Fast Degradation of Green Pollutants Through Nanonets and Nanofibers of the Al-Doped Zinc Oxide

In this study, series of nanolayered structures of Zn–Al LDHs were prepared by urea hydrolysis. Nanofibers and nanonets of the Al-doped ZnO were formed via the decomposition of the nanolayers under high pressure and temperature. Nanospheres were also prepared for comparison. The different morphologies of the prepared nanomaterials were confirmed by several techniques. An improvement for the optical properties of the doped zinc oxides was observed through narrowing of their band gap energies because of transforming the nanolayers to nanonets and nanofibers. The photocatalytic activities of the prepared nanomaterials were studied through photocatalytic degradation of the pollutants of acid green dyes. Complete decolorization and mineralization of green dyes happened in the presence of the nanolayers and nanospheres within 4–6 h,while the nanonets and the nanofibers achieved the complete decolorization and degradation of the dyes at shorter time 1.3 h. These results could be explained though the kinetic study of the photocatalytic degradation of dyes. It was concluded that the nanonets and the nanofibers were very effective for the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants.

The(un)forced(un)damped parametric pendulum oscillator(PPO)is analyzed analytically and numerically using some simple,effective,and more accurate *** the first technique,the ansatz method is employed for analyzing the unforced damped PPO and for deriving some optimal and accurate analytical approximations in the form of angular Mathieu *** the second approach,some approximations to(un)forced damped PPO are obtained in the form of trigonometric functions using the ansatz *** the third approach,He’s frequency-amplitude principle is applied for deriving some approximations to the(un)damped *** the forth approach,He’s homotopy technique is employed for analyzing the forced(un)damped PPO *** the fifth approach,the p-solution Method,which is constructed based on Krylov–Bogoliúbov Mitropolsky method,is introduced for deriving an approximation to the forced damped *** the final approach,the hybrid Padé-finite difference method is carried out for analyzing the damped PPO *** proposed techniques are compared to the fourth-order Runge–Kutta(RK4)numerical ***,the global maximum residual distance error is estimated for checking the accuracy of the obtained *** proposed methodologies and approximations can help many researchers in studying and investigating several nonlinear phenomena related to the oscillations that can arise in various branches of science,*** and oscillations in plasma physics.

The Keap1–Nrf2–ARE pathway is an important antioxidant defense mechanism that protects cells from oxidative stress and the Keap1–Nrf2 protein–protein interaction(PPI) has become an important drug target to upregulate the expression of ARE-controlled cytoprotective oxidative stress response enzymes in the development of therapeutic and preventive agents for a number of diseases and conditions. However, most known Nrf2 activators/ARE inducers are indirect inhibitors of Keap1–Nrf2PPI and they are electrophilic species that act by modifying the sulfhydryl groups of Keap1's cysteine residues. The electrophilicity of these indirect inhibitors may cause "off-target" side effects by reacting with cysteine residues of other important cellular proteins. Efforts have recently been focused on the development of direct inhibitors of Keap1–Nrf2 PPI. This article reviews these recent research efforts including the development of high throughput screening assays, the discovery of peptide and small molecule direct inhibitors, and the biophysical characterization of the binding of these inhibitors to the target Keap1 Kelch domain protein. These non-covalent direct inhibitors of Keap1–Nrf2 PPI could potentially be developed into effective therapeutic or preventive agents for a variety of diseases and conditions.

The Ensemble Kalman Filter(EnKF),as the most popular sequential data assimilation algorithm for history matching,has the intrinsic problem of high computational cost and the potential inconsistency of state variables updated at each loop of data assimilation and its corresponding reservoir simulated *** problem forbids the reservoir engineers to make the best use of the 4D seismic data,which provides valuable information about the fluid change inside the ***,only matching the production data in the past is not enough to accurately forecast the future,and the development plan based on the false forecast is very likely to be *** solve this problem,we developed a workflow for geophysical and production data history matching by modifying ensemble smoother with multiple data assimilation(ESMDA).In this work,we derived the mathematical expressions of ESMDA and discussed its scope of *** geophysical data we used is P-wave impedance,which is typically included in a basic seismic interpretation,and it directly reflects the saturation change in the *** resolution of the seismic data is not necessary,we subsampled the P-wave impedance data to further reduce the computational *** our case studies on a benchmark synthetic reservoir model,we also showed the supremacy of matching both geophysical and production data,than the traditional reservoir history matching merely on the production data:the overall percentage error of the observed data is halved,and the variances of the updated forecasts are reduced by two orders of the magnitude.

The idea of the present article is to look into the nonlinear dynamics and vibration of a damping Duffing-jerk oscillator in fractal space exhibiting the non-perturbative *** a new analytical technique,namely,the modification of a He’s fractal derivative that converts the fractal derivative to the traditional derivative in continuous space,this study provides an effective and easy-to-apply procedure that is dependent on the He’s fractal derivative *** analytic approximate solution has a significant match with the results of the numerical simulation as the fractal parameter is very closer to unity,which proves the reliability of the *** behavior is discussed and illustrated *** new powerful analytical tools are developed in an attempt to obtain effective analytical tools,valid for any fractal nonlinear problems.

Exploiting inexpensive and effective nickel-based catalysts that produce hydrogen from liquid organic hydrogen carriers(LOHCs)is crucial to alleviating the global energy and environmental *** this study,we report a rational strategy that can realize atomically dispersed Ni atoms anchored on vacancy-abundant boron nitride nanosheets(Ni1/h-BNNS)with high specific surface area(up to 622 m^(2)·g^(-1))and abundant hydroxyl groups for high efficient hydrogen *** dehydrogenation results show an excellent hydrogen production performance catalyzed by this Ni1/h-BNNS,as evidenced by a remarkably high H_(2) yield rate(1684.23 mol·mol_(Ni)^(-1)·h^(-1)),nearly 100%selectivity toward hydrogen and CO,and high anti-coking *** functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the outstanding catalytic performance of Ni1/h-BNNS primarily originates from the unique coordinated environment of atomically dispersed Ni(Ni-B_(2)O_(2))and the synergistic interaction between Ni single atoms and the h-BNNS ***,the coordinated O atoms play a decisive role in promoting the activity of Ni,and the neighboring B sites significantly decrease the energy barriers for the adsorption of key intermediates of methanol *** study offers a novel strategy for developing high-performance and stable single-atom Ni catalysts by precisely controlling single-atom sites on h-BN support for sustainable hydrogen production.

Simulation is a powerful tool for improving,evaluating and analyzing the performance of new and existing *** simulators provide tools for studying transportation systems in smart cities as they describe the evolution of traffic to the highest level of *** are many types of traffic simulators that allow simulating traffic in modern *** most popular traffic simulation approach is the microscopic traffic simulation because of its ability to model traffic in a realistic *** many cities of Saudi Arabia,traffic management represents a major challenge as a result of expansion in traffic demands and increasing number of ***,employing simulation to provide effective traffic management for local scenarios in Saudi Arabia is limited to a number of commercial products in both public and private *** simulators are usually expensive,closed source and inflexible as they allow limited *** this project,we developed a local traffic simulator“KSUtraffic”for traffic modeling,planning and analysis with respect to different traffic control strategies and *** modeled information specified by GIS and real traffic ***,we designed experiments that manipulate simulation parameters and the underlying *** visualizes traffic and provides statistical results on the simulated traffic which would help to improve traffic management and efficiency.
