrothermal *** resultant mesh with superhydrophilicity and underwater superoleophobicity was capable of separating various oil/water mixtures with superior separation efﬁciency and high permeationﬂux driven by ***ﬁting from the joint effects of the smaller band gap of Ag/α-Fe_(2)O_(3) heterojunction,inherent antibacterial capacity of Ag/α-Fe_(2)O_(3) and Ag nanoparticles,favorable conductive substrate,as well as the hierarchical structure with superwettability,such mesh presented remarkably enhanced degradation capability toward organic dyes under visible light irradiation and antibacterial activity against both Escherichia coli(***)and Staphylococcus aureus(***)compared with the pure Ag/α-Fe_(2)O_(3) coated ***,the mesh exhibited bifunctional water puriﬁcation performance,in which organic dyes were eliminated simultaneously from water during oil/water separation in oneﬁltration *** importantly,this mesh behaved exceptional chemical resistance,mechanical stability and long-term ***,this material with multifunctional integration may hold promising potential for steady water puriﬁcation in practice.

Dynamic changes in gut dysbiosis and metabolomic dysregulation are associated with immune-complex glomerulonephritis(ICGN).However,an in-depth study on this topic is currently ***,we report an ICGN model to address this *** was induced via the intravenous injection of cationized bovine serum albumin(c-BSA)into Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats for two weeks,after which mycophenolate mofetil(MMF)and losartan were administered *** and six weeks after ICGN establishment,fecal samples were collected and 16S ribosomal DNA(rDNA)sequencing and untargeted metabolomic were *** microbiota transplantation(FMT)was conducted to determine whether gut normali-zation caused by MMF and losartan contributed to their renal protective effects.A gradual decline in microbial diversity and richness was accompanied by a loss of renal *** 18 genera were found to have significantly different relative abundances between the early and later stages,and Marvinbryantia and Allobaculum were markedly upregulated in both *** metabolomics indicated that the tryptophan metabolism was enhanced in ICGN,characterized by the overproduction of indole and kynurenic acid,while the serotonin pathway was *** of losartan and MMF ameliorated microbial dysbiosis and reduced the accumulation of indoxyl conjugates in *** using feces from animals administered MMF and losartan improved gut dysbiosis by decreasing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes(F/B)ratio but did not improve renal *** findings indicate that ICGN induces serous gut dysbiosis,wherein an altered tryptophan metabolism may contribute to its *** and losartan significantly reversed the gut microbial and metabolomic dysbiosis,which partially contributed to their renoprotective effects.
